PY Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious and we enjoyed the evening except for our waitress, I am not a very picky person but we waited about 30 minutes for the check and had to ask another waitress to get it for us. We paid with a hundred dollar bill and had the other waitress to take it to her. In the meantime we thought she had gone home because we had to hunt her for our change. We always leave more than is expected for a tip but not that time. Glad we weren't in a hurry!! Was very disappointed
I enjoyed my food at PY Steakhouse. The food was good. My steak was a bit overcooked, but everyone at the table had their steak cooked perfectly. The only complaint I have was the service. It took a long time to get our drinks and we waited a long time to get our water glasses filled. The venue was not that busy, so I couldn't understand why it took 20 minutes to get a drink. Otherwise, the atmosphere and the food was very good.
The best streak house in town. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by name. The servers were all very personable, and knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The chef even brought out dishes for us and answered questions for us.
The atmosphere is fine dining but very comfortable, where we felt welcome to dine and enjoy our time without any rush to hurry and turn a table for a second reservation.
Menu was classic and adventurous, suitable for any palate. PY Steakhouse is farm to table and uses local ingredients . They change their menu seasonally, so we will be back sooner than later. Both food and service this restaurant rates at the top of the game.
Drink service very slow, and one drink never showed. Prime rib was excellent, perfectly cooked. Very disappointed in their dessert menu. Had a fabulous dessert the last time we were there, but it was not on the menu this time. Was told they are always changing the menu. Quite truthfully, if it wasn't for their prime rib special we wouldn't go there. Everything else is VERY expensive. I don't mind paying for a great meal, but I expect great ambience too. I also don't like having to walk through the very smoky casino to get to the restaurant.
Overall good dining experience, however some ordered food items were not up to par for this quality restaurant. The wine ordered by my wife was sour, and the black trouffle bisque was almost solid, more of a thick mush. The filet mignon was perfect as expected from a Forbes four star restaurant. Service was very good but carried out exclusively by the Server's assistant including ordering, serving, and attention to our requests and questions. The explanation was that the Server was "backed-up" with other tables (at 7PM early dining) and would cause us an unnecessary delay. The Server did introduce himself when we were almost finished, and simply asked if everything was OK? His assisant should have received the entire generous tip we added to our bill.
We enjoy going to PY at least once a month if not more and each time it only gets better and the food is amazing as is the service and ambiance. Phillip was our waiter and made sure the evening was special since it was my birthday and I could not have been happier. I consider PY as one of the top 3 steakhouses in Tucson if not Arizona. I look forward to going back there in January. I would recommend all of my friends to consider PY as the place to go.
We enjoyed our dinners - prime rib special for Christmas and short ribs. Our first two wine selections were not available but had not been removed from the wine list. The room became noisier as dinner progressed bit we would still hear each other. Wait staff was pleasant and did not hover.
This is the first time we have ever been less than thrilled with PY after years of loyalty. I won't get too down on the place for having an off night. My guess is that the head chef was not working or was off his game because everything in the restaurant business starts in the kitchen and trickles down from there. I still recommend it for a date or just a quiet and unrushed upscale meal.
The table was not set when we walked in. The waiter never came back to fill out wine when it was low. The waitress didn't know the menu, and couldn't tell us anything about it. We had to ask for our butter, and the waiter who brought us butter had attitude. The plates were cold when they were brough out, and the steaks we paid $50 for went cold quick. The baked patatoes were so hard and the mushrooms were burned. We had to send them all back. The waiter forgot my boyfriends drink and he had to ask twice to see when we'd get it. After we complained about the sides and how awful they were, the hostess and host at the front who said he was the manager we're looking towards our table and blantanly talking about us. It was so obvious I felt uncomfortable. I mentioned how unprofessional it was to him. Not one waiter came and asked if if we needed anything else throughout our meal but we did get a "how was it?". I don't make a lot of money and I came here to celebrate my dads birthday with my family, and the experience was not to par as a casino 5 star restaurant should be. For $350 dollars, I am more upset I spent that kind of money at PY Steakhouse. All I can say is get it together, waste of money spent here.
We took my sister to PY for her birthday. Our server heard us talking about that and made sure to wish my sister a happy birthday and offered her a complimentary dessert that came with a chocolate Happy Birthday "card".
We have been here before and have always had great service and very good food. The Wednesday night prime rib special is an especially affordable way to enjoy a night out.
Anniversary celebration: casino, spa, sun and Wed prime rib special. Excellent food and wine. At least 5 different waiters served us ; a tad chaotic when trying to get our bill.
We have dined on Wed at PY probably 4 times. Last spring we had a mediocre experience. Happy to report on our pleasant meal.
For the price I feel like I should have had tasty, tender PRIME steak, not supermarket quality choice cut steak that was chewy. I chose the Cowboy Ribeye which was supposedly a 28 day dry aged steak.....not a chance in hell could an aged steak be so low in flavor and so tough. Very disappointing.
