Well, it helped that I was having dinner with a very buff man. But beyond that we shared entrees of broiled walleye and the baked chicken, asparagus as mashed potatoes. I must say the chicken was amazing. Very tender and moist. I would come back for that alone. Service was perfect and using open table was great for our reservation.
Food And service was average at best. I disappointed with the flat walleye sandwich and pasta with not enough chicken I would not go back. And open table sends too many emails for an average restaurant.
Food and service was great for a reasonable price. The jambalaya was awesome and drink selection was good.
Definitely going back
Pub 42 is a pleasant spot for a good lunch. The dining room was closed (on a Monday) but the bar area was bright and comfortable. The menu is varied, though it lacks spicy fare. Each member of our party enjoyed his food order. The wait person was attentive, courteous, and efficient.
Very pleasant, family atmosphere true it had a bar at the other end. For Valentine's had a special menu. I have a restricted diet but the salmon was a little dry, the green beans needed more flavor. The asparagus was good
Food was good. We were in main dining area and it was a bit cold. I kept my coat on and my husband wrapped his coat around is legs. Nice mix of clientele age wise. Had a old school supper club vibe.
They had good specials for Valentine’s Day.
Overall it was a good experience. Wait staff was very attentive and the food was delivered quickly. I was disappointed with the Prime Rib I ordered. It was a bit tough and chewy. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. My hubby loved his Chicken Fried Steak.
Great food and service!!!
First time sitting outside the bar area, took 20 minutes to be acknowledged, half of the table's food came out a few minutes before the other half and the appetizers didn't come out so we canceled them when we all got our entrees. Food that we had was great, but will definitely stick to the bar side for better service.
the food at Pub 42 is horrific. it was a very bad dining experience.
Didn’t have my reservation. Said this often happens with Open Table. They suggest calling rather than using Open Table.
Meet business partners for lunch. Pretty busy, but also the week before Christmas. Always great food and service, thank you Pub 42.
Everything we ate was fantastic. Best cheese curds I’ve ever had! Service was so fast it’s like they started making our food before we ordered!!
Overall a good night out
Food had mixed reviews. Walley sandwich seemed like it was not fresh, had an Oder, and was overcooked with too much breading. BLT was good. Service was a bit slow.
Great little pup to stop in for happy hour and/or dinner. Service was attentive and prices are very reasonable. I recommend for a nice "date night" out.
The pub side of the restaurant was hopping and looked fun. This is your basic burger/sandwich place—I wouldn’t stray too far from the basics. We were told the brownie sundae was awesome and while it was huge, the brownies were rock hard and pretty tasteless.
The restaurant is beautiful and was very accessible for my aunt, who was in a wheelchair. The food was great and we enjoyed everything about the experience.
Bar and patio are energetic. Dining area quiet and great for older folks.
Not enough servers even though they closed the dining room (during dinner time). We had to sit on the bar side which was noisy.
Overall the food was OK. Service was excellent, it was a weeknight and the bar was very packed so it made the restaurant even that much more noisy. We have been here in the past and had very good food. Tonight for some reason it felt like it ranked just above an Applebees. Filling but not as good as expected. My shrimp tacos were more breading then shrimp and my GF’ said she did not love her beet salad. We will return again to try some other time. Maybe it was just an off night, or maybe we Just set our expectations too high. The service was excellent. The server was every pleasant and she was very attentive.
Been there a few times food is usually good but this time it was just okay. Service was bad , waitress was rude and service was slow .
I ordered the summer pasta. The flavor was spectacular. But I wouldn't order it again nor would I recommend it, your chef doesn't know how to prepare asparagus. The pcs were mostly woody ends, not appetizing at all.
Fabulous as always!!
So we didn't end up eating because the cook refused to separate a couple eggs so my friend could have just egg whites.
I had a salmon special that was very good [salmon, hard boiled egg, capers, red peppers, toast rounds, and an aiola sauce] for a somewhat reasonable price. Ate outdoors on a beautiful day but every time someone [and it was a main path for servers] walked by the table shook and so did our chairs. That was a little annoying. Server was ok; got the job done but not very attentive...could improve on that.
I noticed when I walked indoors it was FREEZING inside...SO glad we didn't sit in there!
I've been going to this location (now Pub 42) for many years. Service is good, a bit hit or miss on the food. They have the BEST BLT with spicy sweet bacon. I some appetizers, pretzel sticks w/ cheese sauce. While the sauce tasted good it was very runny which was a bit unappealing. Nachos were so so. Tempura beans were very good, as was the sauce to dip in. Quesadillas were wonderful.
Great food, GREAT service! I went with co workers and it was a great place to get to know my new co works
We were very happy with the experience we had at Pub42. Our waitress was very good with us. She was there when we needed her and brought us our meals very quickly and kept our drinks filled. Your prices were very reasonable and the food was great tasting.
Waiter started off on the wrong foot by spilling ice water on Grandma, followed by unknown but disgusting objects in the cloth napkins and my daughter's water was served in a broken glass. Icing on the cake? Sister put her purse in chair next to her and only found out after she picked it up and put it in her lap there was a heavy layer of grease on said chair, now on her purse and her pants. Definitely need to step up the service game - food was pretty good but don't expect more than one blueberry in your granola (they added 3 red grapes instead, those are not blueberries).
The hostess couldn’t find our reservation. When we asked to sit in a booth she couldn’t clean the one that was available. They were short staffed for servers and she was leaning against the desk while the one server appeared to motion to her asking her to help out.
Our server was extraordinary. He was attentive, called us by names, thanked us, refilled our waters, had a great sense of humor.
Always good food. Especially like the burger and Sherrie’s Salad. Dining room is quiet for conversation.
We love the Pub Membership that gives us a discount.
Nice deck for dinning al fresco although they do not allow tables to be combined (we were 9).
Service was fun but not great - missed order.
Still I'd recommend it.
Nice place to have good food and visit with friends and family
Pub 42 did not have a reservation for our group even though I received a confirmation email from Open Table. We were able to be seated because there were open tables. The food server was not very attentive even tho it did not appear to be extremely busy. We had to flag him down for beverage refills. The food was good.
I reserved a table for 8 for 5:30 PM several hours in advance. When we arrived, there was no reservation in place. I was told that when you reserve a table online it doesn't always get passed along from management to the staff.
My friends and I were looking for a place to meet up once a week after work. This experience has made us interested in looking elsewhere.
Food is good, service is good, but this is unacceptable.
Fun place - they were very nice and accommodating to find a spot for us on the patio - it was a sunny evening. The food was tasty, and the servers were attentive! Walleye finger starter was good - Asian salad was delicious!
Awesome dinner on the patio. Happy hour goes until 7pm.
Don’t make your reservation through Open Table, they claim it’s “iffy” that they’ll get it. Told us there wasn’t a reservation.
It’s got a great menu and is a nice casual restaurant.
