Queen Margherita Pizza - Jane Ratings and Reviews
First time there and having read previous comments was a bit suspicious. Very noisy; had reservations so we got a table right away; place was full on a wed night at 7 pm; wait staff
took too long; appetizer which i shared with my husband was 4 shrimp and strands of fried zucchini and onions - $12 for that!! terrible!! Pizza was good although pricey; dessert was good; wine and beer a little pricey; cappuccino was watery for $4!! Was so excited to try it now will wait before returning to give it a second chance. Our guests were not impressed with slow service.
Waaaaaay too expensive for what you get. We ordered three 8"-10" pizzas, an app and two salads and half a litre of red wine our bill before tip was $180. The pizza was good but undercooked and a bit soggy. We've been to Italy so we feel we know how it should be cooked.
I enjoyed my pizza at queen marguerita. It was delicious. However, was a little disappointed at our cool arincini balls. I've had them before at a different location and they were better there. Our server was nice enough, but, like most of the staff there, not overly friend.
I would return for a quick bite and glass of wine.
We were planning to dine at Queen Margherita pizza for a while and finally made it tonight only to be disappointed. The restaurant was jam packed with tables and once we were seated servers had to ask us on several occasions to move our chairs to pass by. Furthermore our server did not provide clear information about the fixed price menu or about the pizzas. Eventually when our food did arrive , it was just okay. Nothing to write home about. Our server did not bother providing any condiments or chilli oil. Simple things like water refills were missed. Needless to say we won't be returning.
What I like is that the menu is simple; not too many options. The woodoven pizzas are their specialty and they're really good...nice selection of salads too. The calamari is very lightly breaded and comes with a subtle tomato dipping sauce instead of the typical tartar-style...yum. The service was pleasant and efficient. The only negative was the bench seating; a little high so not comfortable. However, the regular seating is plentiful. In cold weather, their over-sized vestibule which blocks the cool air and wind, is a real plus.
I first would like to say the service was good. Our Pizza was great as usual.
January must be A slow month because I found the restaurant quite empty on a Sunday night.
I ordered a gin and tonic, had to ask for another drink because the tonic water was flat. We ordered desserts and the ice cream had freezer burn.
Overall I still like this restaurant
But I think they need to check their stock for freshness.
Too bad but my experience not as great as previous times.
Very nice looking restaurant with very good pizza in the more modern thin/woodfired style like pizzeria libretto. Just be ready to drop a lot of money for not a lot of food. Poor veg options and much of their menu is devoted to recipes that are odd rather than just doing some of the standard recipies (pepperoni) well. Great service. Good wine menu.
6 of us celebrated new job and a birthday. Staff was awesome all the way from making initial phone calls to the goodnight at the door. Food was served quickly and all 4 kinds of pizzas that we've ordered were delicious. We are thinking of going back already. Recommended, 5 stars.
This is our family/date-night go-to place because we know we'll get the BEST gourmet pizza anywhere in town plus a really good wine and beer menu. The desserts are incredible - including a delicious gluten free chocolatey berry option for anyone who doesn't need gluten-free but can't resist chocolate. The staff are wonderful, just attentive enough without being annoying.
