P.S. & Co. Ratings and Reviews
Every thing is vegan, gluten-free, and organic. Since we usually eat vegan, that was a plus. The gluten-free rolls on our burgers were OK but would rather have had a good Le Bus or Metropolitan roll. (Maybe instead of "gluten free available" wish they had "gluten available" for their rolls.) Service fabulous. Quiet, charming. Burgers and other "entrees" are reasonably priced (especially when compared to a local vegan take-out place that has a rather well-known burger and sweet-potato fries). The desserts and other things seemed too much. Their "ice cream" is coconut based so it, like several things on the menu, are pretty high fat. Try the beet burger. BYOB and they take credit cards.
I was looking forward to this because Philly has many excellent vegetarian/vegan restaurants, and I am not even a vegetarian! The ambiance was good. The menu was a bit limited. The food we ordered was good, not great. Ramen had a nice flavor, but not a good portion, wished it had more. The tiramisu was good. The service was poor. Maybe a bad night. The server was polite and friendly, but it was just slow, had to remind him of my drink, and it wasn't even a busy night. So, to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was just a bad night. I wouldn't mind going there for coffee and dessert, probably not for dinner (especially if hungry).
What a gem of a spot! Great welcoming atmosphere, lots of plants with a minimalist/rustic feel. Their menu is gluten free and vegan. They clearly state what is soy free and nut free as well. I highly recommend their pizzas, beet burger, the coconut yogurt with granola, and the sweets!!! They also have so many juice, smoothie, healthy drink options.
What a gem! The ambiance is perfect, exposed brick walls and thick wood tables, plants and warm lighting. The food is exceptional - our table enjoyed avo toast, mushroom bacon, quinoa pancakes, quinoa french toast topped with fruit, and a tofu scramble. Presentation of food was wonderful, can't wait to back for breakfast, coffee, lunch, and everything in between!
My friend and I (we are both longtime vegans) went to P.S. and Co for Sunday brunch. It was a very disappointing experience. Everything we ordered tasted absolutely terrible. The texture of the pancakes and French toast were dense and yet soft in the middle, with zero flavor. We watched the patrons at the table next to us struggle to cut into their rock hard waffle. They seemed disgruntled.
The service was also extremely slow, even though there were only a few other patrons in the restaurant. We finished this awful meal and then it took the waitress 45 minutes to get us the check and be able to leave.
We had never been to PS and Co and were just looking for a nuce vegan option, as we had a few vegans in our group (I am not). We were charmed by the decor and taken aback by the food. The "cheese" platter is amazing, as all of the food we ordered. It has become one of our to go restaurant.
Great service. Waitress was very mindful of food allergies. Owner was welcoming. Food preparation was longer than anticipated. My wife finished her food well before mine arrived. Smoothie prices are very high. But it is Rittenhouse Square.
Food was excellent. I would visit again.
Andrea Kwan has created a wonderful gluten-free, vegan menu that is really inventive! She also builds the menu with a lot of integrity. When you eat here, you are guaranteed to eat ORGANIC food that contains is sourced from the best suppliers she can find. I'm impressed with the counter staff, too. Good place for a vegan, gluten-free brunch on weekends as well.
My son has celiac disease and I am prefer to eat as healthy and delicious as I can, and this fit the bill for us both! Even my husband, who typically eats the SAD diet, but is adventurous, enjoyed it as well. My son and I had the waffles, which were delicious and filling. We tried the mushroom bacon and that was out of this world! My husband had the avocado toast and he really liked it. A little overpriced, but good for a special occasion, and well worth the quality of the food. In addition, we did not have to worry about any gluten or possible contamination for my son, so it was worth it for us. The service did seem a little disorganized, but no issues of any sort. Will definitely go back for lunch or dinner.
My party of 4 arrived and we were told to pick 3 boxed food items as that was all they had left ! Seriously ? We left ! I called when I booked the reservation to see if the were serving dinner because I know they do not and she told me yes!
Not even a call to let me know ! The funny thing is you can still book them for dinner on open table even though they are really not serving it !
This place is amazing. The "bacon" is something to die for. The staff is so gracious and delightful. Full of knowledge about the food. I am so excited about their up coming evening events. Taco Thursday and Meatless Mondays! Follow them on FB for the changes in the menu and up coming events. Currently there is not a mailing list since I asked!
I went here with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and the menu was pre-fix. The first course was soup, which was very good. Then the entre came and I opted for the more filling pasta option over the zuchini noodle (wrong option) which was very bland and what flavor it did have was not very good. Finally the chocolate cake came and it was so rich I couldn't eat more than two bites. And this is coming from someone who loves chocolate cake and can handle rich food. My girlfriend really enjoyed the food though, so I can mark that as a win!
Overall I could tell they had it together and the food had potential. The ambiance was nice and the so was the staff. I would not recommend against it, but I will not be returning.
We had a very nice valentines. I did think that the space was quite cold during dinner - it was one of the coldest days of the year, so that is understandable, but something to keep in mind. The food took a long time to come out, and the drinks came out very haphazardly in the middle of the meal, one at a time - but everything was very good once it got there. Setting was generally very romantic. Two women with children at a large table raised the noise level considerably. Would have been nice to plan to keep it to adults on valentines. I was pretty happy with the price for the meal and experience we got. It was our first valentines together and it was a good one. Overall, some rough edges to clean up for a really great experience, but I enjoyed going here and it was more intimate than a crowded venue you might get otherwise, with only about a dozen couples served.
We have only visited once for a dinner on a Friday night. They have a small dinning room in the back that is intimate and well decorated. This is healthy cruelty free food that tastes amazing!! It's 100% worth checking out. We can't wait to visit again, maybe brunch? :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We showed up a bit early and I had to ask if they were able to accommodate the menu around my pepper allergy; they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We recommend trying the restaurant you won't be disappointed!
