Made reservation, got a call from the restaurant the next day saying they were going to be closed that day because they didn't have enough help to staff the restaurant.

I must say that I picked Prudomme's because I was there before for lunch and the food was good and different. That still applies but I was unimpressed this time for dinner. The menu was varied and cajun which I like. I ordered the Mac and Cheese with lobster - it was ok - but very dry - not much sauce. Big chunks of lobster.

So this time was ok - but not as good as I remembered.

We ate at The Lost Cajun Kitchen Memorial Day weekend 2016. We started with a Cajun Whoopie Pie, which in the case consisted of a crab cake between two corn muffin disks. It came with a terrific herb dipping sauce and we both loved it. My partner then had the bucket of crawfish and I had the crab-stuffed sole. Both dishes were authentically made and very flavorful. The portions were generous for the price. The chef is Paul Prudhomme's brother, so he got the real recipes for sure! The building is a former speakeasy with all the secret bells and a cool vibe.

A group of eleven "foodie" friends, most from out of town, were delighted with our "Lost Cajun Kitchen" experience. The service was very good, the food was fantastic, and we all had a wonderful time. As far as I know this is the only authentic Cajun restaurant in the region, and it is not to be missed.

You wouldn't know it was just the Mighty Susquehanna just down the street, and not the other Mighty River - the Mississippi... by the quality and variety of the Naw'lins food. There wasn't an appetizer or entree we didn't want to try, so we'll have to come back again and again to sample them all. But BIG BUBBA’S COMBO is going to be hard to ignore (and share) in any future meal.

If you're looking for genuine New Orleans Cajun cooking in York or Lancaster this is the place. We got a special they were doing for two and the amount of food was just right. The salad was small but the Big Bubba Seafood Combo entree made up for it. The atmosphere, and music on the night we went, would appeal to an older crowd but since it was our first time there can't say that this is the norm.

A gem. Nice "neighborhood" or "corner restaurant" feel with a wonderful menu at a reasonable. The food tastes like it has been seasoned for hours, not ten minutes. And the wait staff was both competent and friendly without being overbearing. Can't wait to go back even though it was a 45 minute drive.

Prudhomme's is a fun place to go if you're looking for something a little different. We've been going here off and on over the years. It was not crowded (Sat. night) like I thought used to be. Maybe it's not "the" place to go anymore?? Food was okay - I had mac and cheese and felt like it was a glammed up box mix, however the shrimp I had on top was very good. It's a nice place to go with friends if you want a relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent!

This place is great if you are looking to try something new and different. The delicious creole cuisine is very similar to many of the great restaurants I visited while in New Orleans. Our family favorite is the alligator. Must try!

We went between lunch and dinner so it was quiet. Very nice staff, interesting menu. We have had cajun elsewhere, this was the best, most authentic of anywhere we have tried. The ambience was fun and it is in a great old building that we hear is haunted!

My wife and I came for dinner and really enjoyed the food. We had been dying for some Cajun cooking since moving to the area. We loved our drinks and the entrees were great. My wife raved about the Hush Puppies, and she doesn't rave about anything. All in all, a great meal. They even had some live music the night we came and the musicians they had were very talented.

Nice and slow paced didn't feel rushed at all. Great server We will be back to try some of the other dishes lots to choose from.

Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Service wasn't that great. And they wouldn't honor our Double Take because we ordered the wing special, so we had to pay full price for that, then they took the savings off! I wouldn't make it a point to go back. Kind of expensive, and band was way too loud!!

The gator was good, as was the pasta. My husband had catfish that he enjoyed. We both thought it was rather warm in the dinning room. That would be OK in the winter, but it was a bit much for May.

We experienced a sad decline in the quality of ingredients and preparation compared to previous visits. Crab, frog legs and alligator were all poor quality to which bad preparation added insult to injury. Worse was lack of authenticity -- what was supposed to be crawfish etouffee was more like a quick Italian red gravy: sauteed tomatoes, onions and peppers -- with no hint of the dark nutty body that should have been provided by a slowly-prepared roux -- topped by a few very scrawny tails. A very disappointing visit that we hope was just an off-night for the kitchen.

Prudhomme's never disappoints! The food is delicious. No matter what you order- it is prepared fresh and seasoned perfectly. Their duck is especially special- the best ever tasted. Not a bit fatty. The service is attentive and the servers are knowledgable. The magician was there and he was very entertaining.

We went for the Friday night karaoke but now will go back any day for the food! Everything from the hush puppies to the crawfish was done right and with spice--not hot just tasty! A true NOLA/Cajun restaurant in South-Central PA for some reason--but it is to our advantage! The absolute best catfish I have ever had. Blackened, not breaded, filets were thick, moist, and flaky makes other catfish look like fish sticks (LOL). A very casual restaurant with a bar but the food is far from plain and ordinary!!

Ate there for dinner on a Saturday night. Setting is a bar/restaurant combination. Live music was available but it was loud; we were seated at a table in the bar so we could hold a conversation but in the dining room conversation would have been very difficult(music was in the dining room and was very good, just volume was too high). Food was excellent. Crab stuffed onion appetizer was very good. Seafood platter was combination of blackened catfish, hush puppies, clam strips, and shrimp/crawfish creole with some jambalaya. Seasoning was very good; not overly done. Food tasted fresh - even the clam strips. Nice N'awlins cooking for midstate PA.

Pennsylvania Dutch Country has not been a Mecca for those craving vibrant flavors and authentic cuisines from exotic places, in my experience, so my visit to Prudhomme's was a huge departure from the norm. My boyfriend (family roots in New Orleans), my parents and I visited Prudhomme's last week. The comfortably funky decor created a relaxed atmosphere where we were greeted by and chatted easily with both owners. Our only dilemma was deciding which of the tantatlizing menu items we were going to be able to try in one sitting. We sampled New Orleans staples like Jambalaya, Gumbo, blackened shrimp, and po'boys, and intriguing things like Cajun Whoopie Pies and crab stuffed onion rings. We left, completely satiated and planning our next visit.
