At Psari our specialty is fresh and delicious seafood with a Greek twist. "Psari" is Greek for "fish" and that simple word is the inspiration behind our menu. We serve a variety of fresh whole fish daily including red snapper, black sea bass and porgy. For the carnivores among you, we offer juicy porterhouse steak, tasty lamb chops and flavorful grilled chicken.
Psari offers a full bar and an international wine list with selections that pair perfectly with our menu. We feature a newly-renovated setting that is both comfortable and chic; the atmosphere is casual and our friendly and inviting staff will make you feel like family.

Psari Ratings and Reviews
Although a good Greek restaurant is to be expected in Astoria or LIC, this to me was a rather great surprise. The food was exceedingly fresh and tasty with a variety of choices for every person of our party. In addition, the waiters made the experience so friendly and memorable I felt as though we were dining in a tiny family owned taverna of some distant Greek island. I came back and see myself coming again and again for the warmth and tastiness of the place. Highly recommend for any party.
This is much more than the average Queens Greek seafood restaurant. I would describe it as a neighborhood restaurant with high overtones of sophistication, warmth, great food and ambiance. The wait staff, the owner, the hostess were all above and beyond friendly and warm and accommodating.
My friend and I each had a glass of wine and he has clams while I had deliciously sweet Canadian oysters. Yum, yum. Then we shared a salad, a grilled Branzino, lemon potatoes and a coffee. It was delicious.
There was a couple at the next table who were staying in the area because their son was playing at the US Open. Other people were friendly also.
Of course, if you don't want to chat with strangers, you don't have to do so, but after a little wine, and great food, everyone is friendly.
I forgot to mention that we sat outside, end of August, and it was delightful. I suspect the winter may become a big loud inside, but then, that's restaurants today.
Didn't have one of their regular menu items (sea bass) so we had to choose a different item. (Didn't mention they were out until after I ordered it. )Then when we chose a different item, the waitress left and later came back and said the price for the item we ordered is more expensive than what the menu said it would be. Kinda annoyed since last time I was here I did not have any of these problems. But wasn't going to make a scene during the date so I just paid it. Food was alright this time around. Definitely better the first time I had it.
Was expecting a quiet dinner but there was a group of women that were very loud right next to our table. Moving was not an option, the place is narrow and the sound carries. The greek salad was very good, the medium size is shareable. My broiled filet of sole was cooked well, but lacked flavor.
Enjoy it every time my family gets together there for special occasions or just a lunch or dinner. Although we have been fans of Bahari for many, many years we love coming to Psari for a little more diverse menu of foods and wines as well as for real desserts! The atmosphere can be more pleasant with less noise and screaming children but overall we love to go back to a delightfully attentive staff and great food!
Did not have my reservation in their system but told me not to worry-the place had plenty of seating. Had to ask for bread three times. Waitress was nice but it really is tasty seafood. Just had to ask three times for bread. It's a small place but good Greek seafood.
Went here on a Friday evening for dinner. What I loved about the place was how friendly and warm the employees were. For that alone I would love to come back!
Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. List below.
1/2 Dozen Blue Point Oysters: Great! Presentation was lovely.
Greek Salad: Ordered without lettuce ($3 upcharge?) and the feta was lovely. Quite large for the small portion I ordered.
Crab Cakes: Not as crispy as I would have liked, and was mushy. Perhaps more time cooking would be best.
Lobster Tails: Completely overcooked. Side of butter couldn't make this better. I was hungry, so I ate it, but I was so disappointed.
Broiled platter: Presentation was hideous, but it wasn't bad I guess.
Side of veggies: Looked like the frozen bag you got at the supermarket.
The staff are very nice. They try to make everything as best as possible for you. The manager offered to get us a better table once it was available. Some of the seafood is fresh so we had some sand in our mussels. The waitress offered to get us a new plate. However once they brought us new mussels the taste was a bit watered down. We didn't end up eating it but they did take it off our bill. The manager was always there and asked how things were as did the waitress. The manager also offered drinks on the house. I would not mind going here to have some lunch or dinner with friends but not on a special occasion.
We had a GROUPON, which included two glasses of house wine, two appetizers, two sides, and two lobsters. Food came out very quickly. Shrimp bisque and fish soup were delicious. Broiled lobster was tasty. Our waitress was very friendly. They needed our table to accommodate a large party and asked us to move. We of course were happy to help and they were very generous and bought us coffee and dessert.
While the seafood-dominated menu lacks creativity or unique flavors, the dishes are generally Mediterranean & familiar; thusly this place is large @ open enough to entertain families with members of all ages & palettes. The server did point out a weekly regular half-off house bottle wine special, so for a date or large group, that is always a nice value.
I had a reservation for 5:30 pm & I called at 2 pm to confirm. I was told "no problem".
I arrived 10 minutes early and was told there's no table because they were super busy and whether if I would mind sitting at the bar. I do see a bunch of people waiting for tables. Since I'm alone, it's not such a big deal and I don't know how long I would have to wait; I said the bar is okay. While I was eating I noticed empty tables inside and outside the restaurant. So I guess it was single discrimination for not getting a table even though a reservation was made.
I sat at the bar. After a few minutes the bartender asked me if I'm ready to order. I told her I have a Groupon for lobsters. She told me they don't have any lobsters. I told her I called earlier to confirm and everything was OK then, that I was never told there was no lobster. The bartender asked me what time I called (does that really matter?). I told her I have to look at my phone log. She then went on to attend to other matters. Next thing I knew she came back to me and said there's now lobsters. What just happened? Someone just went to Key Food a block away and bought some?!
The champagne was so flat. I think they give Groupon customers cheap champagne because I hear one waitress telling the bartender "2 champagnes for a Groupon". Why mention Groupon unless there is a distinction between what product they actually receive. The food was okay. The service was good. They checked with me several times if I was doing okay.
Overhear the bartender asking the hostess - what's in a Cosmo? This place is a circus. I heard the bartender said quite a few times "this is chaos". They can't handle being so busy.
I don't think I will be back and I don't recommended this place.
