Pump Ratings and Reviews
I took business colleagues there in from buffalo NY. I indicated in the reservation that info as a special occasion. Nothing was done by the wait staff that would indicate that message came through. Unimpressive as a result. Why did I waste my time typing that up?
I was disappointed in Pump this time. I have been about 5 times and each time has gotten worse and worse.
The music was so loud that I could not hear anyone at the table.
The food came out cold and the drinks were weak.
Overall a great concept is losing sight of the details and this too may fall by the wayside.
We had a wonderful experience dining for dinner at Pump on 1/13/18. The decor was pretty and gives a feeling of being in a forest, the design was clever with the trees and lighting. We noticed a clear cover overhead which was brilliant. We were treated very kindly by the staff and the food was excellent. One of us has terrible food allergies and care was taken to prepare the meal so it could be enjoyed. They also made our special cocktail, made it perfectly and charged a fair price. We aren't locals but will visit again when in town.
The ambiance was amazing the service was good but the food sucks specially the fish items my friend order the fish salad and it smell so bad that she have to order something else and I order salmon fish which has no flavor in it but the appitizer was so good so overall it was good experience
As a fan of the show, it was a great experience to be apart of the action. We did see LVP, Ken, and Gigi. She was even more stunning in person, and was polite, to everyone who spoke but what was slightly busy. The food was ok, nothing special. I’d recommend going, if you’re a fan or like people watching. We saw P.K the same night.
The 100 year old olive trees were lovely, but the Christmas decorations were still up. We sat at a table with a large wooden chandelier and could hardly see the person across the table. It was quite dark in the restaurant, hard to read the menu. Ordered appetizers and no one cleared our table before the main courses came out. Service not as attentive as would have been appreciated. Meal was good but nothing special. Not sure if I would return, but it was fun to see and experience once.
I used to love coming to Pump for the food and atmosphere every time I make my way to LA (once every 2-3 months). Now, it seems like I’m only coming here for the atmosphere. Food has gone a little downhill, but the service (from waiters) has gotten worse and worse. Waited 15-20 min for the waitress just to bring the check. It’s such a beautiful restaurant and I would highly recommend it, but lately the service has been slacking. Along with the dress code, since when was it ok to wear gym clothes to a restaurant. It has so much potential.
Fantastic ambiance - dine indoors in a forest like setting - somewhat dark with multiple light sources - indoor fire columns for heat as needed
Food presentation and variety matched the attentive but casual service
Very comfortable meal in a happening part of LA
My 25 year old daughter wanted to go here because she watches Vanderpump Rules and had already been to Sur. We were in LA because she had an interview and decided to go for a celebratory dinner. A friend of mine joined us, and we were expecting fun people watching. We were not disappointed! The bar was lively, the servers incredibly gorgeous, and the clientele, eclectic. We saw Ken, the owner, and we even petted a couple of his doggies!! What I wasn’t expecting, was the lovely decor and ambiance, nor the delicious food. We felt like we were in an enchanted forest. We had the ahi appetizer, and it was very tasty with our cocktails. My friend and I had the filet mignon and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. It came with the most delicious mashed cauliflower; I didn’t even eat the little potatoes. Yum! Lastly, my daughter said that several of the cast members from VR were there. Since I do t know them, can’t give names. Overall, we had a fun, entertaining evening. I highly recommend!
Pump was beautiful, very nice ambiance. Only problem was our table they gave us was not in a good spot. It was in the middle and everyone was bumping into us. It was such a bad spot. Luckily we got moved but coming from Vancouver Canada and making reservations weeks before it was unfortunate we never got to sit in the area with the trees.
This dinner was for a friend's 40th bday and so I made a request to be seated in a nice area through open table. Reservations were made a MONTH before. I had been here to celebrate my husband's birthday and was impressed by my experience here which was why I was excited to pick this restaurant for my friends celebration. We got there on time, but our table wasn't ready. After several times of checking in with the hostess, they finally said our table was ready, ONE HOUR LATER! and when they sat us, it was a makeshift table stuck in the middle of the walk way, straddling the bar and main restaurant, sandwiched between the bathrooms and the waitress stand!! Our party was not happy as in the 5 minutes were seated there, our bags and jackets hanging off our chairs were bumped around and customers, servers and busboys were constantly milling around us. We had No privacy and NO ambiance, just a lot of loudness and people rushing about our table. I promptly asked the hostess to move us. She then said we would have to wait again since the other table for 6 just cleared and they have to clean it. I said I'd wait as anything would have been better than the walkway! They finally got our table ready, but it wasn't even in the restaurant, it was in the bar area, away from the ambiance that I wanted my friends to experience. I was more than disappointed with this level of service as I had been here before and service was pretty good. It left a bad taste in our mouth, lucky our waiter was nice and Ken Vanderpump was kind enough to chat with us for a bit. This made for a lackluster experience that I'm embarrassed about since I hyped up PUMP to my friends. Not sure I'll be back as LA has many more restaurants that we'd rather spend our money on without having to deal with sub par service and tables set up only to maximize space and sacrificing everything PUMP stands for.
I was a little disappointed this time around having been here numerous times: the wine and food menus were dirty and worn, the table cloth was wet from the wine bucket belonging to the adjacent table before we were seated, the seat cushion was visibly soiled, the waiter was good, but could have been a little more attentive, I had to request pepper twice as none was on the table. I truly love this place, but it needs a little TLC and attention.
The food, dessert and drinks were on point. The ambiance was perfect! We drove all the way from San Jose to experience this place and got to see what it was all about and it met our expectations! Wish Lisa would have been there to met but we’ll just have to try her other place next time we’re in town.
