Queen Mary Tea Room
Lunch: Wednesday-Friday: 11:00 am-4:00 pm, Saturday-Sunday: 11:00 am-4:30 pm
Friendly and caring staff. Great environment. Afternoon tea was a bit pricey but worth it
I've visited Queen Mary Tearoom for Mother's day, Father's Day, Birthdays, Bachelorette Party, and special dates! From casual to special, this venue has been perfect for every occasion, and the tea, of course, is always excellent!! Almost don't want to put up a review and keep this a secret hot spot <3
Lovely spot. Fun decor. Great service. Delicious food. I found the price a bit high, thus the value isn’t quite there in my opinion but for a special occasion it was spot on and very memorable. We did go on a very warm Seattle day and I have to admit it was almost unpleasantly hot. Kinda sad to sweat through what was supposed to be a special occasion meal. Nonetheless I would recommend it for the occasional splurge.
The food here is very good but you certainly pay a high price for it and for the ambiance. We have been here before for special occasions. This time It was VERY warm and VERY crowded making us feel squashed and uncomfortable. Although they say they will limit the tiaras for tables, we passed a table where all of the older women (4) had tiaras on so that my 2 little nieces were unable to get one on their birthdays (that's why we went). Seemed stingy that they don't have enough to give out when we have paid such a high price, made reservations well in advance specifying the special occasion and mostly because they have an entire basket of them for sale! At the prices we paid, they couldn't have grabbed a couple to keep their repeat customers happier? You may say, well, it's just a tiara, but of course to a 7 year old and 9 year old, it is a pretty big deal. They kept asking about it all through the very expensive meal.
By the way, the servers are wonderful. ;)
It was our first time visiting Queen Mary Tea Room; I took my best friend for her birthday. We made an 11:45 reservation and a few days before I was called and asked if I would mind moving it to 12; I said no problem. We arrived about five minutes early, and we were seated about five minutes after 12. The decor is so cute, cozy, themed, and warm. Lots to look at and take in, very fun. The desserts in the dessert case looked beautiful and I definitely wish I had saved room to try one of the cakes or a giant macaron. Anyway, we ordered afternoon tea for two and subbed the cucumber sandwich for a zesty Apple sandwich due to allergy. Our teas, and our food was all excellent. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and the experience was so pleasant. We even made friendly chat with our table neighbors through most of it, who were also thoroughly enjoying their experience. It’s meant to be a leisurely experience, but even so, our server was a bit delayed at times, but she did acknowledge that and apologize for it. One thing I would like to note is that it’s a little bit of tight quarters, and the wicker chairs are incredibly uncomfortable for me as someone who suffers from disability stemming from injury in my back. My mom, as an older lady with hip and knee mobility issues would probably not be able to sit in them. Overall an honestly, very enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend (to people of bodies capable to endure the chairs)!
Delightful high tea, cucumber sandwiches and all. My granddaughter was delighted. The food was tasty. Selection of teas wonderful! Dining room is very small and crowded but it adds to the charm.
Beautiful decor. Great place for girlfriends, little girls and mothers/daughters to spend time. The men I’ve seen here don’t seem to be having as good a time. We enjoyed the food, the assortment of teas, the service, and the setting. The only downside to dining here is - the tables are too close together. If you could remove one or two of the smaller tables along the two longer walls, it would make a world of difference. Otherwise, you feel as if you’re dining with the people at the next table. When the server was talking to the people at the next table, her backside was right up against my teapot. The last time I was there, I saw a woman knock the water glass off the next table with her rear end as she attempted to squeeze between the two tables to return to her seat. Other than that, I recommend trying this place out. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with a special someone.
Wonderful for family and friends. We did the afternoon English high tea. Wore our hats , food was amazing for a high tea .
I took my 6 year old granddaughter to tea. Their kid's menu was outstanding and she had lots of fun.
I wanted to take my nanny kid (9) to a for a fun girls day at a unique spot. QM was so much fun for her. She was not shy to try the different teas with the hint of crystal sugar :). She ate the afternoon tea for children and got an array of goodies, fruits, and a small sandwich. I had the turkey sandwich with the decadent basil pea soup (yum). I found it really pleasant that we were able to try different teas that were already steeped and made to try. The small details at QM are too cute, her and I were both in awe. Everything was fine except for the fact that at the end of our meal we were slowly forgotten about. I had to ask other waitresses to assist with our needs. I feel that there was a lack of communication between the staff and the newly trained staff. As an apology the waitress that I settled the check with provided us with the (big) macron to take home. I feel instead of just throwing a dessert at us, they should have offered to pay for at least one of our meals or a discounted meal price. The extra dessert made my nanny kid happy and that's all I was concerned about. Overall it was a great adventure but sadly it left a bad taste in my mouth from the poor service. :(
This is THE best place for afternoon tea in Seattle!
We went to the Queen Mary for my mothers birthday. We left to go to the Queen Mary because the service is always excellent and the food is delicious. It wasn’t very busy when we went at 9:30 AM on a Sunday which was just fine with us as we were able to enjoy ourselves and not feel as crowded as we sometimes do when there are more people present.
Great special day out with two young ladies. I wouldn't bring too much younger, but not a problem even for two pretty silly 8 year olds.
Lovely tea room with a staff of friendly and knowledgeable people
Been going for years...always a hit with friends & relatives!
It’s an experience! It’s more British than eating in Britain. No seriously, a great selection of tea, good food, service and a such a surprise - didn’t know there was a proper tea room restaurant in Seattle!
We had a 9am sitting with both a meal from the brunch menu and afternoon teas. The sausage omelette was delicious and super flavorful. We had a oolong, black and queens tea-all were perfect. We wish there was cubes sugar rather than a confetti colorful powder sugar, and no fruit on the afternoon tea menu. Would have been great and more authentic with pastries and sweets than blueberries and melon and watermelon cubes. Still, we would definitely come again.
We had a great afternoon tea with the ladies of our family including my two daughters (3 and 5) It was a perfect spot to bring the little girls and have the bigger ladies also equally enjoy themselves. Everyone helping us were super friendly and nice.
We love afternoon tea at the Queen Mary Tea Room! My daughter and her cousins get together for tea each year at Christmastime. We also routinely bring out of town guests here. The restaurant has a lovely assortment of tea and accompaniments, including a kid-friendly spread for little ones.
The tables are a bit close together but I'm sure this makes room for more people to enjoy afternoon tea services. We were grateful to get a reservation. The decor is somewhat overwhelming but interesting. Thank you for the experience. We had a lovely time!
Very graceful place and tasty afternoon tea. We also bought some tea from the shop across the street.
My 3rd trip there and it is such a beautiful escape. Friendly Staff and scrumptious food , ALWAYS. A visit to my roots each summer is not complete without a visit there . Have acquired countless items from their gift shop that bring back memories every time I use them at home in Hawaii .
A regular and thoroughly enjoyable experience. A favorite!
I LOVE this place! So cute and everyone who works there is so sweet. I want to make afternoon tea here a monthly thing :)
Great for girl time
It was great
Fun time, quality of food doesn’t match the price.
I have been coming to the QM Tea Room for many years and chose to come here to celebrate a milestone birthday with my husband. The food was excellent as usual! I noticed however that our waitress seemed very rushed and we had to wait longer than usual to place our order. Since she forgot to ask if this was a special occasion, which it was, I told her it was my birthday and asked if I could wear one of their birthday tiaras. They were low on them she explained, as customers tend to walk off with them, so I was a little sad I that didn't get to wear one. *Sniffle* My experience this time was not quite as top notch as on other visits, but I still had a wonderful time and plan to return!
Service was great! Tea selection was outstanding. Food was ok. It was a bit challenging to have a conversation due to the noise, proximity of other tables, kids, and the number of people in such a small space.
We fell in love! The atmosphere is cozy Victorian/posh English with a dash of unicorns etc for the children’s birthdays, and it’s not stifling—it’s as formal as you want it to be. Food was great, though it should be noted that the scones are American style, not like with English cream tea. Tea and the pea soup were incredible. Service was a bit slow possibly due to the fact that it was graduation weekend in the U District but staff were friendly and helpful. The place has marvelous attention to detail that really makes the experience. If you’re a fan of tea/an Anglophile I recommend the emporium down the street as well.
We took our next door neighbors for lunch to thank them for all that they do to help us
We had a wonderful time. They loved the tea (especially the Lemon Chiffon), the food (we all had vegitarian quiche) and the over all ambience and experience. Queen Mary stopped by our table and made us feel so welcome. Our neighbors plan to go back again soon. We have been coming back for years. Perfect place for a thank you.
It’s the perfect place for a special occasion. Think 9 year old daughter’s birthday or fancy lunch with a special relative.
Getting together with family
Every detail about QM’a tea house was perfect! Took my mom and sisters here for Mother’s Day high tea and absolutely enjoyed ourselves!
We always try to take our friends to Queen Mary's for birthdays and other special occasions. We took our small wedding party to Queen Mary's for our wedding brunch. Food is fantastic.
This is a wonderful spot, with a well defined vibe, perfectly prepared tea, and delicious food that will leave you wanting to try something new on your next visit.
Beautiful venue, delicious food and tea, and great service. Took my mom there for Mother's Day and it was perfect! Loved it and will definitely go again.
Love the feel of this place. The food is wonderful, as is the selection of teas and desserts. One complaint is that it is SO loud, it was nearly impossible to hear the person sitting across the table from me. Also, the seating is so tight, you feel like a sardine. If you could remove just one table along the west wall, it would make a world of difference. There were several instances where the server nearly knocked something off our table.
Went here for a birthday breakfast and tea. Food was delicious, the tea was outstanding, and our waitress was wonderful.
My mom took my daughter out for her birthday and had the best time. My daughter thought it was completely magical!
