First time didn’t disappoint. Everyone ordered a different entree. All enjoyed. Particular favorite - shrimp and grits and pumpkin bread pudding. Loved the vanilla ice cream made with buttermilk.
Wonderful restaurant. My wife used to work for Tyler, the owner, in Ketchum Idaho at Dashi. Delicious food, if we lived closer, we would frequent often.
Decent meal. Not as good as previous visits.
Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic!!
The Sunday Brunch at Provisions is my new favorite brunch in town. It's top notch and delicious. The French Toast was amazing.
First timers, it was excellent. Well crafted and we will be back !
We were celebrating our daughter's birthday. Everything was perfect. The menu was creative and delicious. Everything from the small plates to the main course and deserts didn't disappoint. Don't hesitate to try out Provisions.
Food is amazing and creative, a lot of talent in that kitchen!
We are coming back!! I forgot about Provisions until 4 weeks ago. Just finished my fourth time!
After dining many times at Provisions I have to say what impresses me most is the cleanliness. The new weekly changing menu has been great, what a treat to go into your favorite restaurant every week and find a new dish to obsess over until next time.
Tyler Stokes continues to impress with his creative take on American Cuisine. Comfortable, casual atmosphere and great service never disappoints.
The food and ambiance was so good that we returned the next night. All food prepared exquisitely, although a little heavy on salt.
Great food, but have a serious fly problem. Dead flies on the window sills, number of flies flying around while trying to eat dinner
Excellent service. Staff and waitress Carissa were the best!
The extra effort in communication and service was what pushed my experience here from a 4 to a 5. I indicated it was my husband's and my first wedding anniversary, and they were kind enough to confirm that we drank alcohol before bringing out complimentary champagne!
The food was FABULOUS. A more limited menu, but the quality of the ingredients and execution of each dish was top-notch.
Wife and I were in SLC for business and medical (we live in Torrey) and sought a night out. We dined outdoors. Great service, food, and ambience. We will be back!
Ugh everything was ridiculously delicious. I am so delighted by this meal.
Sunday brunch service: We were seated for 10 mins before I went and asked to see our server for the first time. This was frustrating because they were not busy and there were a good number of employees standing around and casually conversing. The food made it to the table quickly but I asked for ketchup and never got it. I pointed this out to the server and he was pretty nonchalant about his mistake. This is not my first substandard experience at Provisions for brunch. I’d recommend skipping it as a result. Their food and service for dinner has always been excellent and the disparity between the two is a bummer.
Fantastic food and great service. We shared a number of small plates and each on was fantastic - particular standouts were the corn toast (on the special menu, so get it while you can!) and shrimp & grits. Unique Asian spin on several items, including the shrimp & grits. Great cocktails, amazing desserts (we shared the raspberry cobbler and cinnamon beignets). Very attentive wait staff - in particular, we appreciated that they staged the service of the small plates appropriately so our small table for two wasn’t overwhelmed with dishes.
We have been to Provisions three times now, all on special occasions. We love the menu and it's a great location for where we drop our kids off at grandparents house!
This time I was particularly impressed with the seasonal menu item of grilled peaches with mozzarella, prosciutto, and balsamic reduction. Hamachi crudo and steak tartare were on point! We both enjoyed craft cocktails and dessert too. What a lovely dining experience.
Had been there for dinner and loved it. Brunch was fair to mediocre . Disappointed
In my reservation, I noted that one of us had an allergy to wheat, dairy and eggs thinking maybe nothing would come of it, but I'd note it anyway. When we arrived, our server had gone over the whole menu and crossed out all of the items that contained those allergy foods to make it easier on us. They were polite, the ambiance was fantastic and the brazed rabbit was without a doubt the best rabbit I've ever had. Worth every penny spent. We'll be returning for sure.
food never disappoints. Service was very good on this visit.
Not interested in posting a long review, but having had brunch here many, many times, here's how I feel about where the restaurant has gone in the past year:
Service--inconsistent. Better today. Was ignored at the desk for a few minutes before the busser came up to greet us. Hostess did not look at our reservation at all, where we requested the patio and had to ask for it. Manager is off hands, apparently. Busser today was on top of things, and John, our server, was very attentive and polite. Coffee arrived quickly even though drinks took a while.
Ambiance--better. More consistent image through uniforms, dishware, napkins, etc. Excellent aesthetic.
Food--disappointing. Seafood chowder is my go-to, and always delicious regardless of anything else. They didn't have it today, so I tried something new. Nothing was inedible, but everything on the menu used to be mind-blowing. Items now either have slightly too much salt, or not at all, or lackluster flavor. You can almost taste the exhaustion from an overworked kitchen.
It's better to have phenomenal food then it is to have chalk calligraphy and a zen fountain. We'll be back, but Provisions won't necessarily be at the top of our list.
The food was ok. I ordered the polenta with roasted pork and the snow peas. Polenta was good, pork was tasty but nobody bothered to trim the tips and take the string off the snow peas. Truthfully, nothing exceptional. I expected better food.
One of the best restaurants in Salt Lake City. As must for anyone that loves good food and great drinks!
The beverages we ordered were a bit too sour, the beef tartare was very salty, and the entrées weren’t worth the price. Maybe it was just a bad night, though. They comped us a couple of our orders that weren’t good.
The food was good, but our server was extremely inattentive which detracted significantly from our experience
The food is good and interesting. A bit pricey for the quality but not unreasonable. Pleasant dining environment. They have good spaces form moderate sized groups.
A lovely surprise. Don’t miss Desert. Can’t wait for a return visit
The food was very good; locally sourced and creative. The music was loud and without tablecloths or placemats, it was a casual and noisy place. If you love ice water, forgetaboutit. The large plates were not large and the complimentary greeting appetizer was one olive each. A small salad should be included with a large plate.
Once again Provisions does an excellent job both in the variety of small plates and specials they have but also importantly in the consistency of good service they always provide. Given that many restaurants in the city have gone down in quality and service, it is nice to have a place that maintains its standards
The weather was not cooperating, we wanted to have an outdoor experience but at 98, that wasn't going to happen. Changing the res at the last minute was easy and while it would have been on the warm side, the patio looks wonderful and the ambiance would have been lovely. We opted to share all of our plates; beet salad with pickled strawberries, hamachi kama and grilled cauliflower with pink peppercorn and roasted peanuts. Each was filled with deep flavors and wonderful textures. The wait staff was awesome! We didn't realize how late it was and closed the place on a Tuesday night. They were delightful and sure to make us want to come back. And don't forget the olives -- OMG, delish!
I liked the food and the waiter was nice, but seemed like he was spread a little thin as we didn't see him as often as I'd like.
I got the rabbit papardelle which was delicious.
Provisions offers innovative dishes of locally sourced fresh ingredients. And they are quite successful. The two of us shared an heirloom tomato salad composed of two kinds of red and a handful of halved yellow grape tomatoes. Their tangy sweetness was brought out by garnishes of crumbled blue cheese, house made coarsely grated mozzarella, balsamic reduction, olive oil and a side of Malden sea salt for sprinkling.
Shrimp and grits were flavored with truffle oil, a touch of ginger and hoisin and thin red onion half rings and sliced scallions. Grits were creamy in texture and shrimp were crunchy and flavorful.
Hand-chopped steak tartare featured the textures and tastes of soy, mint, chili, smoked egg cream, toasted sunflower seeds and thin radish slices served with seeded toast. It is a successful take on a classic thanks to the quality ingredients. Provisions is not inexpensive but well worth the price and your time.
Food was spectacular and service was awesome. We had a wonderful dinner.
We were there for brunch and liked the menu options but did feel the food was too small of proportions. The provisions breakfast seemed like maybe one egg scrambled. The food tasted great and great service.
Great restaurant in a quiet area of SLC. Loved the cocktails and small plates - we had the short ribs, tomato salad and roasted corn and all were delicious. My wife had “Mary’s Chicken” and it was tender, juicy and packed with amazing flavor. I shy away from chicken when eating out, but I would return to Provisions for the Mary’s Chicken!
Some well thought out food with some poor choices. Started with complimentary olives in african spices. Plain olives would have been better. Then got served room temp water. That's just dumb. No soda on tap. Also dumb.
We then got a grilled peach dish with mozarella and prosciutto. It was fantastic but at $14 dollars it was just too small! Very well done and delicious, though.
I then had a salmon dish with snap peas over polenta. It was delicious and the chef nailed the polenta, but for $35 I have to admit I left a bit hungry. My friend had fried chicken he really liked with an interesting watermelon salad.
While the food was creative and well executed, with a tip I spent over $100 dollars and felt like maybe I needed to pick up a hamburger on the way home.
Perhaps I'd switch to a house made bread appetizer instead of the kinda gross olives. Bread has to be at least as cheap as olives and your guests with big appetites could leave satisfied.
Service was fun and friendly and ambiance, while on the hipster side, was fine.
I'd return because the food was good, but I can't see myself becoming a regular due to the shortcomings I see.
