Puckett's Boat House
Thank you Heather for the last night @
Puckett’s Boathouse- can’t wait for the next adventure!!
Food was delicious
Love the boat house. We will miss you!!
Sad they’re closing!
Not at the present time the full branch buffet was not available and some items on the menu were not available we still had to pay full price
Everything was very fresh and homemade.
After church brunch. Had the buffet. A decent amount of selection and everything was really good.
Our overall experience was just ok. The server was very nice and attentive. There were just things that shouldn't have happened. A very nice gentleman brought our entrees, but we hadn't been brought our salads yet. He called out 'Landlubber' and set it down with shrimp on the plate. Also, they were out of the mashed potatoes that came with the Landlubber. The server offered to substitute a side salad which was accepted. The meal came out, not just with shrimp, but with sweet potato fries that were not ordered. That's when we noticed we hadn't been brought our salads. The salads were brought immediately (so they must have been ready) and we had to eat them with our entrees (once the corrected Landlubber was delivered). When we got the bill, there was a $3.00 upcharge for the side salad substitution that was not explained when it was offered. So, it wasn't really a 'substitution.' Also, one server kept bumping my friend's chair when she walked behind us. This happened so many times that my friend finally switched seats. The tables were very close together, but there's no reason to repeatedly bump your guest's chair. Overall, we were very disappointed. The restaurant was not full or even crowded so it was hard to understand so many issues. This was supposed to be a nice, New Year's Eve dinner, but we were less than impressed. It's unfortunate because we have enjoyed the Puckett's Grocery restaurant a few times and that's what I based my choice of restaurants on. I feel like, at the very least, the upcharge of the salad could have been comped after the mistakes and having to wait longer to get the Landlubber prepared as ordered. The customer service could have been better.
What do you do when you learn that a busy downtown Franklin restaurant that doesn't offer reservations has a 2 hour wait at 1:00PM? Don't panic! OpenTable can get you in a couple of blocks off the square at Puckett's Boat House! Our out of town company loved it! Downtown Franklin was a mad house that day and it was so nice to get away from the crowd. Our food & server at Puckett's Boat House was excellent!
We had a party of 9 and enjoyed friendly and fast service with good food.
Our first visit to PBH. Started our experience with the gumbo that ranks at the top of all I have ever eaten. It increased our expectations of the entrée's of red beans and rice and the beer batter cod. Neither dish let us down, both were great. Highly recommend PBH and we will return soon.
First time at Puckett’s- the food was very good and service great.
A good place to eat, although I got sick from the buffet. Not Puckett's fault; I saw people taking biscuits by hand instead of tongs and then putting stuff back. Same with a couple of other items. Unfortunately, I had already completed eating 2/3 of my food. Had I seen this before I ordered, I would have ordered off the menu. My wife ordered off the menu, and enjoyed a nice lunch. Lesson learned.
Food, service and live music was great. Sorry to hear its closing :(
Banana pudding is a must. Split the bucket- Ton of seafood
Love Pucketts Boathouse! Our server Quinn was friendly, personable and provided excellent service! Food was prepared perfectly! Very sad to hear our beloved Boathouse will be changing names, menu & atmosphere at the beginning of 2020. You will be missed.
The live music was the best part of the experience.
Too high for what you get. The food was barely hot, it was just very mediocre.
As usual, the food was excellent! We had the special of the day which was a fried green tomato BLT.
It was very good, but sloppy to eat. We had a reservation, but didn't need one as there were only a few other customers even though it was Saturday evening before a concert at the Franklin Theater.
Food was good, service was good and the guy singing was great. Can’t wait to go back!
This used to be my favorite restaurant. It was always crowded on a Saturday night. Not anymore. Something has changed. It was only about half full. Menu has been reduced. Food wasn't hot, and white wine was room temperature. The dollar bill charity is gone. I sure do hope they can turn it around.
Very good food! Nice atmosphere and friendly good service. Had some musical entertainment as well!
The Sunday Brunch selection seems to be slimming down, and the $7 price for a mimosa or bloody mary is a bit high.
Experience overall was good. My only complaint is the shrimp, oysters, & fish was so SALTY I had to take the breading off. Would have been great with regular breading.
Our group has been to Puckett's Boathouse several times. The food is always good, and the service is
always friendly and efficient. It was the same this time.
None of our food was worth the money. Two of us ordered coconut shrimp. It was way overdone and hard. We sent back one plate because they were very visibly overdone as in dark brown. The muddy something was a small bowl of plain fried catfish on plain macaroni andc cheese and very small portion. I will not go back and will not recommend anyone else do so. It was too expensive for food we could probably get at Dairy Queen. And the french fries were totally limp. Was no good.
It was a quiet Tuesday night and the musician was great on acoustic guitar. It was a pleasant dining atmosphere, but the food was just ok and a little pricey. We would go again, especially on a Tuesday, but I can't call it one of my favorites.
The food was pretty good- I’m not dying to go back and gave anything again. The service could have been better and it was not busy at all on Saturday night when we went. I did not need the reservation I had gotten. The tables were tiny and we had 3 put together for our group of 5 and none of them were the exact same height so that was fun to maneuver. The menus were also sticky and needed to be cleaned in a bad way. This was not in the top 5 of my favorite places to dine in downtown Franklin.
We ate very early at 5 pm. atmosphere was ok staff was friendly but seamed tired things improved when food was served. drinks were spot on
The special was trout but we opted for cobia with chimichurri and a chipotle cheddar grits cake which was delicious. Of course, we topped off our meal with a wonderful baked key lime pie. Delicious!
Food was good as always (3rd visit) not many people there so all was well except our server was not friendly and not to attentive.
Enjoyed the service and live music. Shrimp hush puppies were a very tasty appetizer.
Not enough artificial lighting outside. They were nice enough to provide candle though.
Seafood was extremely fresh and the dishes we ordered were so flavorful. Had been wanting to get there for a while now and finally managed to. Highly recommend.
We used to love this restaurant. I will say the ambiance is still great and the service is top notch, but the food has suffered over the years. My wife ordered the mud cat Mac and cheese. The catfish was great but underneath was a watery substance with barely any cheese flavor. I ordered the butterfly shrimp with fries, it was good but not great. End of the evening our bill was $100 for 2 entrees, an app and a couple drinks. Not worth it. Again, do want to give a big thumbs up to the staff and atmosphere, both are great! But for the food quality you’d expect $20 per person, not $50
We have visited all the Puckett’s restaurants and never had a bad meal.
The live music was a nice addition
Great food, great service! We had to eat earlier than usual and was pleasantly surprised at how much quieter it was....we could actually talk without screaming!
The food was very good and the server was excellent. When the music started the guitar was too loud and you could not here the singer very well and we were 25 feet from him.
I recently had a great experience dining at Puckett's Boat House restaurant with a friend. They have a great variety of food, especially seafood. I went on a Thursday evening and there were only a few other customers. The recorded music was nice and at a volume where my companion and I could talk without raising our voices. The service was excellent. Given that there were few customers that evening and no live music, going when there are more customers and live music might effect both the service and noise levels. However, the food was excellent and the wine was good. They serve a Coppola Cabernet that is the same quality as that found at some higher-end establishments. The overall value was great and I plan on returning there in the near future.
First time here & the food was EXCELLENT! Definitely looking forward to our return visit!!
I had the cod basket, two pieces were good, then when I cut into the 3rd piece it was raw. My daughter had the crab salad & she said it tasted awful, my sister tried it and didn’t like it either. Everyone else liked theirs. The radio was playing right over our table & it was hard to hear anyone talking.
