About Puckett's 5th & Church
Founded in the fifties, people have been congregating at Puckett"s for over half a century. We've updated a bit, added some recipes from our family and friends, and thrown in some great live music. But it's still Puckett's Grocery... nothing too fancy, but everything good. It's where the locals go for real food, real people and real fun.

Puckett's 5th & Church Ratings and Reviews
Everything was delicious. We were recommended to go to there by several people and it was very good. The appetizer was a good size not to much so you still had room for your meal. Having a reservation was a good thing as it is very popular and there was a long wait.
No wait due to making a reservation online. However we waited for 15 minutes before the server came over. She showed up with 6 glasses of water when there was only 5 of us. Got our orders wrong. Didn't come and check up on us at all. Felt the portion sizes were small due to the price. It was good but wouldn't come back
We’ve been here before and they never disappoint. Busy nights it’s a good idea to have a reservation. The food is great, service great. Tried breakfast there and it was great. Music is always good there too and it’s a cozy atmosphere. What can I say. Go and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
I was kinda disappointed. I ordered the house special and I should have known better. It had wings, pulled pork and ribs. The wings were great. The pulled pork was moist but without much flavor. The ribs were cooked good but lacked any flavor. The waiter could have done a better job of keeping us in drinks.
We have been here several times before a play at TPAC and the food has been pretty good but this time it was only fair, rather dry. It is always crowded and pretty noisy but being close to the theater is a plus. However, I don't think it's really great value for the money so I probably won't be back.
We enjoyed an early dinner before going to the Ryman. There is a happy hour special 3-6 pm so we had the winter sangria and some fried pickles to start (very salty). For dinner, two people enjoyed the macaroni and cheese with the pork barbecue underneath of it. It earned rave reviews. The other two of us had fried green tomato BLTs. Unfortunately, it was lackluster. Very dry (guess it’s not the time of year for tomatoes), bread wasn’t toasted and wasn’t sourdough but just a white bread. Be warned, the restaurant is chilly. Service was efficient and meals came quickly. Overall, good!
This is one of our favorite places to eat in Nashville. We live in Missouri but visit Nashville often. We always plan at least one meal at Puckett's when in town. It is a short walk to The Ryman after dinner. I was very excited the first time at Puckett's for breakfast when I found out that I could get pulled pork on my pancakes. We will be back.
I was excited to eat at the famous Puckett's Grocery I had read so much about in my research prior to visiting Nashville. My experience was fine, but I feel like it didn't really live up to the hype. We were there at 10 PM on Saturday and it was almost empty, which was fine I guess as the live music was still lively and entertaining, but the food was also just "okay" compared to other places we had been... so overall I was left a little disappointed based on my expectation. Maybe it's better during the day? I got the meatloaf by the way if you're wondering.
Had a dinner reservation on Jan. 16. The restaurant closed early due to snow (even as nearby events and concerts went on), but no one from Puckett's bothered to contact us. Walked from our hotel to the restaurant only to find a note taped to the door. Really?
We ate here three times during our visit. Although we were staying right across the street that wasn't the reason for going back. Their food was excellent. The service was wonderful. Fried chicken to die for. Love their pucket light beer and husband liked the Yazoo beer. A+++
