Pure Spirits
Continually recognized as one of the best places for seafood in Toronto, Pure Spirits is located in the Distillery District. Nearly one hundred years ago, when temperance societies and prohibition ruled America, it was from this very room that the whiskey barrels began their clandestine journeys across the lake and around the world. Today, while more refined spirits are served up, people come for the ambience and amazing food, particularly the fresh fish and oysters flown in from across North America and abroad... everyday!

Cool night in Distillery District but nice evening out. With some attention to a wind break on the patio it would have been a great outdoor experience. Very good service with attention to us as guests. Food was good but menu a bit limited. Had clam chowder then mussels with fries. Reasonable value for meal.

It was outside dining due to covid, can’t dine inside, but great experience our waitress was so pleasant, staff was really great, we made the best of it for outside dining.

Too long to get seated. Very unorganized. Now where near a heat lamp and the service was so slow that we left

Had an amazing time!!! Definitely felt super safe, the tables were spread out nicely. The heaters were a great touch for a late night dinner and drinks. My SO had their house lager, 10$ for 23oz what a deal he said. The burgers were great!! Definitely our go to patio for a safe outside dinning experience

Our server Julia was a delight. She was friendly and very helpful in light of guest using a walker. She knew the wine offerings and, after a question, steered me in the perfect direction. The food was good, and the spacing between the first and second course was such a pleasant change from so many restaurants where the second arrives just as, or before, the patron is finishing the first. AND for a chilly evening, the food arrived hot!

Back to patio service because of Covid19 but the restaurant and staff are making the best of it. Lots of heaters going, but dress warmly to be comfortable. Not sure how we would fare when the temperature drops more.

Virtually all the tables at the side of the restaurant have gas heaters which made it far more comfortable being on the outside of course. My date was feeling the vibe also, perhaps too much as she got out of the chair and fell onto the ground at the end of the evening. She blamed it on the excellence of the wine grape! 😳

Food was outstanding. And it wasn’t cold at all to eat at the patio where there were 2 portable heaters assigned to each table. Great ambience too!

All the dishes we had were amazing. Will definitely return!
Great fun. The oysters were great. Our waiter was accommodating. We were a group of 13 and were told that it has to be one bill, but the waiter broke it down for us within the one bill. They added the tip at 18%. I would have tipped 20%, but it was added already because of the size of our group.
Great staff. Great food. Chef was not happy with one of the fish and recommended another. Glad they were honest and the oysters were superb.
Very nice place for family gathering. Food was very tasty and the portions are not huge so we could finish everything.

Our first indoor dining experience during COVID and we were impressed with their safety protocols. I had my favourite dish - the Lobster Pappardelle and it was delicious. I had complained in the past that the LP was too stingy on the lobster but it was more generous this time, so I was very pleased. My husband had the Walleye and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
