The New York Times (October 2006) - "Beyond our tables, the panorama of the lakefront, watercraft wake lines and row upon row of grapevines, with mountains in the distance, was mesmerizing." Wine Spectator (July 2004)- "One of the four best places to dine in the Okanagan."

We were sad there was no cheese on the couturier board and not a lot of flavour to the salmon. But the view was amazing

Everything was great actually but both of us felt our lunch entrees were under seasoned. I had the ling cod ( which could of been bigger for $25) and my friend had the pork cheeks. The Black Forest ice cream was a bit confused as well with no real flavor profile to identify,

Other then that, everything else was quite good. Oh well, better next time I hope.

As always Quails Gate is a memorable experience. The food, wine and service is impeccable. Add in the view of the vineyard over looking the lake and mountains. Spectacular!

The oysters on the half-shell were fantastic. My wife got the sable fish and loved it. I got the ribeye and it was stellar. For dessert, I highly recommend the cheese board!

The location is amazing, we sat on the patio and had a beautiful view of the vineyards. Our server was very friendly but he seemed very busy and was not as attentive to our table as we had hoped. The wine was fantastic but the meals were okay, nothing extraordinary but we would definitely come again for the ambiance alone.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. The food was beautifully prepared. The service was excellent! Their wine selection is beyond wonderful, I ended up buying a bottle at the end of the night. We did have an issue with our card payment at the end of the night I accidentally brought the wrong Credit Card but out waitress, Alannah was so polite and helpful. She let me run to my B&B and grab the right one. This place exceeded my expectations. The food is pricy but it is worth it because of the quailty.

It’s possible that Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate has the most stunning setting in all of the Okanagan. I’ve been to lots of wineries in the valley and have never been so wowed as I was by our beautiful patio table at Old Vines. The food was very good - not exceptional, but everything was flavourful and well done, and perhaps a bit overpriced for what it was - compared to other upscale dining in Kelowna (Waterfront Wines, Raudz) I thought it was a bit lacking, sometimes missing the right amount of acid or salt on the mains that both I and my guest had. But there was nothing not worth eating, and their special halibut ceviche appetizer was as delicious as it was beautiful. It’s the view that would bring me back again.

Excellent location and I am sure wines. But for those like me, who do not indulge, some high-end de-alcoholised beer such as Erdinger Alkoholfrei, available from Container World in 500 ml bottles with accompanying reserved glasses for weissbier, would be genuinely recommended. You would make a whole segment AND designated drivers feel special by stocking such a fine product. Heads and shoulder above anything else on the market. Thank you.

This place sings! The food, wine, view and service were amazing. I highly recommend this place to everyone. If you're on a budget you have the option of bringing a picnic on their greenery and enjoying a glass/bottle of wine.

the meal was underwhelming, everything was a bit bland. There was an event below and although the setting is nice there was quite a bit of foot traffic that made for a less then romantic dinner.

We started the evening by going for wine tasting. We did not realize it was close to closing as the lady told us to head over for a taste. We waited and when didn't get service right away we moved over to another couple so we could start. The young server was pleasant and helpful but another server came over when we were about to have our last tasting to say they are now closed and wasn't going to let him pour for us. It put him in a awkward position and us. We told him that we are on our last one and he was fairly rude but allowed the server to pour. We did not buy any wine and this was not a good way to start our experience. We headed over to the restaurant and we were early. They said they would get us into the lounge as soon as possible and that it wouldn't be too long for a table. She told us they had a lovely table for us but then gave it to another couple. It was a bit of a wait to get a drink in the lounge and then when we kind of mentioned it the bar tender was more than attentive. Our server was lovely and knowledgeable. The food was good with excellent sauces. Dessert was reasonable but thought it would have been better for this class of restaurant. I rated the service average due to the first few interactions as our food server was excellent.

We ordered the Bison Cappaccio and Asparagus to start followed by the Halibut and Lamb, then desserts and coffee. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyable. From the moment we entered the restaurant the staff were friendly, knowledgable and attentive without being intrusive. Despite the rain, the view across the vines and lake was amazing. In brief a very delightful evening.

Not worth the money. Essentially, you pay for the incredibly beautiful location and romantic movie-like setting but the food is extremely disappointing.
Menu is boring, very limited and too obvious. Déjà vu, déjà vu and déjà vu. No fantasy, no passion, no creativity.
Reminds of a typical franchised Canadian restaurant chain.
Kids menu doesn’t make any sense to the point that kids should not be technically allowed.
Restaurant was cold with air conditioning blasting although it was barely 20 degrees outside.
Prices are ridiculous for what you are getting and you leave the restaurant hungry.
And the best part is the cost of their wines: $80+ per bottle to begin with....you would think that at their own vineyard/winery prices would be a little more accommodating.
Dulcis in fundu: my game hen was raw and undercooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen.
I recommend going there to check out the winery, the incredibly beautiful setting but avoiding the restaurant.
Not worth it.

This was our first time at the restaurant. We had high expectations based on reviews. The food and ambiance delivered however service was not great. Two of our guests were not able to enjoy wine that day and they would have loved a beer but we didn't discover that beer was an option until we noticed someone drinking a beer at another table. Our waiter was slow to bring menus and the tab and never offered us another option other than the wine list.

The staff were pleasant. We were greeted/welcomed almost as soon as we were off of the parking lot.
We were hoping to be seated outside (and noted this on our reservation) but were offered indoor seating with the windows opened. The next couple after us made the same request and were immediately transferred. Thankfully, we were at an okay corner and were more focused on the occasion we're celebrating so we just let this pass.
