PY Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
PY is one of our favorite places for special occasions because not only do you get to enjoy amazing food, but it is conveniently located in the midst of amazing fun. Our most recent meal there was wonderful, as always. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Prices seem to have gone up a little (not surprising with wage increases), but i was disappointed to see that the sides (at least the asparagus) are not really enough to share. For $8 we got 5 pieces of asparagus. I remember when we could order a side and share it. Other than that, the service was wonderful and we enjoyed our meal. Definitely will go back for our next special occasion.
The staff was very pleasant but mostly the most professional service I have ever experienced. This was the highlight of the evening. The wine sauce on the short-rib special was to die for - unfortunately there were too many potatoes and not much meat. The lamb chops very generous and fantastic. They didn't have the wine I ordered so they upgraded at no extra charge - very generous "glasses". Bottom line: Wonderful evening.
Ambiance and noise level for a Casino restaurant was exceptionally pleasant.
One of the best steaks I have ever had and I have been to some fabulous steak houses across the nation.
The pave potato’s were also superior to what I’ve had at other restaurants.
My only issue were the cocktails the Cosmo and Long Island were extremely sour so we changed to vodka sodas and were happy.
Impeccable service. Delicious food. Great wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We were initially seated in the wine room next to the main dining area. It’s a smaller, more intimate room, which suited us just fine. However, a larger, and very loud, party arrived as we were enjoying our appetizers and that intimacy soon disappeared. The staff could not have been more accommodating when we commented and immediately moved us to a quiet booth in the dining room. The service was top notch and friendly. Food was delicious- the cauliflower gratin was divine! Would absolutely return.
Food has been going downhill for last 9 months. Steaks used to be best in Tucson. Now they compare with Outback as far as quality and taste. Ordered 2 sides which they forgot to enter in when the order was placed. We received them just about the time we were finishing our steak and were told that there would be no charge for something we didn't even get to enjoy. Restaurant was not busy at all. Have crossed this off our list of places to go to dinner. To bad used to really enjoy the food.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here last night. The new chef has modernized the menu and it's terrific: honeyed figs with foie gras, calamari in a delicious sweet chili sauce, a light but flavorful oyster mushroom salad, tomahawk double pork chop, and surprisingly non-greasy duck fat donuts with and outstanding foie caramel. The service was impeccable, too. We'll have to check out their special Chef's Night Dinners and their special events like the Halloween night dinner with the special offal and beer pairing menu.
What a wonderful experience. We were treated like special people, service was wonderful and very responsive. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the food was so good and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our evening very much will be returning again and again.
We had EXCELLENT service. Dean & Laura were so attentive but not intrusive! The cocktails we had were good. The seafood tower was great! The crab legs were so tasty. The shrimps were large. On the steak, we had the ribeye. It was prepared medium rare like we asked but the taste/flavor was just OK. I wish I could say it was great but I've had better. It wasn't bad either. I just had a higher expectation from the reviews. We had a good overall experience so we'll come back again.
We were promptly seated and in a booth which was requested. We ordered drinks for before the meal but they didn't show up until we finally saw our waitress and reminded her. The meal came earlier than anticipated which is not a complaint but we had no time to finish the drinks.
The baked potato was garnished when it arrived but everything melted together which left a large lump on the top. As usual the vegetables were barely cooked so we skipped them. The entree was excellent. We ordered dessert which was excellent but way too large to finish.
Overall we enjoyed the meal and we received value for our cost.
OMG........Wonderful. This is an amazing restaurant. Beautiful, quiet and right in the middle of a really great Casino. The Filet Mignon was the best I have had since I moved here to Tucson 3 years ago. That includes Fleming's and Sullivan's. Great drinks and service was excellent. Our waiter s name is Anton and we highly recommend him. He is the epitome of want a person should be in a really great restaurant. Anton Knows about every item on the menu and will guide you to one of the best meals you will ever have. When you sit down at the table a young lady brought us a Trio of Salts with a slice of toasted bread topped with a berry compote. I cant say enough about PY Steakhouse, We look forward to our next visit.
Enjoyed dinner at PY Steakhouse with my husband and friends. One of us ordered the prime rib (special on Wednesday) and it was cooked perfectly. Other entrees included scallops (small but tasty), halibut (delicious) and lamb (a hearty portion). We also ordered the pork belly appetizer, which was tasty and cooked well. Other than the fact that one must pass through the casino (yes, there's smoking), the atmosphere is lovely. A nice place to go for a special occasion, a little pricey for every-day dining out.
Restaurant was very good. We had a 4 oclock seating and would have liked to have a cocktail at the bar before sitting down to dinner. But every time we go there the bar is not open or the bartender is not ready to serve anyone and that is really annoying and something should be done about that.
Exemplary service from start to finish. We were driving in from out of town and called to see if we could move our reservation back by 30 minutes. The staff member was friendly and professional - she said that she would change our reservation and would add a note that we might be late. Once we arrived, we only had 45 minutes for dinner (we also had reservations for a show that night). The service person assured us that we could dine comfortably in that amount of time and then delivered on that promise. Excellent, attentive service during the meal. The food was excellent. The steak was properly cooked. The sides (the cauliflower gratin and the mushrooms) were well-seasoned and delicious. The atmosphere was very comfortable. We'll dine here again next time we're in Tucson.
Service was excellent. Enjoyed the niceties of the specialty breads, three types of butter, three types of sea salt, three flavored water options. Great prime rib dinner deal - Wednesdays $25 with $4 glass of wine, complimentary birthday dessert was delicious too.
This is my #1 "Go To Place" to take out-of-town visitors, very special occasions or for the best steak in town. Even reserving a table is special because they ask your preferences in seating accommodations, location or any special dietary needs. The friendliness of the entire staff welcomes you in and every need is attended to and the knowledge of their product is as detailed as you want it to be. I've tried several items on the menu and each was superb but I keep going back to their steak, always cooked to perfection with several choices of rubs available. Sides are varied, plentiful and always flavored and seasoned. If I have to list anything resembling a negative about PY it would have to be the dessert menu. Too many delicious and unique dishes to chose from for an already "full of great food" customer. The only remedy I have found for this is to eat dessert first.
