Pleasant but real-estate is a bit cramped. Appetizers were better than entrees, but both were fine. Not a bad place to be if you aren't anywhere else.

The occasion for our visit was Restaurant Week. The Oysters Rockefeller were briny and delicious. The trout over root veggies was inspired and all cooke perfectly. The dessert was a selection of flavors fudges - all very tasty.

We love this restaurant and go there every time we visit Charlottesville. With many delicious seafood options and an extensive wine list, we find ourselves always trying something new. The oysters are lovely, the service is top-notch, and the restaurant is a hidden gem. My husband and I like to share plates, and the chef was very accommodating for us. Standouts for us are the fresh, local oysters, mussels and clam chowder. We, unfortunately, sat next to a rather boisterous table our last time dining there, but definitely no fault of the restaurant (it was a busy Saturday night.) We absolutely love this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

great addition to the Charlottesville dining scene, everyone there was having a good time; seafood centric menu, highlighted by many kinds of raw oysters. Fried oysters were lightly breaded and tasty as well. Make sure to order the pan roast (though it seemed light on the oysters), the sauce is amazing and a perfect use for the fresh bread served with the meal.

Discovered by accident, but has become a go-to for great taste. Atmosphere casual but not sloppy. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent oyster selection with accurate descriptions. Main dishes "pop" with flavors. A real treat, and good value, too!

Public is one of our favorite places in town. It's hard to find anywhere that has the selection and quality of oysters that they have and a better wine list. The waitstaff is friendly and professional and the food is top notch. I have gone with friends for and ordered multiple courses (as I did the time of this review) and I have gone by myself and eaten at the bar. No matter what the occasion, every meal should start with a tray of oysters and their amazing fries.
