The restaurant has a very limited menu leaving little selection at relatively highy prices.
Delicious food without being “fussy”. Relaxed atmosphere and extremely attentive service without being cloying. Exactly what I expect from a downtown hotel restaurant. Everything is excellent every time we go.
We had dinner for NYE, all went as planned. The food and service was excellent. I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic evening, the atmosphere is modern and upbeat, great for a group gathering or an upbeat lunch or dinner as a couple. It’s a solid 5 stars
First of all, you made a reservation when the Pyramid is not open. Secondly, it was for a brunch and only the International Banquet room was open from 10 - 2. We were lucky to be seated in the Banquet Room which was not what we wanted. We wanted something a bit more intimate. They did say you (Open Table) have been screwing up between the Banquet Room and the Pyramid Restaurant. This was very disappointing, especially for the amount they charged.
We came last year and we loved this place and loved the food. However, this year, there were less food selection and variety. They even removed the kids Buffett, crepes section, and so many more for the same price like last year. It was expensive and not worth it. I will not reserve to dine in this restaurant next year.
I made reservation for Christmas lunch. In spite of the fact that I received a confirmation for the Pyramid Room, when we arrived, we were advised that the Pyramid Room was closed and that lunch was being served in the International Ballroom. Of course I was shocked that this kind of change was made without notice on such an important day. Still, we decided to go with it. When we arrived at the ballroom we were advised that Open Table reservations had been lost. Nevertheless, they had a table. When we entered the room I was stunned. I could not believe people would pay to have lunch in such a sterile and tasteless space on Christmas. We immediately left. I was able to salvage the day by putting together a small lunch at home. Never again!
Our reservation was made and confirmed through OpenTable in the usual manner for Saturday evening 12/22/2018. The reservation was made about a week in advance and there was no indication of anything unusual. Upon arrival, we learned that the restaurant had shut down for the holiday season and was not available to us. No notice whatsoever was provided, and we were left with no option but to dine in the hotel bar, as we were headed to the theater and had no time available in which to hunt up a viable alternative. This was a birthday dinner, we were very disappointed in both the restaurant and the Open Table system.
We went to Pyramid for brunch on a Saturday with friends, one of whom was starring in a show at the Winspear. We made a reservation that allowed ample time for a meal prior to the time she had to be at the venue. We ended up crunched for time - everything was sooo slooow. The restaurant had only a couple of other patrons, so it's not like it was busy. There was no table set up for four, so they had to change it. Waited for the server, who then had to be reminded twice to bring the coffee one in our party had ordered. Waited some more for the food; late in that time block, someone randomly showed up with bread, I guess because they were worried that we'd start complaining? Once the food came it was fine; nothing special but as described and good quality. Then we waited some more and flagged down a different server (ours had dematerialzed) to get the to-go drink we'd ordered at the same time we placed the main order. Then had to flag someone down for the check. I was really looking forward to a smooth and sophisticated dining experience . . . if that's what you're after, try someplace else.
We went for the Thanksgiving dinner, it was absolutely great, first class all the way! I have eaten here before at a different occasion and it was great then. I wanted to last year but something came up.i will definitely go again. The valet parking extremely convenient and they validated my parking. If you want a first class experience with great food, this is the place. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable. But it's not just him. There is an entire staff there for anything you need. The maitre D was very nice and very helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place can't wait to go back
Aunt and Uncle, my husband and I spent almost $400 for a very disappointing Thanksgiving Dinner. Although the food was tasty, it was allowed to get cold and the layout made it a challenge to enjoy all of the options. Service was severely lacking as some of the people dressed as waitstaff seemed to speak no English at all. I must add that on top of the $70/ charge there was also a 24% built in gratuity. We will be crossing the Fairmont off our list of places to dine for the Holidays.
It was a wonderful Thanksgiving buffet. It had something for everybody. Service was very good.
All food was cold. No ham. Rolls could be used for aggregate in concrete. I have been many times over the years for Mother's Day and special events. This is probably my last visit. Way over priced for the quality
Went to Thanksgiving dinner at 1:30 for third year. It was terrible. The food was worse than we could imagine. Lumpy, half cooked mashed potatoes, scraps of turkey that we normally throw out, cold green beans and I could go on. The desserts were mediocre...at best. The server dropped the only piece of pumpkin pie... so no pie for us! For the price paid... we expect great food. Bah Humbug!
But, the food was not the worst.
The service was incredibly poor. Just terrible. Waiters did not speak English well, were not attentive and never thanked us.
But, the service was not the worst feature. That was the 24% gratuity. Good grief. We would have paid gladly as in the past if the waiters had even been half way friendly.
Never again. For sure! We do not love punishment that much!

Great thanksgiving buffet with great service. A little pricey but the best Thanksgiving Buffet we’ve found.
Best part of the food might have been the bacon station. Everything tasted the same, except for the bacon.
Dining room seemed sparse. Great service from waiters.
Very enjoyable meal. Our server was old school, and evidently has been there for years. Polished, considerate and attentive. Helpful in suggesting food and wine pairing. Helped make the meal a pleasure. Nice choice of Texas wines. Food came out promptly but unrushed. All the courses we're fresh and tasteful and artfully presented. Only reason for four stars was that menu is a bit limited. Restaurant is a bit close to the bar that can be noisy at times. Overall this was a fine meal
Oklahoma football game and this was the worst service we had, Slow getting service to order food and there was only 3 other small tables. VERY DISAPPOINTING
Very well done. . . enjoyable and tasty. . . the cocktails were stout, and the presentation professional and friendly. . . one of the better eateries I've been to in Dallas. . . thx
can only speak for their breakfast - which was amazing. I took advantage of their breakfast buffet which includes a variety of breakfast items from eggs, breakfast potatoes & bacon to bagels & lox and yogurt. Service was spot on, even the restaurant manager stopped by (addressed me by name) to see how everything was. Would totally recommend their breakfast and am looking forward to returning for lunch & dinner
Disappointed thought I had booked for restaurant week. Was excited as this was my first time there. The waitress informed us when she gave us the menu they didn’t honor restaurant week menu on Sunday. There was nothing on the website stating this. We ending up eating from brunch menu. Spent a lot more than planned for food that wasn’t that good. Don’t plan to return
I was going on a date with my husband and was looking for a very nice and special place for restaurant week. I didn't realize that the restaurant was part of a hotel. The restaurant was big and open to the lobby of the hotel - which between the noise of the tourists and the noise from the bar made the place quite loud. There were probably 4 tables with people in the whole restaurant and two of those tables included guests of the hotel with little kids and parents in tank tops and flip flops. The menu was incredibly limited. There were more dessert options than entrees. The only good thing about the restaurant was our waiter. Total disappointment.
Coworkers and I ate at the Pyramid for DFW Restaurant Week. The food was delicious and the pricing for the restaurant week lunch menu was a good value. The service was great and the music was low so we could have a conversation while dining. The restaurant also offers free valet service so we didn't have to spend time looking for parking.
Food is ok, not great. Staff is attentive. Very quiet.
We had dinner for our birthday and anniversary. The menu we had was for Restaurant week and everything was superb. Highly recommended
Wait staff was very good and professional. Not bothersome. Person seating us put us in another area from a table with a bunch of loud children. I appreciated that due to the nature of our breakfast meeting.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
We had a wonderful breakfast with a family friend on her 88th birthday. The food was everything we would have expected and the staff went above and beyond to make our celebration special.
It is nice but since it is part of Fairmont Hotel, i expect more but it is not special enough
Pre Theater dinner on Thursday. We both had ceasar salads which were excellent. The scallops and the burger were both delicious. The recommended Calif Sauvignon Blanc wine was also perfect. We were running late so unable to stay for dessert.
Gustavo was an excellent waiter!! In fact, seeing his service oriented Service reminds me of how Jesus served us and I am grateful for our experience at the restaurant!
The menu was exceedingly limited for what purports to be a first class hotel restaurant, and they were closed the night we arrived; when we did finally dine there, they were out of the only non steak option. Thus, one was essentially left with a menu of sandwiches or burgers from which to choose. If they are to survive, they will need to dramatically increase the quality and options.
We had a great experience at Pyramid. Would definitely return.
An excellent dinner with excellent service.
Nothing stuffy about it. Upscale dining in a relaxed atmosphere. We had s great time and look forward to returning.
This is one of our favorite downtown restaurants. There is always something new to try on the menu. The waitstaff is absolutely wonderful.
The Pyramid was consistent with the excellent service at the Fairmont. There is a lot of attention to detail which sets them apart from the average restaurant. They had looked at our preference for a quiet area and we were seated appropriately.
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to a limited menu, but there is still variety.
The flatbread was perfect! Pesto balance perfect with cherry tomatoes and crust. Not enough pasta with the chicken dish my husband ordered, but the dish was flavorful and presented well.
Service was impeccable! Polite, but not intrusive.
When in the area, we will return to try the burger.
Food at a hotel. Not bad but not a y thing special.
Food was definitely average for the price. Had the shrimp risotto It was on the salty side. Caesar salad was excellent as was the blueberry tart for dessert. Service was also quite good.
Very disappointed. Loud noise from bar carries into restaurant making conversation difficult. Decor nothing special. Food was expensive but mediocre, the shrimp risotto was a horrid green color and the ceasar salad barely edible. With one exception (Gustavo was wonderful!) the staff looked unhappy to be there and service was slow despite the restaurant being less than half full. Having stayed at other Fairmont properties we were expecting a much better experience than this. Not planning to go back to Pyramid.
Very loud, very expensive. We were one of three tables in the room and the water was empty most of the time, and food took forever to arrive.
Had only 30 minutes to spare for lunch and had a hankering for the humus here. Placed my order in the special instructions section, along with my time limit. Was served within 3 minutes of being seated and was walking out 30 minutes later. Love this restaurant and the Open Table app!
Nice restaurant for a romantic date. Quiet place for conversation. Food was excellent.
