Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel
Situated in the magnificent courtyard of the Colony Palms Hotel, the restaurant design evokes the glamour of the 1930’s and 40’s when the Colony Palms was “the” place to be seen in Palm Springs. Amazing food, stunning decor, mountain views, and gracious service…what more can be said?
Beautiful reataurant with amazing food and platting. Were there for Easter Sunday brunch and ambiance was chill and relax. You will love it, any time and day!
Excellent quality brunch. Beautiful setting (you'd never guess you are on Indian Canyon!), and thoughtful service. Have been many times.
Fooled me to order bread for 3 USD!
If you ask "Would you like to have some bread" (before seeing the menu) there should NOT be an extra charge
No proper gluten-free options. I understand there is no gluten-free dish on the menu, but the kitchen should be creative and flexible enough to make a proper gluten free-dish
Food ok, but quite basic
Nice interior and ambiance
Ideal setting and delicious food. Waitstaff is adorable, too. I'll be dreaming of when I can next return!
Had an early seating, so enjoyed the quiet space and attentive service. Food was excellent and timely.
It was great!
Staff was very accommodating as we had a theater production to go to .. service was fast yet very attentive and food was delicious!!!
Simply, one of the best meals I have ever had,
Pleasant lunch, great service, and oh, those bloody marys!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Purple Palm. They have several good vegetarian options which is why we picked it and we were certainly happy with our selections. We would definitely go back.
We had never been to this restaurant so we made a reservation even though we went for an early dinner at 5:30 pm. There we people dining at the bar and out by the pool but no one in the actual dining room yet. We may have just been early. I would still recommend a reservation. We got there early and had a drink at the bar before being seated. It is adorable. You're right on the hotel pool so you get the feeling of relaxing at a small resort. The drinks were good but maybe stick to the specials on their drink menu. Once seated, service was amazing. The dining room is open to the pool area but you still get the fine dining experience. Its a perfect blend of elegance and relaxation. The food was great! We had the steak and the pork. We would highly recommend both. Portions are a lot bigger than expected so I recommend sharing any sides you order. The polenta and mushrooms were fantastic. Overall, we will definitely be back. This place is good for a casual but elegant night out....If you're lookin for a little finer dining for an anniversary or romantic night out, I would recommend Mr Parkers at the Parker Hotel.
Our waiter abandoned us.
Thank you for an amazing Dinner at your beautiful Restaurant! I loved the interiour design with the pretty wall tiles and the great food.
Kind regards from Hamburg, Germany
Food as always was excellent but the service was bad. We waited excessively for 4 salads that we could see a kitchen employee holding for at least 5 minutes. We were never offered a second beverage after completing our first drinks before the salad course.
The service was very disappointing inasmuch as that has not been an issue on the other ten or so times we’ve dined there.
In general the staff seemed oblivious to patrons that night.
Waited 30 minutes to be seated after our reservation time. Extremely noisey! Only 2 bartenders, should have a third on Saturday night with one as a service bartender. Waited 10 minutes before bartender could get us drinks at bar when we waited for our table. Javier our waiter was very good as was the food. Not the experience I thought I would have for $250. Before tip for 3 pp. Had been there twice a year ago and it was much better. Need to get on top of their game on busy nights. Nice decor but lacked an ambience it used to have. Introduce some drapery to dampen all the noise and I think it can be a game changer.
Excellent service. Full bar able to make any drink requested. Delicious and creative food.
We come here at least once a month and always love our food and dining experience. We didn't have the greatest table this visit (sandwiched in the middle on the patio next to a table full of kids) but it was acceptable. We all dined on different entrees and everyone was pleased with their choices. The wait staff is always amazing at Purple Palm and bring you back regardless of any negatives!
2nd day in a row for breakfast! The smoke salmon tartine was incredible!!! I had to go back today for it! Yum!!
Great chill atmosphere by the pool. Beautiful interior. Always great food and service. We love returning when we visit PS.
One of the most beautiful spots in Palm Springs and the food and service are great we ate here 3 times
Cozy, romantic, one of a kind and always good food.
Outstanding meal and the most outstanding service - thanks, Javier!
Had been looking forward to visiting Purple Palm when in Palm Springs - but unfortunately was highly disappointed. First, we were barely greeted by the hostess - not a smile in sight (which you would argue would be her biggest task!). Appetizers was really good, but main course and dessert was average. Ordered wine with each course - each time (both for appetizers, main course and dessert) we got the food first and had to wait for the wine. For main course, we got the food but no silverware (and no wine). The waitress said she would get some for us but didn’t. After 5 minutes I went up and asked for silverware to eat with as food was getting cold. Long time since I got so bad service, and no apologies. They were not even full that evening. We had amazing dinners all the other evenings in Palm Springs, so I would recommend to go elsewhere for great food and service.
One of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs. Excellent food, drinks and love the ambiance!!
Our best meal in Palm Springs
Delicious food and great service in an awesome atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Wonderful evening with my son. Waiter was experienced, friendly and professional and the food was so so good! Beautiful setting completed the experience
Beautiful location poolside. Menu is on smaller side so best to check before you go. They charge for bread which is odd for a nice restaurant. Also wine list was limited. Could use more mid price Australian, French and Italian red wines. Service was hit or miss. Lovely spot for a romantic dinner or small group. Wouldn’t likely take the kids.
We had an 8pm reservation and our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived but we didn't mind exploring the beautiful courtyard. We didn't get seated until closer to 8:20 and I hadn't realized when I made the reservations that dinner ended at 9. The waitress didn't mention anything when we were seated and given menus, which from past experience tends to be mentioned straight away so as everyone is informed and on the same page. She seemed a bit short with us after a few minutes and notified us that the kitchen was closing soon - with a bit of attitude which was completely unnecessary. The food was fine, it just ruined the ambiance for a nice Sunday supper while we were in town celebrating a friend's birthday. And honestly it wasn't our fault we were seated so late.
I hesitate to say I would come back or recommend this place as Palm Springs is full of beautiful restaurants serving exquisite food with exceptional service. This was a beautiful place, but left a sour taste in my mouth.
This is now my new favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. A co-worker recommended it to me because we were staying at a nearby hotel. We walked in and WOW! The swimming pool is beautiful and the restaurant is alongside the pool. We ate outdoors because the weather was perfect. You can eat inside too where all the wallpaper and tile patterns are amazing. The food was delicious—we were there for brunch. The service was impeccable. I wish I knew my waiter's name...I'd give him a shout out. We sat there for hours, it was so peaceful.
One of my favorite places to go as well as take out of town guests. The atmosphere is reminiscint of being in Spain. Food is amazing and the cocktails are some of the best.
My steak was mediocre. I ordered a NY strip steak. It came in four pieces; quite different. My wife enjoyed her salmon. The service was very good. The restaurant was a bit noisy considering the tables were generously spaced. I think it was a bit high priced for what you got. The entrees did not come with much (no salad, vegetable, or significant potato), even the bread was an extra charge.
One of best places to eat in Palm Springs. Service , food and ambiance all stellar. Been here for both lunch and dinner and it never disappoints. A rose among many thorns.
We had a wonderful dinner. The service was superb.
The food and service were excellent! The pork dish was one of the best we've ever had.
Nice place for a reunion with dear friends. Food was excellent
An amazing evening
Yummy brunch and beautiful ambiance!
Not a huge menu selection. Waited 10 minutes to be seated even though there were plenty of open tables
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious. I recommend the Tombo Tuna and the Purple Gang cocktail!
