About Pub & Kitchen
For more than nine years, P&K has been one of Philadelphia’s quintessential restaurants for quality dishes, craft cocktails and elevated farm to table offerings. Pub & Kitchen has been a comforting neighborhood staple with its selection of local beers on tap (“Pub”) and mouth-watering gourmet fare (“Kitchen”). Menu additions like fresh seasonal pastas and amazing seafood helped us garner a “three-bell review”: from Inquirer food critic Craig LaBan. The ever-evolving menu places an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and satisfying flavors. At the bar, enjoy a quirky selection of bar snacks, crafted cocktails or a nice glass of wine. Brunch offerings include dutch baby pancakes, classic egg dishes and powerful cocktails like the Wrangler, our spicy take on a Bloody Mary.

Pub & Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
The hostess was very accommodating with our families as we had two children in car seats. The back room is just as fun and cozy as the bar area. Service was great and attentive. Their happy hour deals are fantastic. Probably the best brussel sprouts I’ve ever eaten. The burger lived up the hype. As a party of 4 adults we are our way through most of the menu and everything was great. It was a perfect place to get together with friends and we will definitely be back since they were helpful in getting us seated with a baby, which is a challenge at most places.
Came for brunch with a few friends and had a great experience. We had a wonderful spot outside on an absolutely gorgeous day.
Our waiter was great and accommodating and let us put two tables together as we actually knew the people next to us.
Food was fantastic. Great restaurant, service and food!
Great spot for dinner with friends. Food was great -- ordered a whole bunch of apps to share, including brussel sprouts, calimari, oysters, and the pretzel. All were great! The entree selection is limited and some of the entrees are expensive -- we all went with the burger, which was delicious (and a reasonable price). Cocktails were approachable and well made. Service was excellent. Would return!
Overall it was pretty good. The food was really good despite the limited options. The burger was great and cooked to order though be sure to specify how you would like it cooked. The handmade pasta was really tasty however the portion size was tiny, my guest got this dish and we had to stop somewhere on the way home as he did not get enough to eat, that was a little disappointing. The experience would have been much better if we had been seated further away from the bar. The noise level was the loudest I have ever experienced while in a restaurant or bar. It was seriously deafening. At first I let it go because I figure all the other seats were taken but after getting up to use the restroom there was another dining room with only two parties in it that they failed to mention. Despite the good food and pretty good service, the good and the bad are about equal.
Darling place with a bar food type menu that was okay to good and varied drink selection but way too loud and cramped for dinner and any conversation. Lucky walk ups get tables outside which in a lovely night would seem delightful and quiet enough o have a conversation. If you make a reservation then apparently these tables are not available to you.
I live in the neighborhood and am constantly taking friends to what used to be one of my favorite local restaurants. However, on July 4 it was horrible and disappointing--I'm hoping that perhaps they were training a new chef? Pretzel with crab hard to eat , hamburger over-salted, beignets equally terrible and tasteless. The waitress, however, was great--she's a regular.
I won't be going back anytime soon after this experience.
Completely underwhelmed by everything. Service was beyond slow and not attentive. Only one glass of water is standard apparently. The fish and chips for $20 was literally the most expensive item on our $90 bill and it was one super small fish stick of fish under 5 undercooked potatoes wedges. Super disappointed for a $100 meal.
Normally the back is pretty quiet but really unpleasant AC or generator creates awful vibration.
Terrific food. Waiter modestly attentive. Would say that the men's room is not handicap accessible. Grandpa made it up the steep stairs but it was quite a work out.
Not handicap friendly.
Gastro-Pub sells this place short. Food is a notch above most, excellent dishes, always fresh ingredients, recently revised menu, not that anything at all was wrong with the existing one. Portions sized right and fairly priced. Highly recommend the stuffed meatballs on polenta. Staff and service always competent and pleasant. Good beer and cocktails. You should consider it a go to standard when you can't decide where to go.
Tried P&K for the first time last night following a play at the Suzzanne Roberts Theater. It worked out well, as we attended the Sunday Matinee, and the show let out at 4:15pm. So walked the five blocks up to the corner of 20th and Lombard, and asked to be seated outside. The dinner menu didn't start until 5pm, so we had Wine and the Marinated Gouda to start. The Gouda was fantastic, with marinated Turnips mixed amongst the cheese, a really nice surprise, and quite tasty. Definitely recommend! For dinner our group had three dishes - the Meatballs - given 2 Thumbs up, the Pasta was nice, and the Skate (Fish of the day) was perfectly crisp on top and moist and soft on the bottom. Very Yummy! Our server was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.
