Love Love Love this space. Feels like 'CLASSIC old Palm Springs' before they blocked the view w/another modern Orange County-esque hotel & put H & M smack in the middle of our sweet village. Foods ALWAYS interesting & surprising. It's got it all. Including Chef Nick Tall!!!
Great place to have lunch with great food.
Loved it! Peaceful setting and ambiance.
Dined here a number of times, one of our PS favorites - Brunch poolside is wonderful!
Seated for dinner, the menu was a shock - nothing of interest to us, over-worked with weird combos. We looked at each other and said, can you find something to eat?? NOT a good sign...
The waiter assured us the combos were awesome, the flavors unique.
All three dishes came out lukewarm, we DID NOT like the flavors, the lamb unexceptional and the cactus inedible, the short ribs awful. However - the cauliflower dish had wonderful flavor, but it was not hot from the oven and somewhat lukewarm.
The kitchen had no command over the products, nobody knew what they were doing, it was a disaster.
The restaurant kindly comped our entire meal - as they should have. It was a horrible performance.
We will be back - scrutinizing the menu and encouraging this restaurant to get back on the right track again - and SOON!!!
We had lunch the week after thanksgiving so it was quiet but I can imagine it gets really busy here, the food was excellent and the server was great. I have been wanting to stay at this hotel and after seeing how quaint is was will definitely come back again. The fish tacos were excellent!
Good food and very rich! Beautiful surroundings. Great coffee! (Americano with steamed milk!)
We had a lovely evening. Really like the retro setting. The waiter was fabulous - attentive and informative. The food was very good. We will go back for a special dinner.
Very good - beautiful grounds!
Thanksgiving Dinner. Great food & service. Niko our waiter was agreat. He provided great service as did Madeleine at the bar.
This restaurant never disappoints. The best tables are poolside, where the view is palm trees, blue sky and mountains. The food and service always good and they are doggy friendly. The wine list is nice and the desserts are made by a pastry chef. It's one of my favorite places in Palm Springs. I always make reservations because sometimes they have large parties.
Food was great, the staff was professional and kind, and the restaurant was beautiful! Thank you!!
Breakfast/brunch: Great seating and views from the covered porch. Food items were all good.
Dinner: Comfortable Old World dining room filled with pleasing patterns - a nice antidote to modernism. Room is loud but has a nice buzz to it. Limited menu was interesting but overly ambitious - flavors did not meet the hype. Cocktails were average.
It has been a pleasure to invite friends over to dinner in this typical Californian fusion kitchen with romantic atmosphere.
Loving setting, pleasant service, relaxed, clean and quiet
Great atmosphere, quiet, we dined by the pool.
Service was excellent.
The menu was very limited, and the food had odd parings Some of the sides were unrecognizable covered in sauce that made everything taste the same. I had the pork with Peaches?? Fatty and small amount meat. My guest had steak and again it was buried with sides that we didn’t know what it was. The taste was on but neither one of us finished the meal. Desert mine was also very limited. Nothing we cared for.
I hope it was just an off night for the kitchen. I would give it another try. Hopefully they change the menu.
My boyfriend and I dined at Purple Palms two times in one weekend. We stayed at the Colony Palms for our anniversary. When we got in on a Friday night, we sat at the bar to enjoy some cocktails. I had a Moscow mule and he had a vodka martini, up with olives. Both were AMAZING and made by Maddie, a bartender who has been with them for 5+ years. She was so much fun to chat with and was very knowledgable on cocktails and things to do in the Palm Springs area. (It was our first time in the town.) We shared the lamb and green beans (on their "To Share" menu) and it was DELICIOUS! A must-try for sure! Then Saturday night, we had reservations for our Anniversary dinner and we were seated along side the pool! It was gorgeous! We had a direct view of the pool AND a live guitar performer who added to the incredible ambiance. Our server, Niko, was super friendly, personable, and very efficient with our service. He even provided a pineapple-lemon custard tart (YUUUM!) from their dessert menu (on them!) for our anniversary! Super sweet of him! For dinner, we had the dumplings (also a must-try) and the smoked short ribs (SO tasty!). We would DEFINITELY come back to try more of their menu and for the awesome vibe the restaurant AND hotel provided! Every single one of the staff we interacted with were fantastic! Thank you for an amazing experience and keep up the great work! :)
Unique dining experience
Wonderfully balanced + flavorful food. Very attentive wait service. We’ll certainly return!
Love the place, the waiter tried very hard. A touch dark out on the patio for anyone over 35 trying to read the menu. Make sure your date doesn't wear nice heels to the restaurant or you'll have to carry her to the table due to the ground of gravel. Kinda cool but I'd probably be angry if i had to scratch up my shoes walking to the table.
As for the food, I get it... They had a new menu that they are still working out the kinks on but more importantly they probably need a better expediter or more staff, maybe hire a bartender? i could be wrong but it appeared our waiter had to make our drinks so his time was cut short. Our food arrived cold, (shortribs, halibut...,) cost a bundle and a bit messy to eat trying to cut a piece of nicely done fish that was wrapped with Kale. The problem became the only utensil i had to cut it was a butter knife. Squished Halibut on the plate for an expensive dinner just isn't right.
I suggested giving them a second try. My wife vetoed due to the expense of the meal... sorry guys... we will wait for someone to treat us to your wonderful outside dining area ....
We ate an early dinner poolside, which was nice but a little busy with kids playing in the pool. Perhaps later it would have been quieter. The food and service were good. I had a salad with burrata, which was very fresh and delicious. We shared some grilled octopus and ceviche. Overall, very nice!
Wonderful food and great service in an elegant setting! The pork belly dumplings were outstanding.
Service and food exceptional, and the courtyard view of the pool made it perfect!
Had a lovely time at Purple Palm with my boyfriend. Our favorite dish was the pork dumplings (we ordered two plates) and the cocktails were great. It was quiet on a Monday night, which was perfect. We sat on the patio facing the pool, and it was intimate and cozy. Though on the pricier side, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend!
A great blend of the best of old and new Palm Springs. A perfect evening and just the right spot to celebrate my birthday. The service was top notch. Food delicious, hearty portions. Good people. An excellent guitarist. Provided the right vibe to a very atmospheric spot.
Loved our meal here! It was so pretty sitting outside by the pool with live music. The food was delicious and the service was awesome. We were here on vacation and it was the perfect end to a really great day.
As always an excellent choice while visiting Palm Springs, the ambiance is the best, we will be back
The Purple Palm never disappoints. The food was as always delicious & wonderfully presented. Our server Beverly very professional & attentive as was the staff.
Food was good but ambience was lacking. Sitting poolside while guests were romping and splashing around in the pool leaves little to be desired. Also hostess sat an extremely smelly man right next to our table which completely ruined our meal and sensory palate. The odor/smell was so bad we had to leave. With all the empty tables there, to sit an obviously repugnant smell right on top of us, was completely uncaring, distasteful and lacking in awareness.
Probably the worst food I’ve had in 12 years of visiting Palm Springs.
We loved everything we tried at the Purple Palm! Our favorite meal in Palm Springs! We went on a really quiet night and had a memorable experience.
Steak was well flavored but full of fat.
Sunday brunch was terrific. We had friends in from out of town. The outdoor seating is poolside and makes for excellent ambience and the real feel of a vacation in the desert...a completely laid back vibe of a life you wished you could live everyday. The menu was perfect...a little something for everyone but not too extensive that it was impossible to decide. There were plenty of breakfast and lunch items as well as healthy choices. The 4 of us had a variety including, traditional eggs, the cheeseburger, Caesar salad, and the egg sandwich on a croissant. Everyone was very pleased. We will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere and the food and staff were amazing.
Lovely atmosphere. Apps better than the entrees. Salmon was flavorless and forgettable.
Breakfast date with daughter pool side was fabulous
The ambience .. the food .. the service . Everything was absolutely amazing . It was recommended to us by a local and I was so impressed and happy that we got the chance to try it while we were visiting . I would highly recommend it .
Love the place. Great for casual dining with a touch of elegance. Food was superb and staff was exceptional.
Perfection. Thank you So much. Great service, food, and ambience,
This little gem has a very unusual esoteric menu. The food flavors are unique and sometimes compete with each other. Be sure to ask the waiter to describe the dishes that catch you interest. All in all, a veery nice treat.
