Always amazing and delish! The GM & staff are also amazing and hospitable. Would recommend a meal here any time!
Portions were tiny, particularly the pasta entrees. The cocktails were not good. Our server was great. We chose not to spend money on desert there with such an underwhelming appetizer and entree experience. Location was amazing.
I loved it because it was literally underneath the venue where we were seeing a show and parking is abundant and well lit.
Since I was visiting my son who I can't hear on a good day, the acoustics of the restaurant made it especially difficult. As an advocate for folks who may have issues with access (being able to hear is access, too) I would recommend that they ask about a spot in the restaurant where they have a better listening experience.
It was just ok. Wish they had a bigger menu, no dessert was offered and we were there for a birthday.
Very dark. Saw people using flashlight on phone to see menu. Very loud. We each had pasta dishes and found them bland. Server knew we were going to show, but service was slow. Don't think it was her, seemed to be kitchen.
My guest and I shared an appetizer, salad and pizza so we could try a few things and I must say the selection is always unique and delicious! We like the fact that the menu changes each season and the chefs are always creative putting options together that are sure to delight every individuals taste. The staff is always attentive and Christopher, the General Manager works a room like a pro making certain that everyone is acknowledged and feels welcome!
All was delightful as always!
Christopher always makes us feel so welcome and special. The server, Matt, was spot on. Could not get any better. My wings were a bit dry this last time. You must try their calamari - yum!
First, We didn't realize that this restaurant was part of the Renaissance Hotel. We were there in a Wednesday night at 5, so the place was dead. Which was exactly what we wanted. I could see this being a very busy place on a weekend or Friday night.
Second, I got faked out by the GoProvidence website. We booked it for restaurant week thinking there was a 2 for 1 dinner deal. There wasn't, it was $49 Prix Fixe per person. Not the end of the world, but still confusing advertising that was possibly someone else's fault. (Or I read the post wrong.)
That being said, we split two entrees for a reasonable amount. No drinks this time, but husband wants to go back seeing as 3/4 of their dessert menu is whisky.
Service excellent, food very good, music from a band playing way too loud.
Convenient to the VET. Great for show night. Limited Menu.
This restaurant is extremely good voice if going to an event at the Vet's Memorial. Make a reservation earlier than you think necessary so you are not rushed.
Public Kitchen has great ambience, wonderful service, very delicious food, and is located right netxt to Thevets . With the valet parking it was the perfect one stop for a wonderful evening with our adult grandchildren. Thank you!
Great for Xmas day.
Food not very good. Fried Calamari batter extremely greasy and no flavor. The cheeseburger was also greasy and not good. I would recommend not getting either of those. Drinks are steep at $14 each.
For the past 3 years Public Kitchen and Bar has been our family’s meeting place for the holidays.
It’s a central location for us and we enjoy the variety of menu offerings, Crafted drinks, great service staff and the Renaissance a hotel’s festive decor...Where our annual family Christmas photo is taken. Thank you Public Kitchen and Bar!
Creative killer cocktail list! Love their bar area. Very cool vibe.
Steven the bartender is great!
Christopher always makes us feel welcome. Matt, our server, was excellent.
Would not make omelette other than what was on menu. Never had that experience before!!
Our waitress was terrible. She didn’t ask for a drink order, we had to ask for bread, and she never checked to ask how our dinner was.
Food was ok but was pricey
We were there for Thanksgiving but also had offerings off the dinner menu as well, which was great for the non-turkey & vegan family members.
The setting was festive. The front counter/check-in was welcoming & offered coat check in.
We had Matt as our waiter. Matt greeted us with a welcoming smile. He was attentive, courteous and friendly. The food was delicious(salmon,
filet mignon, margarita pizza, impossible berger) & their crafted drinks were amazingly good.
An odd mix of good and not-so-good. The server was nice, but rushed and seemed stressed during every interaction. The COCKTAIL SHRIMP was terrible (possibly some of the worst we’ve ever had)—odd texture and flavorless. The SHAVED HONEYCRISP APPLE AND KOHLRABI was an odd combination of ingredients that did not work—it was almost inedible, but being hungry we ate most of it. This “from the pantry” item was attempting to be something interesting and unusual, and failed at being something clearly classified as food. After that, things improved. The dinner course we had was excellent all ‘round: PORK BELLY GRILLED CHEESE, GRILLED FAROE ISLAND SALMON, and STEAK FRITES WITH FILET MIGNON. The desserts were also quite good: CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CRUNCH BAR and the COFFEE TART. The main course and the desserts definitely saved the meal.
Food was exceptional...but restaurant was too dark! One guest and 2 servers either dropped or knocked over glasses causing them to break and splatter!
Christopher, the Manager, who seems like he is ALWAYS working manages to make everyone feel special as he makes certain to greet everyone with a smile. He is very attentive as he "works the room" to keep an eye on things and make sure your needs are met. Our server, I believe her name was Meg? (I feel awful that her name escapes me!) as was equally attentive and patient in suggesting items off the menu to try. I find the selections unique and I like the fact that the menu changes seasonally so there is always something new and different.
Christopher always makes us feel so welcome. He stops by to check if everything is going fine. I lovethe personal touch.
Great food with good friendly service.
Our server was fantastic, the meal was excellent a as well
The service was not great, the food was okay, and I just didn’t understand the menu and the selections to choose from
Loved it! It is also immediately next door to Veterans Memorial Auditorium where we were headed after dinner. ALSO had valet parking. Super good place. Great food, service, ambiance and value. Would go again in a heartbeat 💓
This brunch spot has gone downhill in a big way. Our plates looked like we had just gone through the buffet line on a Monday morning at Courtyard by Marriott. Tasted like it, too.
The prices however....
There is nothing to recommend about this place anymore. You can do better.
Seated in a quiet booth near the back away from the bar and loud party of 8 - thank you to the kind manager who seated us there. Able to concentrate on the menu, enjoy conversation with my husband on our night out and enjoy to the maximum all the delightful fare there is to choose from. Can't go wrong on anything- we had the exquisite clam chowder, scallops, filet mignon and the tagliatelle. Dessert: s'mores -- so fun and inviting to the palate -- and the cocktails were full of zest and offered a balanced experience.
We came in from out of town for a show at the VETS auditorium, it was right next door and we were pleasantly surprised at the great ambiance, as well as great food, drink and service! We would definitely return!
We had reservations for a concert next door and told the waitress about it. She was prompt with service and pleasant. The food is pub-type but good, and prices were reasonable. Glass of wine was very generous.
Unique dishes, great service and accommodations if you are going to see a show!
Excellent food, great and accommodating service.
Loved it. Just right for a pre-show dinner at the RI Philharmonic next door!
Awesome food! Very attentive staff! Highly recommend!
Food and wait staff were excellent. Ambiance was beautiful.
The food was really good. However a small amount for the price
People were extremely friendly but the they were having a private function so they were very busy and we felt we were left aside.
