Puckett’s Historic Downtown Franklin
Have you ever walked into a place, and you instantly feel at home? Well, Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant is that sort of place. Founded in the 1950s, Puckett's served as a country store to several communities in Williamson County. It has always been the place to buy some food, grab a good homemade sandwich and catch up on the day's events in the world and at home.
In 2004, Puckett's opened in Historic Downtown Franklin, and now in 2010, Downtown Nashville as well.
Southern breakfasts with local, organic eggs, award winning burgers, plate lunches, fresh salads, cherry wood smoked BBQ pulled pork and ribs, and homemade desserts, make every meal memorable.
Add live entertainment from some of Nashville's greatest artists and songwriters and you have the complete Puckett's experience!
Open at 7am every day, Puckett's invites you to come on down and see us!
Real Food, Real People, Real Fun!
Friday & Saturday: 7am-10pm
Pucketts is always consistent. The band South Street Players was amazing!
We had the best food and the best server. It was our first time there and it was great. I was really glad we had a reservation too!
The meal was only average. Service was adequate but not great. The dining area is interesting and fitting for a southern city with lots of local charm. I was looking for something special and Puckett’s didn’t meet our expectations.
Great Good. They have an excellent menu. The live music is amazing. We’re from Illinois and every time we come to this area we have to go to Puckett’s! What a great place to get a cold beverage, awesome live music and excellent service at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!
Food is good, not great. Love this place to listen to live music. Puckett’s always has great entertainment. Our server was very attentive and friendly 😊
Puckett's Franklin used to be a favorite of ours, but this last visit was somewhat disappointing. The menu has been significantly reduced and even eliminated fried catfish, a long time staple. Also, the portion sizes of the items we ordered has been reduced - normally we would order a basket of fried green beans as an appetizer for 4 of us, but it was just barely enough for a couple. We probably won't be visiting Puckett's as often.
Five stars is not enough to rate the fantastic experience we had. This place is a MUST for great music, food, excellent service, friendly staff, etc. I can't wait to go back again when I am in the Franklin area.
Birthday dinner. I liked the atmosphere and the food and drinks were very good. I was extremely surprised and compromised in front of my family however when the hostess came to my table and informed me since we had a reservation we had to pay a $12 per person cover charge for music. My reply was we are from out of town and my reservation on Open Table mentioned nothing about a cover charge. I was told the reservation did disclose the cover charge and that I had to pay, Well I used my Open Table App for a new reservation for next Friday evening and there is NO MENTION of a cover charge. I paid $48 last night in order to not make a scene in front of my family when I all I wanted was a good meal. I really liked Puckett’s and the band was actually very good but I am not happy that I was asked/forced to pay $48 for what ended up being 30 minutes of music. We were done with dinner about 30 minutes after the band started. How can Open Table not disclose this ? I am disappointed with both OT and Puckett’s and will think twice about using your service in the future. Please reach out to Puckett’s and get this resolved. I don’t want any other family badgered or tricked into a cover charge. All I wanted to pay for was a good meal. Was not right to be subjected to this especially after we had ordered our meal. How can this not be mentioned clearly and in an obvious fashion with the reservation? Please get this fixed !
I came there to earn points through open table. The manager talked with me to help me with the rewards I had earned to no avail. A restaurant should not participate in any program unless the manager can answer the customer's question. Now I'm trying to get open table to help me understand where my rewards are and to help managers be MORE informed.
I chose this location because the one in Nashville was booked solid the next couple days. It worked out so much better. Writers night was definitely a treat. Nice intimate setting with friendly guests and hosts. Food was excellent with good portions.
We had an enjoyable time. Great food, music and service.
What a fun place! Great music, not too loud, our waiter was incredible, and the meatloaf and cobbler were both to die for! Will be coming back next chance I get.
Love Pucketts ambiance and food. Always a great time out with friends and to hear friends play live music. Our server Chelsea was new and did an awesome job. Can’t wait to go back
We love Pucketts! Always great food, service and music.
Classic southern food with large portions and friendly service. Live music. Happy hour before 6:00. Good beer and wine selection.
I would that the food is good but not that outstanding. Coctailes are average. What really gets me here is ambiance. Very well preserved “small community” feel. Love it! Real historic taste here, like you walk into some community gathering 100 years ago. And another outstanding feature is music. Always great, they manage to invite only bestof the best. Acoustic just unbelievable for such small place.
The pulled pork platter was great!! We were there for their “music in the round” - Hits and Grins. Loved the entertainment, service was great and the food was delicious!!! Even with the cover charge, it was so worth it!! Highly recommend it!
Enjoyed the band “Red Light 11.”
The food - hot chicken sandwich, fried green tomato BLT and cherry cobbler - was excellent! There was live music that was very enjoyable and not too loud. Our server Sharon was awesome - so customer service driven...she was a delight!! Definitely recommend!
We were on vacation - read about Puckett's in Franklin - lived up to reviews I had read!
Great atmosphere and food. Thoroughly enjoyed the live music
Must try the cherrywood smoked prime rib served on fridays and Saturday’s. It is the best. Great ambiance and good music at a songwriter event. Highly recommend and will bring out of town guests here.
Delicious food and the music was amazing. We weren’t aware of the $12 per person cover charge until our check came.
Website showed no musical act for that night, but there was one, so a little noisier than we expected. Also table wasn’t cleared of dirty dishes after we finished.
Fried Green Tomatoes were very good. Brisket and BBQ chicken platters were a little dry and I have had better brisket. Sides of beans and Cole slaw were very good. Decent atmosphere.
Date night out!
Best fried chicken I have had in a long time! Our server was great and hats off to the cook! It was a wonderful dinner with friends! We love eating at Puckett’s!
We were seated and served promptly. Perhaps too promptly. One server took our drink order and then a second server followed right behind and asked if we were ready to order our food. We weren't in a hurry but they apparently were. We had hoped to enjoy our beverages and the music for a few minutes but since I had looked at the menu on line earlier I knew what I wanted. We both ordered salads which arrived very quickly. Before our drinks came! My wife wanted to return the salads, as they came way too quickly. We should have taken longer to order our dinners. We came for a leisurely meal but ended up feeling rushed.
Our food, Salmon whiskey platter and Nashville Cheese Steak, were good, salads were fine. Service overall was quite good, we were well taken care of. Just a bit too quickly. Our dinner was over much sooner than expected, and since it seemed they were eager to turn over our table, we left for another venue to listen to music for the rest of the evening.
Great location. Server was very friendly! The food was expensive and not very good. I really didn't eat much of it.
Excellent food and even better service. The meatloaf was amazing and I will be stopping there my next time through Nashville/Franklin.
Puckett's was great. The food was delicious, the service was great and the live music was really enjoyable. I would highly recommend it.
The food, music, venue were great. The drinks were creative and very tasty. The brisket taco salad was off the hook and the meatloaf was spectacular as usual. Doris was our server and she made the evening loads of fun. We all would welcome a return visit and Rich Armentrout was outstanding entertainment. It was a great evening.
Comfort food with a unique twist. Outstanding service thanks to Emily. Perfect spot for our last night in Franklin.
Great night out. The Consoulers were finally back again and the place was rocking .
My wife and I split a plate that had brisket, pulled pork, ribs and a chicken leg. Everything was delicious, but the chicken leg was particularly tasty. The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. I look forward to my next visit to Puckett’s.
Friendly service. Tasty drinks and bites during happy hour.
Loved the Cherry cobbler
We drove to Franklin location since the CMA fest was in Nashville and couldn’t get into that location. This location is super cute and much less crowded. We had the chicken fried chicken and hamburger with sweet potato fries. Food was good and the waitress was extremely friendly and patient with special request on our order. Live music was not there the evening we went which we had hoped there would be and the menu had recently changed and was different than the online menu.
Good food, great service and entertainment. I would go again.
On the downside, the loud chatter from the kitchen often competed with the music too much. Also, would prefer the cover charge on a separate bill to ensure tax not added (hard to figure out!).
We go to Puckett's Downtown Franklin pretty often on Saturday nights for the live music. There have been some menu changes not necessarily for the better. Seems like they are cutting costs. Also, while their meatloaf was described by one of our group as "the best meatloaf" she ever had, they ran out of mashed potatoes which is the normal side with the meatloaf. Their wine offerings could be better! Servers are mostly great but we have had one or two that are less than attentive. Drinks typically come slowly. Love the music on Saturday nights!!!
The food and ambiance was great!
And the performance of the wannabeatles was awesome!
