Quails' Gate Estate Winery - Old Vines Restaurant
Dinner: Daily 5:00pm
We found the food mediocre and over priced. 2 small scallops for $20 as a starter ! Barely any veggies/potato with mains. Not living up to the hype !
The service was terrible
We booked over two months ago for our 16 th anniversary and our 52 anniversary we requested a windows table and called that day with the request did not get a window
Service was slow. Food was alright but not worth the money. Had to ask for stuff twice forgot our tea. Took over 20 mins to pay
Didn’t even offer a complimentary desert for the four of us to share for the occasion
The setting is beautiful and would recommend it to people in the area wanting to visit the winery . Sitting out on the patio is absolutely gorgeous . We had to sit inside for dinner due to the rain but the ambience inside is really lovely too . The service was great . The food was ok but nothing special . My husband got the scallop appetizer and there were 2 scallops in sauce for 20.00!
The entrees were pricey for the food that was average . We still were happy we went as the setting is so special
When in Kelowna I always try to have a meal at Quails Gate. The food is consistently excellent and the service is wonderful.
Une experience remarquable avec une vue imprenable, des vins fins et une cuisine recherchée!
Have gone to Quails’ Gate restaurant for more than a decade on and off and they never fail to disappoint. Service is impeccable, food is delicious, and wine pairings are great. Great date spot but also great to go with friends and family.
A great place, great food, great view and setting, and excellent service. Coped well with gluten free. The food and wine pairings were excellent and the customer service excellent.
We love Quails Gate, on this trip though our server in particular gave off the impression that she didn't want us there. Dampened the mood for what was supposed to be an intimate birthday. Every other server seemed fine though, I should add that our server's other tables made a similar comment.
Our experience at Old Vines was excellent. Food and wine were very enjoyable, and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely go back.
The food was exceptional, but it took over an hour for our dinner to arrive, which was a tiny bummer. Overall, fantastic restaurant!
Great food and service. Great presentation and of course Quails Gate fine wine access.
What a beautiful spot. And the food was amazing. Top notch.
Great Lunches and mains but the dessert was a bit underwhelming. Would be better if we just stuck with no dessert.
The staff was friendly and the view excellent. The food was incredible and presented beautifully. The price was very high in comparison to other similar venues in Kelowna. My wife and I were there for a very special occasion which I documented when booking the reservation however there was no recognition by the staff, which was a disappointing conclusion to the evening.
A very good lunch menu selection.....something for everyone. The oysters were absolutely delicious; freshly grated radish made them spectacular. Beautiful scenery overlooking the vineyard. The music was a bit loud for a lunchtime room that was not very full.
Fantastic experience! We were visiting from just outside wine country in the Niagara, Ontario area and could not be more impressed! Everything was amazing! Lunch at Quail’s Gate with friends and family and then to the tasting bar to finish off the visit! Could not have asked for a better time! Cheers!
Wonderful lunch on the patio overlooking the lake.
Very professional, attentive service.
We lucked out getting last reservation available for tonight and ended up with a great table! Always awesome service and great menu selection. Totally worth the splurge for a special evening 😊
It might be nice if a restaurant of this caliber could create a separate space for large bachelorette groups so as not to disrupt the overall ambiance of this otherwise lovely space. Once they came in we could no longer hear ourselves speak, but thankfully we just sat back and enjoyed our food.
Bad meal and service below average, waitress said there were problems in the kitchen. Waited 1.5 hours for our entrees which were both substandard and tasteless. Complained and our entrees weren’t charged which was ok but not enough to ever return. Too many other good restaurants around
My boyfriend had some very particular dietary needs (IBS) and the chef not only was able to fully accommodate his needs, but also did it without sacrificing the taste and the presentation of his dishes. This is by far our best loved restaurants to dine at -- rivalling even the ones in Vancouver! Best value for food, service and ambiance!
Great experience, view, service and excellent food!
Love this place. One of our favourites always excellent wines and great food.
Quail's Gate has been our "go to" for 15 or more years when we want a treat. We first tried QG The food, the view, ambiance and service make the tradition memorable.when the restaurant was open only during the summer months and the wine tasting room was the cabin on the corner. Much has changed at QG but the restaurant remains a treat.
Absolutely amazing service from Jennifer and incredible food!
I had been looking forward to trying Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate Estate Winery for awhile. I finally went for lunch with my Mum. I was quite disappointed with my meal. I had the daily soup to start (a zucchini dill) which turned out to be the highlight of my meal. I had the wild boar for my main...nothing was wrong with it per se, but I found the portion size to be very small, especially for the price. I had the ‘peach’ dessert to finish. I was not impressed with it either. I found the combination of peach and milk chocolate to be a bit bizarre and it came in a small jar so it was very difficult to eat. Perhaps my expectations were too high after hearing such amazing things about this place. It wasn’t awful, but I won’t be in a hurry to return either.
Beautiful ambience and super delicious food. The dessert was to die for, I forgot about my diet and just gobbled the entire Black Forest cake. Service was out of the world , hostess served us complimentary glass of Reisling.
Thank you Old Vines for a memorable evening. The ambience was perfect, the view divine and the food delicious. Our server (Amy) was knowledgeable and very helpful with our dinner choices. We had two 14 year olds with us and you blew them away with how flavourful and delicious everything was. We all left feeling satisfied and full BUT not stuffed (which is a good thing). We will be back.
By far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Service and food were both exceptional! Post dinner wine in the vineyard was perfect as well
The whole dining experience is unbelievable; great service, food, wine, and setting.
Thanks for the amazing evening!
We have gone many times in the past years and again this year was not disappointment... Amazing location with delicious food, wine and friendly service!!
Good food and excellent ambiance, service Outstanding
Fantastic environment, good service. Overall very satisfied with our dinner, only the game hen not that great, I think they can do that better.
A delicious leisurely 3 course lunch at this scenic restaurant. Staff friendly, service great and always try a new dish. Loved our burrata and grilled peaches starter.
For the price of the food it was not playful or innovative. The waiter seemed a bit tired. The location is great, but the food lacks charisma.
This was our second visit in two years and it did not disappoint.
We book way ahead of time as we were spending 2 days in the Kelowna area and wanted to eat at Quails' Gate since the reviews were good and we could walk from our B&B. Normally, the view would have been lovely except that the smoke from BC fires kept the lake unseen. Our waiter was a nice chap from Australia who was attentive. We both ordered the same meal. The tuna appetizer was almost too small to see with three tiny tuna pieces with celery and radish slivers. It was tasty, but at $17, it was not worth it.
The entrée was the salmon. The portion was larger than the tuna, but both of our salmon's pieces were undercooked - almost raw. We told the waiter and his only comment was 'I will tell the chef.' Given the price of $34 for the dish, it should have been taken back with an apology. The bed of small potatoes and veggies was nicely done. Our wine flights (whites) were from the estate, but priced way too high for 1.5 oz (x4) at $17. Given that the wines come from their winery, they should have prices their wine list lower to get the diners to imbibe more of their wine and possibly purchase bottles at their tasting room next door.
So, a disappointing meal given the press. We had a much more enjoyable meal at nearby Mission Hill the previous night. Competition is gaining on this restaurant!
Vary nice restaurant along with the wine tasting room. Food was very very good and we ended up buying some of the Quail's Gate reserve wines as well. We'd go back anytime.
Amazing customer service, beautiful location, and all around the best time to celebrate with friends
Delicious food, pretty restaurant! I highly recommend.
