About Quattro Restaurant and Bar - Four Seasons Hotel
The Italian word for "four", the name is in line with the architectural design of the restaurant as a large light airy room with glass on three sides. The room is lit dramatically at night and illuminates the front of the hotel entrance. Quattro features Northern Italian seasonal and light cuisine with a fresh Cal-Italian twist at breakfast and lunch. The dinner menu is comprised of contemporary Italian cuisine featuring locally grown produce and artisan products from Northern California farms since opening. Attentive, unobtrusive service compliments the exquisite menu and an extensive wine list which includes predominantly California wines with many boutique offerings and an extensive Italian selection.

Quattro Restaurant and Bar - Four Seasons Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Very nice ambience. Gracious service; quiet.
Prices are a total ripoff. I had the chicken which was an adequate portion, well cooked. The accompaniments, two vegetables and an eggplant purée in such microscopic amounts, buried in a cloying sauce which masked their identity. They mDe a substitution for me which they said might cost extra until I shamed them out of it.
There were only two of us, and we had chicken and pasta respectively and had no appetizer, soup, dessert or wine, so this was in no way reflective of the quality of the overall menu, certain entrees of which, alone were $75. If you had a full, multi course meal with a glass of wine with tip, could be ~ $150.
I would place this in the hotel rip-off category, so if you go, be ready for a hefty wallet biopsy which I do not think is value received for ordinary dining.
Our waiter was really loud. The restaurant was very quiet. I used the Groupon, and for a vegetarian it was not worth it. Quite expensive even with the discount. The food was decent, but not worth $225 for two people. My wife thought we should have gone to Taco Bell for our anniversary and spent $10 instead, and bought her a purse for $215.
I've been coming to Quattro for several years with clients and have very much enjoyed the high quality food, great service and great wines. This most recent visit, unfortunately, fell short of my expectations from a service point of view. The waiter lacked the usual enthusiasm and friendliness I've previously enjoyed on all previous visits. Further, he forgot to bring my wine prior to the main course - I needed to remind him. Hopefully, next time I will be assigned a better server.
Quattro is the restaurant at the Silicon Valley Four Seasons Hotel off of Highway 101. Close to VC firms, Quattro is busier serving business dinners on weeknights than it is serving friends and couples on weekends. We came for our anniversary and the wait staff were excited. We heard “Happy Anniversary” from nearly everyone.
Drinks were great, food was mostly great, but so pricey. Also, the high ceiling architecture and sandstone bricks make me feel like I’m at Stanford. Not quite what I’m looking for on date night.
There are nice fire pits outside for the cocktail crowd. We’ll definitely check those out next time.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience. When I made my lunch reservation online, I mentioned that my wife and I were going to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. This Four Seasons hotel was where we stayed on our wedding night. The staff remembered our special occasion and to our pleasant surprise, went above and beyond with their service. When we received our menus, we realized it was customized with a congratulatory message on top addressed to us specifically. The servers kept giving us warm anniversary wishes. Lastly, they offered a complimentary dessert with a "Happy 10th Anniversary" message on the plate. It was very special. My only critique, which is minor compared to the positives, is that the spaghetti plate we received was too peppery. The dish would've tasted perfect with less pepper in it. That's it. Everything else was great!
This restaurant is pricey, but in my opinion well worth it.
What we drank: Beefeater Martini, various wines and coffee.
What we ate: funghi trifolati, bucatini nero alle vongole, bone-in piedmontese ribeye 16oz, on the shell lobster tail, s'more for me. All were superb. The steak was cooked exactly to my specifications. The cut per se and the method of cooking make for a dramatically succulent flavor and texture.
The service was impeccable. Our server knew the details of every menu item. He offered suggestions that were quite helpful. We were never rushed and were at the table for more than two hours.
I hosted a major political figure and two of his team. I chose Quattro because of the proximity to the freeway and the quality of the luncheon menu. Two of us started with gazpacho, which was excellent. We all had different entrees, and everyone seemed to enjoy them. I had my usual, off-the-menu Cobb salad. It was excellent. The service was great. Becca is always attentive.
I dine at Quattro many times and I never been disappointed. I shared 2 dishes with my colleague and I was extremely please to see that they divided the dishes in advance for both of us what it is very nice.
The service is outstanding.
I highly recommended this place for any occasion; business, romantic diner near fire place, or family diner if you are willing to accept the high price, but it is worth it!
As I often do, I took a business colleague to Quattro for lunch. We ate outside, which was very pleasant. We both order the gazpacho to start and ordered a Cobb salad (off the menu). Both were excellent. Our server, whom I have had many times, was very attentive and excellent. All in all, another excellent business luncheon.
Absolutely absurdly expensive. For example, wines by the glass at prices in the $30 to $60 range. I asked the waitress if they had any red wines at $12 or under for a glass, and she apologized and said no. So we ordered water. The water was $7.50 a bottle, one for each of the two of us. So, $15.00 for water!! I am not a cheapskate and I can afford such prices, but that doesn't mean that I enjoy being ripped off. The value just simply doesn't correspond to the prices. Not returning anytime soon.
Quattro serves nice food in a pleasant setting, though it is a bit too noisy. Unfortunately, the experience was spoiled by overbilling at the end. This might be regarded as a minor mistake, but this the second time in a row where our credit cards were overcharged. Once is a careless mistake. It happens, rarely. Twice seems a very odd coincidence. Another regrettable point is the use of iPad apps for the wine list. This doesn't work very well. And the prices for wine by the glass show that the market in Palo Alto will bear any abuse.
Quattro is one of my favorite place to have a lunch with friends and children but unfortunately the kitchen on Sunday (probably) was awful. We had a burgers with raw egg whites, soggy buns and flat tasted meat... What a shame...
Will never go there on Sunday....
But the service is always good!
We have been here more than a dozen times and this time the food was really bad. Something has changed over the years. The $70+ steak came out cold and “bitter”. The fish was bland and they ran out of Branzino and changed it to Seabass. For the price, the steak needs to be perfect but they don’t know how to cook the steak; almost feels like they use Sous-vide method to keep it tender and then char it carelessly.
Also the wine is twice as expensive as other high end local downtown Palo Alto restaurants. i.e. Chateau Montelena
Mostly likely we will not go back for dinner again as you have much better choices in Down Town Palo Alto. For lunch, the shrimp is delicious and they have wonderful burgers and power lunches (soup, entree and dessert). Again the butcher steak during lunch is also nothing special.
Food was delicious. Portions were small.
Tapas plate with ink squid pasta and clams had 1 clam and a sauce with finely diced clams. Totally over priced. Dessert was fabulous taste however 2 tablespoons is a small portion of gelato with 4 tablespoons of cake for $13.00.
Came here with my girlfriends, celebrating two birthdays on Sunday. The brunch menu was great, had a lot to choose from. We all enjoyed our food. Bella, our server, was awesome. The mini dessert plate with candles and the personalized menu were a great touch. We will definitely be back again.
Undoubtedly one of the finest dining spots in the area. Outstanding staff, kitchen, service, ambiance. Elegant setting and spacious, well lit but quiet ambience. Food is all outstanding, finest ingredients expertly prepared. Entire staff is extremely well trained and knowledgable, courteous and appreciative. Will be a regular spot for a special evening out.
I am sorry, this was not what I had expected!
Food was not upto par for a restaurant of this stature, desert was okay. Service by hostess and bartender was very good, but the waiter (and his staff) were too intrusive - constantly intruding in our conversation.
Dining at Quattro was suppose to be a very nice evening out. For reasons unknown our waiter didn't greet us for over ten minutes, never brought our water, a new waiter arrived and took our drink order finally our original waiter arrived to take our drink order...the service was off even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The food was just OK. It was a surprising bust for dinner. I will say our cocktails were very good. I would repeat for meeting friends for drinks.
Prices are higher than ever, as the food quality has declined, which means it is WAY overpriced for what it is. Zola's is 1,000% better although tough(er) to get into. Good liquor and wine selection. Service was inattentive at best, bad if I were being honest. All in all, not what I had come to expect.
