Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel
Situated in the magnificent courtyard of the Colony Palms Hotel, the restaurant design evokes the glamour of the 1930’s and 40’s when the Colony Palms was “the” place to be seen in Palm Springs. Amazing food, stunning decor, mountain views, and gracious service…what more can be said?
Almost a perfect evening except for the outdoor dining experience on an unusual chilly windy nite in Palm Springs. There was no alternative in sitting inside.
& nothing they could do for us which was unfortunate. We were stuck outside and was rather uncomfortable even with heat lamps. Expensive chilly nite!
We had a lovely experience at Purple Palm. This was our 3rd time visiting here but the first time for a 3 course dinner.
Lovely old Palm Springs ambiance, delicious meal.
Eating outside on the terrace by the pool on a lovely day is great. Relaxed and delicious, it 's a fine experience. For me, eating inside is too noisy although, of course, it varies depending on who else is dining inside. I prefer the lunch and dinner menus to brunch, however my Cesar salad was unique and satisfying and they happily added shrimp that was perfect with it. It's a popular spot at at charming traditional Palm Springs inn. I think you'll like it too!
Excellent food, great house margarita made with blood orange, and great service.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly attentive service and delicious dinner.
This is a delightful place in the flavor of classic Hollywood charm. Be sure to request outdoor seating in Javier's section.
Lovely setting, outstanding waiter, and the best fish tacos in town.
Great dinner, really the best food in a long time! Cheers!
The menu was decent but the chef has a tendency to go just that one step/ingredient too far in all the dishes. Our waiter also advised us that her chef tends to cook to the rare side - something which made two of four in our group particularly annoyed when their steak was cooked to medium after being ordered medium-rare. This is unacceptable in a higher end restaurant.
We are loyal regulars at this point and love everything about the Purple Palm. Have been with small and larger groups, and everyone loves the bar/meal menu. Service is exceptional, welcoming and fun. Enjoy this beautiful setting.
Absolutely loved this restaurant and making plans to come back.
Service was good, not great! Lots of folks, but hard to flag them down. Our waiter was responsive but when we asked for pepper we got two salt shakers (no fresh ground?). Then it took awhile to flag someone down to get a pepper shaker. Two of the meals were good. The two that weren’t liked didn’t want the avocado so more on them than on you. Unfortunately it was an OK experience but we won’t rush back. Sorry.
Our favorite brunch spot! Menu is interesting, tasty and diverse. Dine in a pretty setting by the pool with great mountain and garden views.
The only downside that really affected the enjoyment of our meal is that smoking is permitted near the dining. We were inhaling cigar smoke off and on, which was very unpleasant. The food, service and setting - all was excellent but marred by the noxious smoke.
Such a nice location and I like the decor but the noise level is real high. Food was very good. I
We ordered 4 apps & it was perfect. Service was attentive & pleasant. Very attractive space.
Our new favorite spot in the desert!! Great service and interesting and healthy food at a fair price!
We've eaten at the Purple Palms a few times before, and this latest trip revealed that the restaurant wasn't just as good as it had been, but it was even better. We loved sharing the small, creative and tasty plates. The service was attentive and friendly, the decor lovely and sophisticated. I'm sometimes hesitant to eat in a hotel restaurant, but the Purple Palms lives up to the class and sophistication of the Colony Palms. This was my favorite meal on our trip to Palm Springs.
Very loud inside could not hear our guests-
Food was average at best and very very small portions for what they charge.
Better off going to other restaurants in the same price range.
We were impressed by the excellent service, which only made the very tasty meals even more appreciated! One of our party had ordered the Palm Burger well done, and it came out sort of medium... Not only did the waitress apologize right away, but the chef came out and someone else (manager?)...and then a whole new burger was prepared and grilled to our friend's preference. Because this meant that our friend's corrected meal came out long after the rest of us had finished, the waitress took the cost of the late meal off the bill. We found that especially nice...and we otherwise all enjoyed our meals very much. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Will definitely return!
Fantastic. The parmesan fries are to die for!
Family Trip Dining was great even with 2 kids. Amazing service with a smile.
sadly mediocre food, with the kind of dishes where you wonder if the sauce/veggies would much better fit to a completely different type of meat/fish. everything smelled as if it had been fried in the same, bad frying oil. hosts tried their best, atmosphere ok-ish, but really everything felt a bit too cheap for the prices.
Our server was great
We're vegans and the general manager & chef were very accommodating!
Was great..... pricey but overall ok,,,, limited timing with kitchen closing early but overall ok
Went for NYE dinner prefix menu $95.00 - had the celery root/apple soup - delicious and warming, crab fritters were delicious with lots of crab and spice, had the pasta main and was a little disappointed. The meal was overall delicious and the service was outstanding considering how busy the restaurant was.
NYE dinner for two, and we loved it. Thanks!
Yummy and super cute setting!
Having had dinner at the Purple Palm on numerous occasions, we decided to try it for lunch during the holidays. Wonderful choice! The lunch food was equal to the usual great fare at dinner. Good, fresh beet salad, and a chicken wrap. All excellent...in the usual great setting. Thanks.
The cheese platter ❤️❤️❤️
Main course came before appetizers.
Everything is perfect from ambient, food and cocktail !
When we made reservations, there was no indication that we would be forced to sit outside in the cold. We asked to please sit inside but were told there were no tables for two available inside. Throughout our meal and as we were leaving, we saw plenty of empty tables inside where we could have been seated. Terrible customer service!
A fun Palm Spring classic with an unique history.
Fun to people watch. The ceviche was amazing. The Cuban made my boys mouths water.
Severely Limited menu because of Christmas Eve, but no notice of that when reserved
Service spotty although waiter was nice
Meal took forever because kitchen misplaced order
Entrees were poor
Initial wine bottle was corky and returned but it took 15 minutes for a replacement to be delivered
Very bad experience. Only fixed when they comped check
Great food, great service , and great atmosphere with a 1950's vibe. Will definitely go back.
We had Christmas Eve dinner here. The menu was fixed, and the food was excellent. There was only one choice for dessert, pudding that didn’t sound great. They swapped espresso for the pudding for no extra charge. The only reason I didn’t give the experience 5 stars is because of the cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned and a sidecar. Neither was good. The old fashioned had a cinnamon, bitter flavor. The sidecar was too sour and didn’t taste fresh but as if was made with a drink mix.
We had dinner Xmas eve. The food was very good, and we very much enjoyed the ambience. Lovely space.
