Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel
Situated in the magnificent courtyard of the Colony Palms Hotel, the restaurant design evokes the glamour of the 1930’s and 40’s when the Colony Palms was “the” place to be seen in Palm Springs. Amazing food, stunning decor, mountain views, and gracious service…what more can be said?
Wonderful ambience, food, and drinks!
Lovely place! Great for lunch by the pool!
Wonderful setting, good food but pricey for the amount of food!
Great place for special occasions!
We loved it and will definitely return. Our daughter, who lives in Oakland, was thinking about coming back for her 50th Birthday celebration!
Beautiful place that is calming to enjoy a wonderful meal. Everyone working there is incredibly attentive and super nice. Food was delicious
This was a great dining experience in Palm Springs, nestled away from all the activity on Palm Canyon Drive. The wait staff were very attentive, and courteous. The most important part, the food, was outstanding. I took my family on Mother’s Day and my wife and my mom and my daughter couldn’t stop raving about their meals. I really enjoyed mine as well. As an unexpected bonus our waiter gave us a great little piece of history of the place that just added to the overall experience. If you’re visiting Palm Springs or even if your local I would highly recommend a visit to the Purple Palm.
Beautiful pool-side setting where we enjoyed unique coctails and lovely starters and entrees. A fun experience.
Great food, ambience and exceptional service
Have eaten here twice and both times the food has been delicious and the service impeccable! Will definitely be back! Ask to sit by the pool if possible, beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding hotel.
Overall a pleasant and satisfying experience! Recommend for date night or if you want to impress out of town guests.
They also have a great bar area for drinks and bar snacks.
Delicious food in a spectacular setting. This place always feels special.
Excellent food and service.
Not our best experience here. Always a tranquil and beautiful setting. Service warm and attentive. Food was a mixed bag. Flavorful appetizers; dumplings fresh and flavorful, crab fritters crispy and full of crab. Two of us loved our pork main. On the negative side : Tuna main was a downer. Fish was tough, didn’t appear to be fresh. Preparation was poorly conceived. And the dessert was just plain bad; pineapple lemon glop. Like an overly sweet cinnamon bun in appearance with too much icing.
Still one of our favorite occasion destinations in the desert but hopefully will be better on our next visit.
All around great, creative food
Delicious, fresh ingredients. Lovely outdoor space.
It felt a little tired. We sat inside, which is sort of like a backwater in spite of it being a nice space. It was definitely less than we were expecting.
Beautiful reataurant with amazing food and platting. Were there for Easter Sunday brunch and ambiance was chill and relax. You will love it, any time and day!
Loved the eggs benedict and Bloody Mary!
Our most recent visit to the Purple Palm was for Easter Brunch. The food, service, and ambiance were all outstanding. Previously we had hosted our daughter’s wedding at the hotel, the entire experience and especially the food were awesome!
Excellent quality brunch. Beautiful setting (you'd never guess you are on Indian Canyon!), and thoughtful service. Have been many times.
Fooled me to order bread for 3 USD!
If you ask "Would you like to have some bread" (before seeing the menu) there should NOT be an extra charge
No proper gluten-free options. I understand there is no gluten-free dish on the menu, but the kitchen should be creative and flexible enough to make a proper gluten free-dish
Food ok, but quite basic
Nice interior and ambiance
Ideal setting and delicious food. Waitstaff is adorable, too. I'll be dreaming of when I can next return!
Had an early seating, so enjoyed the quiet space and attentive service. Food was excellent and timely.
It was great!
Staff was very accommodating as we had a theater production to go to .. service was fast yet very attentive and food was delicious!!!
Simply, one of the best meals I have ever had,
Pleasant lunch, great service, and oh, those bloody marys!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Purple Palm. They have several good vegetarian options which is why we picked it and we were certainly happy with our selections. We would definitely go back.
We had never been to this restaurant so we made a reservation even though we went for an early dinner at 5:30 pm. There we people dining at the bar and out by the pool but no one in the actual dining room yet. We may have just been early. I would still recommend a reservation. We got there early and had a drink at the bar before being seated. It is adorable. You're right on the hotel pool so you get the feeling of relaxing at a small resort. The drinks were good but maybe stick to the specials on their drink menu. Once seated, service was amazing. The dining room is open to the pool area but you still get the fine dining experience. Its a perfect blend of elegance and relaxation. The food was great! We had the steak and the pork. We would highly recommend both. Portions are a lot bigger than expected so I recommend sharing any sides you order. The polenta and mushrooms were fantastic. Overall, we will definitely be back. This place is good for a casual but elegant night out....If you're lookin for a little finer dining for an anniversary or romantic night out, I would recommend Mr Parkers at the Parker Hotel.
Our waiter abandoned us.
Thank you for an amazing Dinner at your beautiful Restaurant! I loved the interiour design with the pretty wall tiles and the great food.
Kind regards from Hamburg, Germany
Food as always was excellent but the service was bad. We waited excessively for 4 salads that we could see a kitchen employee holding for at least 5 minutes. We were never offered a second beverage after completing our first drinks before the salad course.
The service was very disappointing inasmuch as that has not been an issue on the other ten or so times we’ve dined there.
In general the staff seemed oblivious to patrons that night.
Waited 30 minutes to be seated after our reservation time. Extremely noisey! Only 2 bartenders, should have a third on Saturday night with one as a service bartender. Waited 10 minutes before bartender could get us drinks at bar when we waited for our table. Javier our waiter was very good as was the food. Not the experience I thought I would have for $250. Before tip for 3 pp. Had been there twice a year ago and it was much better. Need to get on top of their game on busy nights. Nice decor but lacked an ambience it used to have. Introduce some drapery to dampen all the noise and I think it can be a game changer.
Excellent service. Full bar able to make any drink requested. Delicious and creative food.
We come here at least once a month and always love our food and dining experience. We didn't have the greatest table this visit (sandwiched in the middle on the patio next to a table full of kids) but it was acceptable. We all dined on different entrees and everyone was pleased with their choices. The wait staff is always amazing at Purple Palm and bring you back regardless of any negatives!
2nd day in a row for breakfast! The smoke salmon tartine was incredible!!! I had to go back today for it! Yum!!
Great chill atmosphere by the pool. Beautiful interior. Always great food and service. We love returning when we visit PS.
One of the most beautiful spots in Palm Springs and the food and service are great we ate here 3 times
Cozy, romantic, one of a kind and always good food.
Outstanding meal and the most outstanding service - thanks, Javier!
