Queen Mary Tea Room
Lunch: Wednesday-Friday: 11:00 am-4:00 pm, Saturday-Sunday: 11:00 am-4:30 pm
Deserves the fine reputation it has. A wonderful place to go for special occasions.
Loved it! Ambiance was so charming. Afternoon Tea was amazing, as was the service. Highly recommend for an enjoyable afternoon.
Excellent spot for authentic English high tea. Food is wonderful.
Excellent tea and wonderful experience. The staff was extremely friendly and polite, and the food was delicious.
As always, it is a lovely way to spend the afternoon celebrating a friends birthday. Thank you for being here. Pat Eskenazi
Truly delicious food, marvelous décor and ambience, comfortable and charming, quiet enough for real conversation, lovely service -- all of these combine to create a special, fun, and thoroughly enjoyable outing. HIGHLY recommend!
A wonderful afternoon tea! Queen Mary is a Seattle Treasure.
Have been to Queen Mary many times, usually celebrating a birthday with friends. Food and tea selection is always fabulous. This is not the type of restaurant for small children, as there are breakables throughout the restaurant. I will continue to go to the Queen Mary as it is one of my favorite places.
Our lunch was elegant and tasty. Yes, this is a special place and is priced accordingly, but is well worth it.
We had a delightful Afternoon Tea for Two. The menu for tea service is imaginative, and the vegetarian accommodation was excellent. All food was tasty, you receive a more than adequate amount of savories and sweets, making it very reasonably priced. Service is gracious and attentive. The atmosphere is charming.
Be sure to check out the Emporium gift shop as well, and take home a bag of one of their many delicious tea blends.
We had a great time!!!
The ambiance and food were good, but overpriced for tea and pastries.
I brought my whole family who were visiting from Japan to this place on Saturday 4:30pm seating. It was not so busy and we had an excellent time. They were all patient and took well care of us. I definitely recommend it.
I took my sister here for her 30th bday. She loved it. Especially when they asked her if she wanted to wear a tiara. Of course she did - she was ecstatic. Thank you for a great time.
Queen Mary's Tea Room delivers an experience that makes you and your table feel like royalty. From a creative and delicious tea selection to the many course high tea experience that sets Queen Mary's apart, you'll enjoy your time here.
Hands down the best afternoon tea place in the city. Unique, beautiful and quality food.
The Queen Mary Tea Room is the perfect place to celebrate a special event or relax with friends while enjoying delicious tea & treats. Birthday queens & kings of all ages receive the royal treatment with little extras that make it truly a magical dining experience. Children are welcome and can enjoy a special tea service just for them. The restaurant is popular so make reservations & don’t miss their charming gift shops - one at the restaurant & the other just down the street.
Special occasions only type of place IMO. They offer an afternoon tea menu (GF & Vegetarian options) as well as normal breakfast & lunch. Their tea selection is enormous! Bubbly drinks are also an option. The place is expensive at $45/per person for afternoon tea, which I think is a lot for what you are getting. You are really paying for the experience. I do wish there was more room in this place too. You are shoulder to shoulder with the other tables, so you hear everyone's conversation and just about knock items off either table getting up. There are two bathrooms in back, the one on the right side is the CUTEST. Definitely go though- at least once while in Seattle!
It was okay but the food wasn’t that great. Especially for the price.
EDIT TO REVIEW: The owner, Mary, contacted me almost immediately after posting this review. She offered to make our experience improved and also was very receptive to the concern of our experience and was willing to do whatever necessary. For this reason, I increased my "overall" rating. Thank you for attempting to rectify the situation and we will be back as promised if we ever find ourselves in your area again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We were truly looking forward to this experience and had been planning on the occasion for quite some time. We were very promptly sat and while the server was prompt in greeting the table, she didn't respond to a majority of the questions and tended to linger at the table with a blank look on her face. The food left something to be desired but the place was very cute, although VERY small and cramped with others sitting right on top of you. The biggest problem was that when a table would get up to leave, the table linen WAS NOT CHANGED. The servers wiped down the existing cloth table linen with the patrons DIRTY NAPKINS and reset the table for the next sitting. We watched this happen with 4 tables, and I'm sure happened to ours prior to being sat. This was very disappointing, and we will not be coming back.
Outstanding restaurant. We went for a special birthday. They seated a 3 some group next to us with a very young little girl who was clearly way to young to enjoy the experience. Her mom tried valiantly to make it a pleasant occasion but when it became a crawl under the table game the disruption was inappropriate. Very unfortunate and the reason I can't give the restaurant and overall "Outstanding."
Loved the food and the tea!
My friend and I had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday with afternoon tea- A great place for a special meal :)
My daughter and I have been coming to QM for birthday celebrations for 20 years. We always have the best time, birthday girl wears a tiara, and the food is amazing. I particularly like the coconut tea, and the smoke salmon quiche. But everything on the menu is good, so you can’t go wrong. The service is wonderful.
We go for high tea at Queen Mary’s 3 or 4 times a year and enjoy it every time!
This was my first time having English tea in Seattle. I have been to many stations throughout New York City and Florida. This yearbook is really outstanding not only for the variety and quality of the food but also for the service. Our server Suzy was wonderful. If you are in Seattle you MUST come here. The regular menu looked really good and you will not find a reaction with such a variety of tea.
This was a nice spot for a special occasion. I do believe the afternoon tea is a little over hyped and not worth the price. I recommend tea and a meal for a better value.
Lovely tea house! The food was wonderful and I think a great value for your money! The setting is fabulous and such a perfect spot for a ladies day out!
Wonderful ambience, delicious food. The salad that accompanied my meal was the absolute prettiest and best tasting I’ve ever had. Great experience.
Wonderful food and very sweet and knowledgeable staff. We enjoyed our lunches immensely.
Friendly and caring staff. Great environment. Afternoon tea was a bit pricey but worth it
I've visited Queen Mary Tearoom for Mother's day, Father's Day, Birthdays, Bachelorette Party, and special dates! From casual to special, this venue has been perfect for every occasion, and the tea, of course, is always excellent!! Almost don't want to put up a review and keep this a secret hot spot <3
Lovely spot. Fun decor. Great service. Delicious food. I found the price a bit high, thus the value isn’t quite there in my opinion but for a special occasion it was spot on and very memorable. We did go on a very warm Seattle day and I have to admit it was almost unpleasantly hot. Kinda sad to sweat through what was supposed to be a special occasion meal. Nonetheless I would recommend it for the occasional splurge.
The food here is very good but you certainly pay a high price for it and for the ambiance. We have been here before for special occasions. This time It was VERY warm and VERY crowded making us feel squashed and uncomfortable. Although they say they will limit the tiaras for tables, we passed a table where all of the older women (4) had tiaras on so that my 2 little nieces were unable to get one on their birthdays (that's why we went). Seemed stingy that they don't have enough to give out when we have paid such a high price, made reservations well in advance specifying the special occasion and mostly because they have an entire basket of them for sale! At the prices we paid, they couldn't have grabbed a couple to keep their repeat customers happier? You may say, well, it's just a tiara, but of course to a 7 year old and 9 year old, it is a pretty big deal. They kept asking about it all through the very expensive meal.
By the way, the servers are wonderful. ;)
It was our first time visiting Queen Mary Tea Room; I took my best friend for her birthday. We made an 11:45 reservation and a few days before I was called and asked if I would mind moving it to 12; I said no problem. We arrived about five minutes early, and we were seated about five minutes after 12. The decor is so cute, cozy, themed, and warm. Lots to look at and take in, very fun. The desserts in the dessert case looked beautiful and I definitely wish I had saved room to try one of the cakes or a giant macaron. Anyway, we ordered afternoon tea for two and subbed the cucumber sandwich for a zesty Apple sandwich due to allergy. Our teas, and our food was all excellent. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and the experience was so pleasant. We even made friendly chat with our table neighbors through most of it, who were also thoroughly enjoying their experience. It’s meant to be a leisurely experience, but even so, our server was a bit delayed at times, but she did acknowledge that and apologize for it. One thing I would like to note is that it’s a little bit of tight quarters, and the wicker chairs are incredibly uncomfortable for me as someone who suffers from disability stemming from injury in my back. My mom, as an older lady with hip and knee mobility issues would probably not be able to sit in them. Overall an honestly, very enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend (to people of bodies capable to endure the chairs)!
Delightful high tea, cucumber sandwiches and all. My granddaughter was delighted. The food was tasty. Selection of teas wonderful! Dining room is very small and crowded but it adds to the charm.
Beautiful decor. Great place for girlfriends, little girls and mothers/daughters to spend time. The men I’ve seen here don’t seem to be having as good a time. We enjoyed the food, the assortment of teas, the service, and the setting. The only downside to dining here is - the tables are too close together. If you could remove one or two of the smaller tables along the two longer walls, it would make a world of difference. Otherwise, you feel as if you’re dining with the people at the next table. When the server was talking to the people at the next table, her backside was right up against my teapot. The last time I was there, I saw a woman knock the water glass off the next table with her rear end as she attempted to squeeze between the two tables to return to her seat. Other than that, I recommend trying this place out. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with a special someone.
Wonderful for family and friends. We did the afternoon English high tea. Wore our hats , food was amazing for a high tea .
I took my 6 year old granddaughter to tea. Their kid's menu was outstanding and she had lots of fun.
I wanted to take my nanny kid (9) to a for a fun girls day at a unique spot. QM was so much fun for her. She was not shy to try the different teas with the hint of crystal sugar :). She ate the afternoon tea for children and got an array of goodies, fruits, and a small sandwich. I had the turkey sandwich with the decadent basil pea soup (yum). I found it really pleasant that we were able to try different teas that were already steeped and made to try. The small details at QM are too cute, her and I were both in awe. Everything was fine except for the fact that at the end of our meal we were slowly forgotten about. I had to ask other waitresses to assist with our needs. I feel that there was a lack of communication between the staff and the newly trained staff. As an apology the waitress that I settled the check with provided us with the (big) macron to take home. I feel instead of just throwing a dessert at us, they should have offered to pay for at least one of our meals or a discounted meal price. The extra dessert made my nanny kid happy and that's all I was concerned about. Overall it was a great adventure but sadly it left a bad taste in my mouth from the poor service. :(
