About Puerto 27 Peruvian Kitchen & Pisco Bar
Indulge in delicious Peruvian fare and cocktails next to a panoramic view of the ocean at Puerto 27. Located next to the Pacifica Beach Hotel, this restaurant serves thoughtfully prepared dishes in a vibrant setting. The menu includes Peruvian classics, such as the pollo a la brasa (Peruvian chicken), paella (mixed seafood and rice) and lomo saltado (marinated beef stir-fried with vegetables). Puerto 27 is also a great place to visit for some authentic anticuchos.
Puerto 27 offers a fine selection of wine and craft beer to complement its meal, with Happy hour specials running between 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. during the work week. The bar also serves a list of Piscos, Peru's national spirit made from grapes. The mosto verde is a must-try. Made with a blend of four varietal grapes, it pairs well with most dishes.

They don’t access Opentable reservations anymore. Made a reservation, but told they no longer have Opentable reservations when I got there. My business group had to wait for a table to open up. The party that came through the door after me had the same issue as well.
Food and table service was great once we got a table though. Excellent meal.
There signature drink pisco is very good and the food is as good as LaMar in San Francisco with a great ocean view. Parking is limited. Prices are a bit less than LaMar but still expect to spend about $35 - 50 per person with drinks. One of our party spent $85.00 for himself but he had a lot of food and two drinks.
We enjoyed the ceviche sampler, which included six different, delicious ceviches as our appetizer (along with plantain chips, of course), and followed that with three excellent main dishes, the Lomo Saltado (sauteed steak strips), the Adobo de Chanco (slow braised pork shoulder) and the Trucha Encebollada (skilled roasted Idaho trout). An excellent dinner for three! We've dined here numerous times before and will keep coming back for the great food, especially those ceviches!
i visited this resto with my husband & younger teenage daughter for second time around. I personally met the chef who graduated from the Catholic grade school where my 2 daughters went but he's older than them though. Met his dad who owns the Fresco in SF. Love the food, location & ambiance. Will come back again!
As usual the food was great and the view spectacular. I went for lunch on a weekday and they seemed short handed. We had long wait for service, long wait to get drinks and food and follow ups if we needed refills etc. Our server was very accommodating, just seemed over worked with a large party. The acoustics in the restaurant make for a loud atmosphere, but not a reason to skip by any means. I would recommend this restaurant and have over and over, the place overall is wonderful!
I had their Cerviche Classico, and their fish was super fresh! Their sauce was missing something...not sure what. But, it was good enough! I also had their Lomo Saltado and that was a homerun! They pan fried the steak in their soy sauce based sauce and it was brilliant! The view from the first level is only so-so...but, it is family and friends friendly with fair enough service - I went to get someone a plate, additional spoon and napkin from the supply table. All was good.
It was pleasantly low key because it was raining hard on a Sunday afternoon. We received service from three waitstaff, the food was really good, and one of the waiters saw me taking photos of my family. Without asking, he offered to take some shots w/me in them so I got whole family shots. He took great photos and multiple ones too. Oh and he gave me three extra scoops of ice cream! I'm not sure if he had a personal thing for me, but I felt extra special. Did I mention it was for my brother's birthday? Anyway, the whole family had a fantastic time and overall everything was outstanding. Thank you to everyone! Muy bien echo!!
I look forward to returning to Puerto 27 when the sun doesn't set at 5PM. Lots of windows and near the ocean. Somewhat noisy and energetic but we could still hear each other (party of 4) so it wasn't a problem for us. I was surprised there were TV screens in the restaurant/bar but it added to casual feeling (so that was fine). I would definitely go again. (seems I'm a fan of Peruvian food and since I'm a vegetarian, it's nice to find new dishes to enjoy). My friends ate the meat and fish dishes and they seemed to enjoy everything. My guy says the paella was different from Spanish paella as it didn't have as much saffron. He was not a fan of the Lamb Meatball starter (though he loves lamb). My entree was the Locro de Quinoa (I loved it).
I like the food at Puerto 27. And I like the view if you're seated where you can see out towards the ocean. I do not like the fact that the restaurant has all the warmth of a barn but that's the way it was built before the restaurant opened there. However, there is a great deal that the restaurant could do to mitigate the noise. We try to go early to avoid the worst of the noise.
This is one of the time when we went early (before 7:00pm). The restaurant was not busy and there appeared to be multiple servers on duty. However, our server kept disappearing for long periods of time. When she asked if we were ready to order we told her we needed just a couple of minutes more not realizing that we literally wouldn't see her again for ten minutes. The whole rest of the evening was like that. And it's not like she was busy at other tables, she just wasn't around. Still, the service is generally good and hopefully this was just an exception.
Best resturant in Pacifica. Our family had not met with a 1st cousin in over 60 years since his arrival from Honolulu as a small boy. The cousin & his wife drove up from San Jose and this was the best resturant to give him the taste of Pacifica and serve as a backdrop to our family reunion with ohana / family we had never met. Awesome service, staff, & food. Best day ever. Mahalo / thank you
There aren't a lot of great places in the Peninsula to go to for a nice, classy, family dinner. Puerto 27 is one of my favorite places to go for the food, ambiance, the view of the beach (on a good day) and just because is close to home without having to go into San Francisco with all that traffic. >_< I think it is a hidden gem. The food is worth the slightly more expensive price for the area. I have always had a great time there. I love Peruvian food thanks to this place!
Hostes was not friendly and didnt even greet us at the door. I had a reservation but noticed the place was dead and empty. I said hi, for two! All I got was a weird look and an "ummmm" as she stared at her screen. "ummmm" she goes again. I said I have a reservation, then she said oh ok right this way then.
We then waited a bit to be acnoledged by our server, which later became a trend. Although he was very polite and nice.
We first ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizers, which took a bit to come out, matter of fact the appetizers came first then we had to ask again for our bottle of wine.
Ordered the tuna caviche for the appetizer, it had a good flavor but was litterly swimming in a sauce which made it super salty (and I love salt). Without the pool of sauce this would have been the best dish of the night but it wasnt.
My girlfriend and I ordered two plates to split and one was just ok and forgetable, I cant even recall what it was.
Our second was the POLLO A LA BRASA, and this was a huge FAIL, it came to us cold and tasteless. It was so bad we just left it aside and was waiting to tell our server about it.
Close to 15 minuets later the manager walked by with another tables entrays, and must have noticed we didnt touch our chicken and asked why we didnt like it. After we explained, he was very nice in wanting to redo it, but we just didnt want to bother as the rest of our experience was so bad. Then he said I wish you would have told us earlier and we would have taken care of it. Well we would have if someone would have came by, but they didnt. They took it off our check and offered a desert on the house. But we didnt even want to try, however that was a nice gesture.
Upon leaving the Hostes was again not friendly, as she didnt even say anything like "thanks have a good night"
This place must not have to be good since the view is out of this world, and people will just come back all the time for the view!
Overall we had a wonderful birthday celebration. The food was good, the drinks were interesting, the place was lively and loved the location. Read complaints about the service, but our server was on it. If we had to find a negative it would be that they charged $18 for corkage fee. We ordered many cocktails too. Restaurants should reduce or eliminate the corkage fee if at least 1/3 of the bill is spent on drinks from their bar--just a personal opinion.
My Peruvian friend gave two thumbs up for authentic ceviche and pisco sour. "Finally! They didn't put avocado in the ceviche!" Ceviche Clasico is true to its name and is furnished with the traditional yams, onions and chancho. Truta encebollada is excellent, generous portion easy to share.
Love this local spot and have been going since it opened.
Food is lovely. Great ceviche and yucca frites. Love the stewed chicken and the duck entrees.
Our only complaint is the wildy inconsistent service. Forgotten appetizers, long lags with no check-ins...it's a pattern that they just haven't gotten their arms around yet. I hope they do - we would go much more often!
Great views with even better food. The server was great! But there was a 'busboy' or some other staff member that tried to 'help' and it didn't work out well. I feel like the server thought he was going to stay on top of things like drinks, sauces, etc. When in fact he came once and just looked over us from behind the bar area. I found myself calling him over a few times rather than him actually giving us service. Wonder what was so interesting? Haha. Overall I would say 4/5 would have been 5 if he took initiative.
Food was good - wish portions were bigger on the sampler plates (ceviche and causa). Was a busy night so it seemed like our orders were somehow forgotten since other parties who arrived after were enjoying their drinks and food before us. Arrive with good company and you won't mind waiting or yelling across the table to be heard. Nothing to complain about food quality or taste - both were great!
This was the second time we visited the Puerto, and we brought guests with us. I'll never do that again. It was embarrassing how slow the service was -- and the place was practically empty! A huge problem they have is with beverage service --- painfully slow! That happened the first time we ate there as well. They need to fix that - get the beverages to the customers ASAP. And the way the food was served -- poor timing, seriously not ok. The music was WAY too loud. Could barely hear myself think. The food was meh. Nothing to write home about. Too much emphasis on creamy. The dip served with the "taquitos" starter, which were really crab and cream cheese filled fried wontons, was a poorly flavored, creamy substance of some kind. It was awful. The wontons were filled with cream cheese! How about throwing a little pico de gallo in that dip bowl, instead of more creamy substances? It was just plain gross. I could not wait to get out of there. Had a Caesar salad which had absolutely zero zest to it.
We loved the restaurant -- the food was thrillingly different from the usual fare and our waiter was simply wonderful. His suggestions really helped make our Birthday celebration an evening to remember. I'm sure we will be back! They had the best anticucho I've had in a very long time!
