Lovely evening. The waittress was so helpful in choosing wisely on the menu. Each course was scrumptious. A memorable meeting.
We loved it !!!!! Great table and food.
The restaurant was very loud - they need some baffling in the ceiling to help cut down on the noise.
As always, fabulous
Felt safe, staff was wearing masks.they check your temperature when you arrive. The Hamachi tostadas were amazing and best thing we had all night and the frilled oysters were good as far as appetizers. The tomatoes basil soup was super delicious. Ordered the tomahawk steak which was good but we didn't think it was worth the amount they charge for it. For dessert we tried the butterscotch budino which was okay but on the super sweet side.
Outstanding food and drinks. Just what you would expect from a Tim Love restaurant. What was not so good was the service. 20 minutes to get drinks from the bar, no water refills and a server that didn't know the menu.
Outstanding food and service!
Amazing dinner and amazing wine. Top notch service as well. Best restaurant in Denton by a million miles!
Great food and experience!!!
I was disappointed, not nearly as good as The Lonesome Dove. The glazed Brussel sprouts were so glazed and sweet you couldn’t taste the sprout.. everything else really lacked in flavor minus the appetizers and salads. The Buffalo Cauliflower was amazing though! I’ve had better steaks at Roadhouse for a lot less though. Wish it had been as good of an experience as the Dove in Fort Worth though.
In no way would I recommend this restaurant to someone. The service was average for fine dining, the food was not impressive- low quality taste, dry steak and very “fishy” (not fresh) seafood. Wait for food was VERY long and still came with a bill of a high end restaurant. Not a typical Tim Love experience. Won’t be back.
We had an absolute blast at Queenie’s! It was such a special great, as we have our own Queenie! The staff was incredibly friendly, prompt, and the food was outstanding. A special memory for our whole family for sure.
My best friend and I loved it! He raved on about the food. The beautiful young lady that greeted up had such a bubbly personality and was so nice to meet. Our waiter was amazing as well. We will most definitely be back.
Service was great. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent as well. Overall a pleasant experience and we will go back again soon!
We had the most wonderful experience at Queenie’s - it was the best dining experience we have had in a very long time! Carson was absolutely fantastic and made our night very fun, personable, and catered to everything we needed. Five stars and more!
Excellent drink menu, wine and beer list, and dinner menu. We had the rabbit and rattlesnake sausages as an appetizer. Great flavor and a fresh take on the small, bite sized tapas.
Chile relleno was fantastic, a little spice and great flavor. Double cut pork chop with cauliflower mash and glaze was incredible, definitely an instant favorite. Cooked perfectly and amazing flavor. The truffled Mac n cheese with crispy artichoke was outstanding. Very different than most white cheese based macs, try this one for sure.
Drinks were excellent. Try the espresso martini, very smooth and complex with Godiva, Kailua, Bailey’s and espresso. Extensive menu of classics and inventive cocktails with an after dinner menu including scotches, ports and cigars. We were very impressed with this little Denton gem. Chef Love has done an excellent job with this spot.
Most restaurants have a few items they specialize in which are delicious. At Queenie's Steakhouse, every item on the menu is approached with full commitment (there are no "after-thought" items). This is incredibly rare. Every bite, every morsel, every plate is approached with an unmatched level of care and quality, and unbelievable taste. All three courses of our meal exceeded my expectations. The occasion was my wife's birthday, and the entire meal experience, including the romantic setting and the music, was a night to remember. The table service was incredible. This is a special place.
We just moved here from Southern California. It was our first night out to a excellent restaurant. We were afraid that if we moved to Texas we would not find such a great restaurant.
Exquisite steak and sides. Wonderful wine. Excellent service.
Food was amazing as always!
We started with our favorite Lemon Drop Martinis and ended the night with delicious do-nut holes!
Our waitress was both knowledgeable and had a sweet demeanor making the entire experience very good.
We will be back!
Tiny Hamachi tostadas were like a pepper on a ritz cracker (where was the fish?). Steak was cooked right, but had sat in the kitchen and was cold. Crispy potatoes were good but the Brussel sprouts were scorched. Famous chocolate cake from Love’s Iron Chef appearance was a glob of melty chocolate with a scoop of ice cream. The menu reads better than it’s executed.
We loved it per usual!!
Great food and service. Outstanding place serving the Denton community.
Service was poor and food was average. Kind of disappointing.
Amazing filet. Best I’ve had in years!
Food was good but the overall experience could have been much better. For this price, I really expect better treatment. We didn't see a waiter until 10 minutes after being seated. The table next to us arrived later and had two servings of bread before we received bread. It was 45 mintues after we sat down before we received bread and it was after we had our appetizer and came out with our salads. Steaks came out and the waiter left. I'm usually asked to cut into the steak to confirm it was cooked correctly but not this time. My daughter's medium rare was perfect. My medium rare was under cooked. I ended up eating it because the two of us had already been there for almost an hour and a half on a Wednesday night and I didn't want to delay longer. That said, even though undercooked, it was a very good filet and enjoyed it. I had the brussel sprouts and my daughter had the truffle mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was I believe an orzo and my daughter said it was excellent. She loved the artichoke that came on top. The brussel sprouts were also excellent. After taking the plates we asked for a dessert menu. Ten minutes later we were asked if we had any questions. I said we still hadn't seen the menu. The waiter was apologetic and described the options. We had the butterscotch pudding (I forget the exact name). It was okay.
Waiter delivered the check and apologized for the service. I had not complained during the meal but was honestly a little put off by the apology. Normally when it is so obvious that the service was lacking, an offer to comp dessert or give some sort of discount is given but not this time.
I just absolutely love coming here! It’s upscale in a small town so you can dress up or be casual! I love the atmosphere and the food is DELICIOUS!! Karsyn is a frequent waitress and my family and I usually have her serve us! She is so sweet and makes the experience that much more enjoyable! Thank you, Queenie’s Denton! We love you!
Ok. Close but no cigar. It took forever to get drinks. This is a common event each time we eat here. The service - an inability to keep the water glasses refilled. The mixed drinks - they forgot the Luxardo cherries that normally are present. The dessert? Afogato was not available - the espresso machine was on the Fritz.
These are all annoyances - but they distracted from
an otherwise excellent meal. The filet and the salmon were quite good, as were the appetizers. Brussels sprouts were a treat. The appetizers hit the mark, as did the chocolate cake.
A in all, a B plus. Very sad. It should have been a home run. Details DO matter. There is just no good excuse for the various miscues. If you want to charge Dallas prices, you need to pay attention.
It's still the best restaurant in Denton. Judy's food was a little too spicy, but that what Southwestern is all about. We will be back.
This is our first visit to Queenie’s and it was a wonderful experience. Very thoughtful service, diverse menu, quiet atmosphere. We’ll be back when we’re in Denton.
My wife and I were celebrating our 28th anniversary. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. When our table was ready we were seated next to a large group having dinner. We were right next to them with very little space. The waiter was not very attentive and failed to get my drink when ordered for over 15 minutes and had to be reminded. There were very long delays with this waiter on several things. The food was outstanding. Overall the service and where they seated us was terrible. We could barely hear each other over the group next to each us.
The food was delicious. Best in Denton. The wait staff was very helpful.
Haven’t been to Queenies in a while. They required/asked all dining folks to sign a form for contact tracing, they checked temperatures, and during our dining experience they were strict with their mask policy when coming /going from your table.
We enjoyed two different appetizers which were both about $12 each and provided three pieces. That seemed a little steep per piece for me. Both appetizers we tried were very yummy. I am not a fan of dinners that do not have any sides: everything is à la carte but I was already aware/prepared.
My steak was cooked perfectly, the seasoning was just right – not over seasoned, I absolutely love their carrots and their cauliflower sides. The salmon my husband had was just ok- he was hoping for something more. One of our guests had the stuffed tenderloin and said it was great.
Other than the price of the appetizers; my only other issue during my experience was with delays from the waitstaff. Our dinner experience took much much longer than it needed to because the wait staff was very slow. However I will not fault them on this because I am sure that they were working on a skeleton crew due to dining limitations and Covid restrictions. We were glad to be dining with friends and had plenty to catch up about so the delays were tolerable.
The service, ambiance, and staff were great.
Appetizers were awesome-shrimp and oysters
Tomato soup was divine
Disappointed with the trout, one medium filet.
Brussell sprouts were overcooked.
Pork chop was perfect, Mac and cheese with truffles delightful, and crisp potato’s great.
It was nice to go, but for the money I’d prefer Longhorns
Fabulous food, great ambience - a real gem in Downtown Denton
One dinner was served later than the rest. Would have preferred warm plates so our steaks would have stayed warm. First coffee served was not hot.
It was still an enjoyable dinner
Great food and service. Even got some great recommendation for the weekend.
Food here was OUTSTANDING. I had the strip steak which was perfectly prepared. They obviously did not realize they were supposed to be open at 11:30, which was when our reservation was, but they got it handled. A very pleasant surprise.
Thankful & Grateful to you for being open, so that I might enjoy spending time celebrating instead of in the kitchen cooking & cleaning.
We ate outside on Thanksgiving day. Our waiter was amazing: the fire outside was perfect. We loved it!
