Quatrefoil Restaurant offers fine dining in downtown Dundas, Ontario. Chefs Fraser Macfarlane and Georgina Mitropoulos use local ingredients to create contemporary French cuisine in a sophisticated environment.
Since opening in May 2010, Quatrefoil Restaurant has been named among the top 10 Best New Restaurants in Canada by enRoute Magazine, and the Top 10 Best New Restaurants by Toronto Life.
Fraser and Georgina met while employed at Toronto's Scaramouche Restaurant. The two chefs then went to London, England in search of new styles and experiences. While there, the pair trained at some of Europe's top Michelin-starred establishments.
Now at home at Quatrefoil Restaurant, the couple find inspiration in the best local products to create superb seasonal menus. Their approach is to refine flavours through technique and let the ingredients stand on their own.

My wife and I enjoyed a very special wedding anniversary dinner with you, and sat beside a delightful couple with whom we chatted. Over 4 glasses of champagne I sang happy birthday to Marg, and then discovered that her husband and I share the same first name, and exactly the same date of birth! Everything about the evening was a delight. This was our first visit, but won't be our last!
The best cooking this side of Toronto. The vodka martini was perfect and I had a cocktail based on calvados and apple cider which was very tasty! The soup was fantastic. The main course was excellent. My partner had quail and I had beef rib au jus. Our waiter Jose made us feel right at home.
Without doubt this is the finest dining experience I have ever had. Starting with a very prompt and courteous greeting by our waiter. It was immediately apparent that each and every aspect of our dining experience was wonderfully thought out. Everything was tailored to the size of our party (2). Selection was terrific and the food amazing. Service was exceptionally good. I really liked how if any wait staff was passing by and noticed our water was low or whatever, they attended to it immediately. It was really a team effort. We can't wait to come. Ack and bring friends with us.

My parents live in Dundas and gave us gift certificates to visit Quatrefoil. I had visited before with one or more members of my family, but this was a first visit for my husband and I together.
We had the fixed menu ($33 for 3 courses, a glass of red or white wine was $7). I enjoyed a glass of Reisling and James had a pint of local wheat beer from across the road. I started with the calamari and my husband has the soup. It was squash with olive oil and cream. The calamari was fried with a bloody Mary sauce and some shredded greens. Our main course choices were trout with cauliflower and potatoes with a puree of squash (I think) while James had the meat loaf with a red wine reduction, potatoes, mushrooms and a sweet potato puree. We both had the chocolate bomb (banana bread crumbled with banana bread ice cream, pistachio crumble and dark chocolate.) We also shared a carafe of coffee. Each course was delicious. I never have had a bad meal or poor service ever. We were full. I mean, I needed a walk around right afterwards. Luckily, Quatrefoil is just off King Street and it was a beautiful day to walk around and visit the charming gift and other vendors that line the main drag. For the cost and the quality, Quatrefoil is a 5* restaurant all the way!
This was our second time for the 5 course tasting menu. After such an enjoyable experience last year, our group of 5 was glad to see that we could have the tasting menu again this year.
The food was exceptional from the amuse bouche to start right through to the dessert and complimentary chocolates and dessert wine.
Our server, Kyle, was fun and provided the perfect amount of attention to our needs.
Hopefully we will be back to do it again, next year.
The food was great, even though we were limited to a fixed menu given the date. The only thing we noticed was we were the first sitting and only two people, the courses took an age to come yet couples who turned up half way through our meal finished around the same time. Probably timing issues with some of the courses, given the fixed menu etc. Couldn't fault the food though and would go back to try out the full menu.
The meal was delicious. No complaints. The service, however, did not match the quality of the meal. We weren't asked what our reservation was under until we were seated after waiting in the lobby area without much direction. Once seated and we had our drinks served to us, we had to wait so long to order our meal, I had to ask a different waiter to get our waiter so that we could order. We are used to slow service in some Toronto restaurants, but not at higher end restaurants. Again, the food was exceptional and we would recommend it to friends for the food alone.
As always, an absolute amazing experience. Food was delicious, presentation was excellent, and preparation was exactly as asked. Our server was fantastic, We had the wine pairing with our meal and his selections were absolutely amazing. It is our favourite restaurant in Dundas and we are always telling our friends and acquaintances that they must try this restaurant out. It is a gem in the valley.
Fantastic evening! We were celebrating Valentine's Day and as always were not disappointed. Wonderful dinner, fantastic service and something new, a Sommelier to help pick a nice bottle of wine. It's always a treat to go to Quatrefoil - it's elegant and just a lovely, welcoming place to go for a romantic dinner - or just a casual dinner with friends.
Quatrefoil never disappoints! Exceptional food and service with great attention to detail, taste and presentation and happily caters to our gluten free needs.
This is our favourite restaurant, our family loves it for special occasions as well as just a night out, knowing we will always, without fail, be impressed and pleased with our meal!
We had a fabulous lunch prix fixe. The servings were well portioned and the flavours delicious. All plates arrived hot and tasty. Since it was my first visit, I wasn't sure what to expect but I assure you, I was impressed as my friend said I would be. It is a little gem in the beautiful town of Dundas. It's another local quality establishment which will not disappoint.
We had invited friends from Kitchener for lunch at Quatrefoil. They were blown away and so were my husband and I. Even though we live in Dundas have not been there for a while. It was a lovely dining experience one you don't get very often. The service, presentation ,food and ambience were superb. Looking forward to going back soon. Shirley R.
This was our second visit and our dining experience was outstanding just as it was the first time!!! Our server was very knowledgeable and very friendly.

Just have one suggestion that they should have vegetarian options on the menu as well so that we can recommend this fabulous restaurant to our vegetarian friends...
We held a birthday celebration for a senior family member here again. Service is always top notch. Decor is eclectic and sophisticated. Music was a tad upbeat for our senior, but everyone else enjoyed it. They do their best to make this historic build accessible for seniors.
Food was very good...although all 3 members of our party who ordered the bison noted that it was a bit chewy (perhaps this is the nature of bison meat?). The vegetarian in the group was able to find a suitable dish and they also offered to prepare something with tofu if needed. However, no specific vegetarian entree was offered. Overall, an upscale dining experience which was enjoyed by all.
Quatrefoil never fails to impress us. It Has been our favourite restaurant for 5+ years and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. If you are in the mood for a taste explosion, definitely give it a try.
The restaurant is outstanding. The food is delicious, the service unbeatable. You pay dollars for it, but it feels really cheap. The sommelier picked excellent wines that paired very well with the tasting menu. Going to Quatrefoil is a must.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I lived in Hamilton for a long time, but moved out of province a few years ago. I recommended your restaurant although I had only been there for lunch when you first opened. I'm so happy that I did as I'm certain my friends who live in the district now have found their "best restaurant " and will visit again and again. Only wish I could be so lucky!
We had a wonderful time at Quatrefoil - excellent food (loved the duck breast entree, the scallop app as well as the daily soup; the semifreddo was to die for), nice wines, and great service. Would not recommend sitting right by the bar as it gets a bit noisy when cocktails being made. Overall a great experience though! We will definitely go back!
