Great place to hang out with friends Friday/Saturdays night. The service is really great too, except for the hostess, when we arrived, we said "hello, good evening", and she did not respond back, just asked how many people in the reservation, which was pretty rude to start with, anyway the waiters and bartender were really well polite. The food is not the best or the most sophisticated, which makes the price not to be fair. The drinks are great, so if you look for drinks, that's the place. Other than that, the restaurant (environment and location) is great.
Our server, Christian, was amazing!!
We are fans of the show and came to LA for our anniversary! Enjoyed the food at both Sur and Pump but I think I prefer the ambiance of Pump!
A lovely evening in a beautiful setting. The food and drinks were exceptional. We even made friends with a couple sitting next to us. Wonderful location and the entire staff made our evening memorable.
Beautiful ambiance but okay food! Great for pictures and a night of fun!
The food and the drinks was really good. The ambience sitting outside was really nice. The price for the food and drinks was reasonable
Pretty restaurant with delicious food and wine. Reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.
This restaurant is so beautiful and everything was delicious. I would recommend.
Beautiful place great atmosphere but the food was not that good.
Average food .... not great service ....
Got asked to move table as they had so many reservations ....
It was not busy at all and it really spoiled our experience
Loved it all! So pretty just sitting in the garden near the Bar area having a cocktail and delish food with my daughter and our friends. Such a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon before flying home to Australia. We will always come back when we are in LA.
The garden area is beautiful and our server was great but the menu was very boring and basically only consisted of egg dishes. We were there for brunch and anticipated brunch items like French toast, waffles but nothing like that was available. We ordered a pitcher of drinks which was okay but ended up with a horrible headache later. I was expecting a nice glass pitcher but instead the drinks were served in a cracked plastic advertising a type of tequila. My egg dish was good but it was scrambled eggs can’t really mess that up. The sugar packets on the table were stained with coffee and the holder was so dirty I had to place on the empty chair because it grossed out looking at it. Overall we had a nice time just was expecting more. The chocolate ganache cake was amazing though!
Loved the food and drinks were delicious! Staff was so friendly.
This was my second time this year going to PUMP. Came all the way from Orlando, FL to have a birthday dinner here. Enjoyed it so much. They make you feel welcomed and the food is great.
Beautiful atmosphere. Could’ve sat there all night. Our server, Logan (not 100% sure on name) was AMAZING! And cute ;)
It took 40min for a waiter to take our order. Service wasn’t good but the food was decent.
Background music was WAY TOO LOUD. I could barely hear my dinner companion's conversation. I asked the hostess if the music could be turned down. "Oh yeah, I'll ask my manager". It never happened. I asked our server if there was anything he could do about it. It finally was turned down. Ridiculously loud music while dining is so unnecessary. It greatly detracted from our dining experience.
We came all the way from Sheffield, England and loved the experience. Efficient, attentive and kind. The food was beautiful but I did struggle with the appetisers, I don’t eat fish, cheese or mushrooms (likely just bad luck for me). A lovely experience, great waiter and Lisa was in there eating cementing the fact that the food is top notch!
We are visiting from out of town
Had dinner at SUR previous nite and it was great
Pump service not so much
Waiter was missing most of our dinner and had to flag down other servers for requests ( like steak sauce)
Manager, was great.
Hostess was not accommodating which is why manager stepped in
Beautiful restaurant but a bit loud for us
Wished we had gone back to SUR where everyone was so great and professional
The food both places so good
Nori our server was excellent , always there on a very busy night . Drinks and food were as good as always ! Hosts nice and on top of things as well !
Amazing ambience, food...great staff...Sean was exceptional! Can not wait to be back!
Food was seriously not impressive at all
It was amazing it was my birthday and my server made it amazing the drinks and food were amazing the only thing that was missing was Lisa lol next time I’m in LA I will be back
I am sure that since a Brit owns this restaurant...to her the food is good. But the food is very average. Italian food should resemble the taste of italian food. Drink had to be sent back since they don't know how to make a standard martini.
It's a cool place...hot women....nice decor...but those are the only reasons to go there.
Went here with my friends for my birthday. The Mediterranean sampler board could have had more pita but it was delicious and beautiful. I had the best dish, the chicken rigatoni and everyone was stealing bites of it so I’d definitely recommend ordering it. They brought out a slice of cake with a a Roman candle which was so lovely and special. Loved the overall look and feel of the place and would go back for another birthday.
Excellent food and service!!
We had the best experience ever , everything was just perfect .
Although we had a 9:15 reservation, we walked up to an unattended host stand, waited patiently for someone to finally greet us, only to be told that the kitchen closes at 10. We then waited another 5 minutes awkwardly standing by host podium for our table to be “ready” when there were only a few diners and PLENTY of open tables. We sat at our table without being greeted for at least another 10 min. A waterboy poured us some water. Then we waited some more. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking bc you know “the kitchen closes at 10”. Finally, our server comes over and immediately let’s us know “the kitchen is going to close, so we’ll need to get your order”. Ok, hello to you too! The table next to us (who were seated before we arrived), was greeted by the same server AFTER us! She told them the same deal about kitchen closing...anyway, we ordered, the food was good, the desserts were awful (dry red velvet and no lava in the lava cake), obviously old. As soon as we were done, a manager came over to the table next to us, who were just finishing their entrees and told them, “ok, so we are closing and we need to finish up”. These poor people were foreigners and looked completely shocked. Anyway, the place is beautiful and we loved it before, but this treatment by the staff was horrific and embarrassing. If you don’t want to serve customers, then don’t take the reservations. Maybe the staff had a party to go to? In any case, if this were my restaurant, I would reevaluate my staff.
Pump was a very unique restaurant. The ambiance and food were stellar. The only hiccup was the rude hostess upon arrival. Please treat everyone you meet with respect. Everything else was awesome!
The food and drinks were phenomenal. Restaurant is stunning inside and out. The service, however, was atrocious. He took our order, did not deliver it, did not clear it, only topped off our waters a few times (other staff members were), and we had to ask another server for our tab after our plates had been cleared for 15+ minutes. The restaurant was not busy, and nether was he. Every time we looked, he was talking to the bartender or another employee.
Everything was perfect except the pasta with lobster. There was significant amount of lobster but the spiral pasta tasted like it was from a box tasted like cardboard. My husband crispy chicken was perfect. The service was top notch. The restaurant is beautiful.
Worst food in LA, but nice Atmosphere. Never again
The food was good, but the service was disappointing.
Besides my medium rare burger was overcooked (which I shared with our waiter), everything else was phenomenal as always.
Also, Chris Kimball (bartender), who we met the first time we dined at Pump over 3 years ago, is always so polite, welcoming and cordial, as he makes an effort every time to come to our table to say hello (whenever he's working) to greet us and welcome our guests (most first timers who leave with a very positive impression). Only one other similarly memorable experience that comes to mind is Mama AN from Crustaceans in Beverly Hills. She appreciates her patrons as so does Chris.
Our server Charlie was amazing!! Went over the top for us! Would definitely recommend and will be returning
Definitely a great meal, cocktails and happy hour appetizers. The service is what makes PUMP an overall great experience as well as dining in a garden & under the trees.
The staff, food and environment was just lovely.
We really enjoyed ourselves. We went for happy hour the prices were great and just the right size of meals.
It was nice to go somewhere have great food and service without a high price for a change.
Went to Pump with a friend who was visiting from out of town on work. The ambiance of Pump is just amazing. You feel that you are transported to a very exquisite outdoor garden. The lighting, furniture and fire pits outside are fantastic. Food wise, it was hit and miss. We had the burrata, which was delicious. My friend also had the ravioli, which was also equally delicious. I ordered the chicken Milanese, which was so/so. The potato salad and actual green salad were delicious. The chicken itself was quite dry. Service was also so/so. The server came around to get drink and food orders as well as to take our food plates away and bring our check. He did not check on how the food was at all. In addition, he never offered for us to have dessert. I was also quite surprised that when we checked in for our reservation that we were told there was a 1hr and 45min limit to dine for two persons, since it was a busy Friday night. Nowhere on the website is that said. Given that I was catching up with a friend from out of town, it was a bit disappointing as it felt rushed.
