Throughout the space of Public, a modernist sensibility is blended with a classic American, Newport mansion drawing room theme. It's design is inspired by the existing architecture of the Masonic Temple and it's Rhode Island Capital Statehouse neighbor. They accommodate our being a bit late, our canceling at the last minute, no problems ever. Very welcoming and great service.

We decided to eat here because we were going to a show at the VETS. So happy we did! Delicious food and pleasing atmosphere. We never felt rushed nor did we wait for anything. They have a smaller menu…but we appreciate that, I feel it allows the chefs to focus on primary entrees which leads to more flavorful and enjoyable meals. Definitely will return.

My sever August was excellent and very friendly . Christopher the manager was friendly and makes for a very good dining experience.

The best staff hands down…the food is good, but I come back here repeatedly for the service — Lindsay, August, Christopher…they are the nicest people and great at what they do!

This is your go to destination for pre-show @ Vets Auduitorium! Step out the front door and your are already at the theater and optional valet parking is a deinite perk! The food was delicious and they made sure to please us with surprising us with some irish themed items on a special menu-nobody goes through such trouble, such a surprise and the corned beeef was melt in your mouth delicious. My Irish eyes were smiling. I had hosted this event with friends from work and they were amazed thru dinner and with the show. It made me look like a superstar! Thanks so much Public Kitchen- Coleen

Had an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, contributing to a truly memorable dining experience. Our waiter was particularly impressive, offering insightful recommendations and a deep knowledge of the menu that made our choices even easier. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic meal, and I will definitely be returning!

Made reservations before the concert next door. Menu had a little bit of everything. Drinks were perfectly made. Appetizers, entrees and desserts spot on. Will definitely go back!
