Sunday Brunch 10:00 am
I’ve been here a lot and always like it but service was rough during my last visit- two of the three entrees were brought out 15 minutes before the last and I had to get another waitress to grab me a drink because ours went missing. Normally really like it so hoping it was just a one off!
I went here with some friends for a late dinner. The ambience is really nice and it has a comfortable, laid back feel. The menu has good variety and so did the specials. I opted for the 12 oz NY strip. I was thoroughly disappointed. The meat was bland and undercooked (I like a bleeding medium rare so this is saying something). Quite let down for a $32 steak. Will not be returning or recommending to others.
Pub and Kitchen is a neighborhood staple - delicious burger and good beer list.
Love Pub & Kitchen for upscale casual dining. The burgers are my favorite!
Usually come here for late-night snacks/dinner and drinks, was pleasantly surprised by the solid brunch menu and kid-friendly environment for a large group.
Been wanting to eat here for awhile... so happy I finally did. Food was really great, beautiful night to sit outside too.
The mushroom omelette had a weird taste, almost unpleasant. On the pricey side for $16. The salad was fresh and lovely, that was the best part, as was the sour dough toast.
Great upscale pub atmosphere with tasty food and lively bar scene.
Didn’t actually eat here..the restaurant week menu listed online was completely different from what was offered in person. There was a steak listed online and just a burger listed in person, among many other differences
Our server was fantastic. She made our experience great.
Advertised restaurant week special as 4 course meal - at restaurant they stated this was a “typo” despite being printed on the menu and website, and provided a menu completely different from what was advertised on the restaurant week website. We selected this restaurant based on the 4 courses and the menu originally advertised, so it was disappointing. Also, server kept forgetting items. Overall, unimpressive but not awful.
The food was great, the service was not.
I eat here every time thinking it is going to be good, and it isn't!
The service is really bad.The food is never good, but sometime awful.
The last time we were there we were the only people in the back room ,and we were ignored.
We eat out often, and live in the "neighborhood".We feel with a little EFFORT the restaurant could be
good.Instead it feels like a high school or community college cafeteria.
I used to come here a lot and the food was always quite good. But this time my son and I both had meals we did not enjoy. The burger which used to be wonderful was just ok and I had a salad drenched in dressing. Hopefully it was just an off night.
It was extremely loud. My party could not hear each other well but we got over that. The burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The Brick Chicken entree was interesting. The chicken itself was good but the rice was extremely hard and undercooked. The Brick Chicken entree was honestly a waste of money because we could only eat one part of the whole meal. The calm appetizer and the lobster roll entree was probably the best and tastiest parts of the experience. I would return for drinks at the bar only next time.
Ran into my daughter, husband and Grandson at your restaurant . they were leaving with their food packed up it’s disappointing you only have booster seats Please invest In some high chairs. It would have been a nice dinner had their son not had to sit in the booth.
Best Fried Chicken in Philly!
It is very noisy inside, making it difficult to have any sort of conversation. Food is delicious, but pricey. Wine by the glass is also expensive. Service is terrific & the outdoor seating is very nice.
I used to LOVE Pub and Kitchen and my husband and I used to go there all the time. But recently, it has gone downhill. Maybe it's the summer months, when the staff might be different (and perhaps servicing the owner's other restaurant in Avalon?) But I must admit, I was disappointed. The menu had been updated - which is great - but the salad we ordered was really really salty (I couldn't eat it); they were unwilling to adapt any of the menu items (adding a protein to a salad would require additional preparations from the kitchen, but not a crazy ask from a customer). And the service was just OK.
I really want to go back, but will need to give it a think before doing so.
Food was good for those who could eat it. We had a gluten free guest and the menu options were limited to basically one thing. Check first!
Nice atmosphere. Nice sidewalk cafe. Have enjoyed brunches a lot, but find the dinner food just so so. Much too much salt and trying too hard in ways. Simpler might work better.
Breakfast options were underwhelming and the bloody mary was downright awful. I would give it another chance but overall not entirely impressed
We had a great brunch...a new item on menu- the focaccia bread pizza with broccoli rabe, ricotta and egg was interesting and delicious. The marinated tofu Bahn mi was also really tasty. The special Aperol Spritzer was lovely for a warm spring day. It's always lively and LOUD inside. We love this neighborhood gastropub!! There is something for everyone on the menu.
Haven’t been to P&K in years. This was a brunch visit. It was good, but nothing special really.... Baked eggs with fennel sausage in tomato sauce, similar to a shakshuka, was decent. Friend had an egg sandwich. Also decent. We heard their Bloody Mary’s were out of the world. Nope. My regular one was tiny, with one lonely olive, served in a wine glass, weirdly. Friends bloody was the Wrangler, a spicy version. Tasted ok, but was a salt bomb. Everything was overpriced. The bacon was super fatty and disappointing. Oh well. Service was great - friendly and attentive.
This place remains a strong neighborhood go-to for good food and decent drinks.
Back again to phenomenal oysters
The East-Coast oysters at six for $10. are the most delightful bargain in town. The oysters are so good, don't put any sauce or vinaigrette on them; they are superb by themselves and much better than the buck-a-shuck at the Oyster House, I am not happy to say. I used to love coming to the Oyster House on Sansom. I can't say I've liked anything else at Pub and Kitchen, not so much the famous hamburger and not the brussel sprouts with grated cheese on top. I say these are the best oysters in town and a phenomenal bargain at Happy Hour (4-6!). As for the sauce, ask for bread. They don't have oyster crackers or saltines, OK. But you ask for bread, and they give lovely slices of grilled baguette. Get that to savor their excellent oyster sauces, but the oysters are too delicious on their own to put the sauce on. All the specialty beer was half price too, a big deal, but not for me, and I thought the cocktails were a bit watery.
We were visiting from out of town and celebrating our anniversary. The food was outstanding, cocktails and beer were great and the service was fantastic. It was St. Patrick’s day - so probably a little louder than normal, but I was glad we were seated in the back room.
The gnocchi was amazing!! Would definitely go back.
Very good, we enjoy P&B but wish the menu were a little more extensive. Sometimes we bring friends who aren’t familiar and they’re surprised at how limited it is. That said what we chose was delicious, root vegetable pie, vegetarian pasta, Brussels sprouts, wings. All were perfectly prepared and flavorful. Not your typical bar food!!
This place always knocks it out of the park!
Have had 2 great dinners and one great brunch. Really like this place as a neighborhood go to.
Noise level extremely high
Salad starters average
Braised short rib very poor and stringy
Bronzino good beans bad
Olive oil cake inedible
Apple dessert excellent
We went to Pub and Kitchen for restaurant week. The music was way too loud but everything else was great. Lots of energy at this place at happy hour time frame. The food was terrific, the service was excellent, and we would go back!
excellent food-a bit too noisy for my tastes. Hanger steak was outstanding.
Delicious, delicious, delicious! Lovely, cozy old world, yet very now, decor and ambiance. Great neighborhood restaurant worth traveling to. Attentive service and an all-around terrific restaurant. We went for a birthday and had the greatest time. A special little gem.
Loved the food! It was just a bit cold where we were sitting.
The hostess was very accommodating with our families as we had two children in car seats. The back room is just as fun and cozy as the bar area. Service was great and attentive. Their happy hour deals are fantastic. Probably the best brussel sprouts I’ve ever eaten. The burger lived up the hype. As a party of 4 adults we are our way through most of the menu and everything was great. It was a perfect place to get together with friends and we will definitely be back since they were helpful in getting us seated with a baby, which is a challenge at most places.
Great food, awesome atmosphere and our server was great- easy going, fun, informative about not only the menu, but also Philly!
Loved the positive energy in this restaurant. Wings were different in a good way. Broccoli starter was fabulous. My salmon was perfectly cooked.
