Quails' Gate Estate Winery - Old Vines Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I saw this restaurant on OpenTable and it looked like one I wanted to go to. Initially I couldn’t get in at a time I wanted but then checked again and found a 5:45 timeslot. The service staff was excellent. They were friendly, knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The wines were superb. I highly recommend the Bordeaux blend. It paired well with the ribeye. I will be back!
Arrived early for my reservation time and was proptly seated. Ambiance is very nice & ofcourse their wines are available for dinner. Wine prices are NOT the same as they are 30’ away in their tasting room, which I found perturbing.
Pairings are suggested with menu items, on the menu. I had the best ‘out’ meal there in memory! The Scallops on rissoto (special or feature item) was exceptionally flavourful and the scallops were cooked perfectly, opposed to little rubber pucks served elsewhere. My wife had a menu ‘staple’ which was the Cornish Game Hen. Again, many flavours that worked harmoniously to provide a fabulous taste experience!
Overall, an exceptional meal & dining experience.
Not cheap but like anything in life, you get what you pay for.
We will positively return to Quails Gate.
I can’t imagine spending my anniversary dinner in a better place. The whole experience was so lovely. The restaurant acknowledged it was our anniversary. One thing flowed into the next so nicely. Never felt like we were waiting. An evening I will never forget. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant in the future.
we go to old vine on our anniversary every year for the past 5 years. and since last year, their food become really bad. This year, we order steak and lamb shanks. the lamb is over cook and hard. the steak has no taste. the beet on the lamb is really hard. i can't even pock it with my fork.
next year, we will not going back for our anniversary.
We have eaten here numerous times for family dinners. This time we brought a guest from Holland. He was so impressed with the wines and service not to mention the food. He said it ranked up there with one of his best dining experiences. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wines and helped make it a great dining experience! We will be back!
We were warmly welcomed right from our arrival and it only got better from there! Friendly service, amazing food, perfect mood music and volume, and a wonderful way to share my love’s birthday with her. Excellent value and a priceless memorable evening, highly recommend!
We had a wonderful evening with friends at Quails gate. The ambience was lovely with a table overlooking the beautiful vineyards. The choice of food was lovely and the meal was delicious and wine as always tops. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very pleasant ...
We had an amazing experience on our date night at Old Vines. The wine was spectacular our server brought us a comparable to see the difference and it was lovely to try both. Our server was so friendly and helpful, she had a grace about her that was very refreshing. We enjoyed the food it was very flavourful and fresh, the atmosphere was serene and we have nothing but great things to say! Will definitely be coming back and requesting our friends and family to join!
Our dining experience at Quails Gate was amazing. We were able to sit by the fireplace, which was a treat. Our waiter, Daniello was pleasant, funny, professional, and added to the experience. The wine was good (I prefer reds though, and my friend picked a white). The food was phenomenal. We went for the Dine Around menu. We tried many of the options, and they all tasted amazing. I was disappointed the scallops only came with two though. Other than that, the portions were fair, and everything was good.
Excellent service from the moment we got there. Everything on time and flowed perfectly from drinks to desert.
Only complaint was my rib eye was just a ball of gristle and fat. Sent it back with one of the bussers and the waiter never bothered to come over and apologize with AMPLE opportunity. Second cut I was served was markably better but still a fair bit of gristle and tendon. Nonetheless still tipped well because the overall experience was great. Second time at this restaurant and very happy with both. We will be back!
Male server with tattoos and earings just needs to know when to apologize to a guest that CLEARLY isn’t there to complain. Thanks again
I think this is the best restaurant in Kelowna. I've tried to find one better, and have failed, and now this restaurant is my automatic choice whenever I have a special dinner planned, or, even if I just want to go out for a regular dinner outing. The food and wine is always superb and the service and facilities are as well.
Actually a very good restaurant. We enjoyed the food and the wine. The only problem we had was not really the restaurants fault. There was a very noisy and vulgar table a few tables away. After our great meal we moved over to the bar and the manager gave us free wine for the trouble. Very well done.
I enjoyed my experience for the brunch at Quails' Gate, the food was excellent and the ambiance was good. However, the sparkling wine that was recommended on the menu for our specific meal was not available and the replacement was almost doubled the price. I think that if you offer specific pairings of wine with a meal you should have that wine available! I also think that with brunch menu, the coffee should be included in the price of the meal and not an extra!!!
