Public Landing Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We ad a wonderful meal. It was a birthday celebration, just my wife & me. My wife had the rib eye & wedge salad. It was tender and tasty. I had prime rib stroganoff. It was excellent. We would both recommend our dinners. The restaurant is decorated beautifully for Christmas.
Nice place, service was good, but the food was really bad. My wife ordered the filet and lobster tail, I got the ribeye. Both steaks were underdone, not a big deal, but the quality was very low. The lobster tail was very tough and fishy, we could have gotten much better surf and turf at Red Lobster.
Could be a nice place for a sandwich or maybe the pasta, but stay away from the steak and sea food.
My husband and I had a wonderful first experience at Public Landing. The service was top notch. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, so the ambiance was lovely. I had the maple pork tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and it couldn't have been better. Hearty portions allowed me to take some home and enjoy the next day. My husband had the beef stroganoff and it was so good he polished off his healthy portion. We shared the peach cobbler for dessert and it was delicious. It was more expensive than a casual dining place, but that is ok. We were there for a special occasion and it was well worth it. I will definitely return.
The Public Landing is hands-down the absolute best. We have been going here for years and it just keeps getting better. My wife always enjoys a nice fillet, with grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. I’m a big fan of the fatty and flavorful ribeye with sautéed mushrooms. We will see you soon in the holiday decorations look beautiful.
Atmosphere is great, a few years ago it was stellar, not on Sunday, November 5th.
We had 7 women for dinner and none of us were a fan of our food. We all had different
Items. Our drinks were very good. Hoping it was just a fluke. I was embarrassed because
I suggested the place.
PUBLIC LANDING has been out date night restaurant fur 23 years and is always a beautiful romantic place to go to or any occasions for that matter. Service is excellent, we had MJ last night and she is so personable and attentive, food is always delicious and ambiance is great! We love this place!
Pleasant surprise! Looked for restaurant close to Joliet's Rialto Square Theater for pre-show dinner and this is only 15 minutes away. Good food, excellent service and nice ambiance. Will certainly return to check out the outdoor dining in the warmer months.
My husband went for Sweetest Day and the weather was beautiful which made the view spectacular. The fall colors were present in the trees and we were able to get some beautiful pictures before dinner. The menu was scrumptous and the entire experience was wonderful!
Due to traffic we were running about ten to fifteen minutes late, so I called. They were very nice and we see when you get here. We got there and our table was waiting. Very nice and our food was delicious. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone. Ambiance was perfect and so was the food.
I went to Public Landing for my birthday dinner. We had a table of 7, which included 2 children. They were able to accommodate our party easily. The service was great, the food was wonderful. I have to say, the parking was a bit limited, as we had to walk all the way across 159th to park. It was due to a wedding at the venue. Though understandable, was still a teensy bit irritating.
Very nice atmosphere. You can be casual or dressy and still be comfortable. They have a very nice patio that is dog friendly. The restaurant is in a historic building and the commuter train goes right by it. Noise level in the restaurant is minimal, on the patio it may be a little noisier but the trains go by very quickly. Service was very good. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and will definitely go back.
Always great food and great service. Nice atmosphere and ambiance. If you are going with older persons might night be so great if hard of hearing as if it is crowded might be hard to hear each other. We had no problems on this visit as it was just two of us but the last time there were six of us and it was too hard for them to hear the conversation .
Great food choices. Always have great choices for dessert. Always great specials on the drink menu as well as the food specials. It is our go-to place.
Meal was great. The only issue is with a discount I was using that was denied due to fine print. Read the fine print on all discounts. My discount actually stated "Cash only" for a requirement. It's 2017. Who requires cash? I feel this requirement was only placed in discount to catch the patron off guard and force them to spend higher price on meal. I felt terribly cheated.
Was a nice patio we had a little dog with. Waitress was very apologetic when she spilled a beer on me. We grabbed a table because we wanted an unbrella and didnt check in first and was approached and was told we should have checked in first. Food was ok nothing spectacular, cost $50 for 2 for lunch with 1 cocktail no appitizer and no dessert. Seemed pricey. Unsure if i would return.
