PY Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We ate a PY 2 nights in a row. Wednesday's they have a 10 oz. prime rib with veggies & baked potato for $25.00. The prime rib was fantastic and we were commenting that is look more than a 10 oz. piece.
Then we went the next night. I had the boneless rib eye which was so tender and cooked to perfection and my husband got the NY strip, which he raved about also.
The staff is exceptional and very accommodating. The wine list is outstanding.
This place is definitely a do-over MANY times over.
One of us tried the March Apricot celebration menu, and it was amazingly delicious, the appetizer was awesome. The other had the filet...so tender and tasty! ... Oh, and the bread and different butters to start out with...we knew we were in for something good!
Parents and my wife wanted to enjoy a special night at Casino Del Sol. $300 meal with tip and two sides removed left me Hungary. Meats were not cooked as asked for the 6oz and my 16 oz was almost oily with too much marble. Daily Chef veg. Spec was spicy and the service was inexperienced and absolutely horrid. With reserved seating @ 7pm it still took 20 min for water, 40 min for cocktails and bread. This was a 2.5 hr experience I'll never get back.
Visiting the area and chose this restaurant based on reviews. Food was excellent - both my husband and I had steaks. Prepared perfectly and delicious. Unfortunately, the service was just okay but equivalent to what you'd get at a chain restaurant. For example, the waitress handed us the wine list from her position serving the adjacent table and handed it to me (not my husband) over my head. Additional professional training of wait staff is suggested for them to be qualified to serve in a higher quality restaurant.
We are casino people who have eaten at PY many times. Unfortunately, this was our worst experience there in 4 years. The service was strange...the rolls were presented after the entrees were served, and we were only offered one glass of wine by a server who was only seen when we were seated and when our bill was presented...the restaurant manager came by to see how things were when we were first seated, but not yet served, never to be seen again. My wife and I ordered the prime rib special this night, but we have ordered lavishly at other times, and the beef was a big disappointment on this night. My piece was small and more than a third of it was inedible grizzle and fat...it had been microwaved. My wife's piece was larger, but still grizzle-y and fatty...her medium-rare order was literally RAW on one side and okay on the other half...we would say it had been microwaved. We are both world travelers and eaters...this wasn't a good effort at all by PY.
Food was good as always. Usually have Philip as a server who recommends a good wine at a great price and is very attentive. He was not working so we had Amanda as a server. She was excellent as well. The wine she recommended was superb for the price. Only negative was the price for my wife's vegetarian food was overpriced. Designated as open order.
The food was delicious and we enjoyed the evening except for our waitress, I am not a very picky person but we waited about 30 minutes for the check and had to ask another waitress to get it for us. We paid with a hundred dollar bill and had the other waitress to take it to her. In the meantime we thought she had gone home because we had to hunt her for our change. We always leave more than is expected for a tip but not that time. Glad we weren't in a hurry!! Was very disappointed
I enjoyed my food at PY Steakhouse. The food was good. My steak was a bit overcooked, but everyone at the table had their steak cooked perfectly. The only complaint I have was the service. It took a long time to get our drinks and we waited a long time to get our water glasses filled. The venue was not that busy, so I couldn't understand why it took 20 minutes to get a drink. Otherwise, the atmosphere and the food was very good.
The best streak house in town. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by name. The servers were all very personable, and knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The chef even brought out dishes for us and answered questions for us.
The atmosphere is fine dining but very comfortable, where we felt welcome to dine and enjoy our time without any rush to hurry and turn a table for a second reservation.
Menu was classic and adventurous, suitable for any palate. PY Steakhouse is farm to table and uses local ingredients . They change their menu seasonally, so we will be back sooner than later. Both food and service this restaurant rates at the top of the game.
Drink service very slow, and one drink never showed. Prime rib was excellent, perfectly cooked. Very disappointed in their dessert menu. Had a fabulous dessert the last time we were there, but it was not on the menu this time. Was told they are always changing the menu. Quite truthfully, if it wasn't for their prime rib special we wouldn't go there. Everything else is VERY expensive. I don't mind paying for a great meal, but I expect great ambience too. I also don't like having to walk through the very smoky casino to get to the restaurant.
Overall good dining experience, however some ordered food items were not up to par for this quality restaurant. The wine ordered by my wife was sour, and the black trouffle bisque was almost solid, more of a thick mush. The filet mignon was perfect as expected from a Forbes four star restaurant. Service was very good but carried out exclusively by the Server's assistant including ordering, serving, and attention to our requests and questions. The explanation was that the Server was "backed-up" with other tables (at 7PM early dining) and would cause us an unnecessary delay. The Server did introduce himself when we were almost finished, and simply asked if everything was OK? His assisant should have received the entire generous tip we added to our bill.
