I met an old friend in town for dinner. I just love knowing that Provisions is a great go-to restaurant, never disappoints! Thank you Chase for the goodie...which was amazing and Tyler for the fabulous food.
Not worth what you pay. I've come here for just desserts before, and I think I will keep to that if I decide to give it another shot. This was my first time trying it for dinner, and we were left unsatisfied. We went with the server's recommendations and were still disappointed. Everything tasted the same: rich, heavy, and one-note, flavor-wise. The restaurant has beautiful ambiance and the service is phenomenal, but the food just isn't worth coming back for in my opinion.
Everything could not have been more amazing! Possibly best meal I've had in Salt lake
Jarred and Kacie are excellent waiter/waitress!
The Patio at Provisions is one of the nicest in the valley and we had a lovely quiet meal there-the specials were delicious and the food overall keeps getting better and better. A great place to dine.
This was our second visit to Provisions and once again it was a perfect experience. Everything about this restaurant is fantastic - the staff is incredibly accommodating, knowledgeable, and quick, the food is absolutely incredible, and the atmosphere is elegant, but not pretentious. We will definitely be going back for a third time in the near future!
Food was excellent, creative and tasty; service was atrocious - slow, inattentive and indifferent. We were a larger group of 10 so expect things to take a little longer but restaurant was not crowded and we got there early and we spent 2.75 hours there. Had to ask for service once and no one came around to check on things. Water was room temp and no ice on an evening when it was in the upper 80's outside ( we were on the"patio"). Also did not inform anyone that the special ribeye for 2 was $105! Would not recommend this restaurant to friends.
We used to like Provisiom a lot. Unfortunately they scaled down the menu. Now there is a limited choices of food. The portion of food is smaller compared to the price they charge. Not sure we will visit this restaurant in the future as often as we used to.
Server was very polite and knowledgeable. Food and wine were fantastic! I would eat here every day if I could afford it!
Fun night on the patio
Great! Service and food were 5 star! The host was our fav. Made us feel at home immediately and recommended some fab champagne to start out our night.
Interesting menu and some tasty dishes. We only ordered small plates. Had the hamachi, mixed green salad, roasted beets, and grilled shrimp. Shrimp and beets were great. Salad and hamachi were good but not great. Also had the Elder 57 cocktail and really enjoyed it. The star of the dinner was the chocolate cake. It was amazing. Ate on the patio which was fine because the weather was beautiful. We initially went inside but it was very musty smelling. Service was fast and efficient.although a little lacking in personality.
I made a reservation through Open Table for 1:30. I arrived and was told, "no reservation existed, because they do not accept reservations through OT.".... and, we would also have to wait until 2:30 to be seated. I waited because my out of town guest decided to. Fortunately, we only waited 20 minutes, before being seated. As far as the food, I wasn't impressed but good atmosphere. Transparency, I gave Provisions high marks because we didn't have to wait as long as we expected.
Question? Open Table, why did this happen?
Always enjoy having a meal at Provisions, it is a favorite brunch spot.
The food here is consistently outstanding, this is one of the tastiest restaurants in town. I would eat here once a week if I could. The only criticism is the service which was a little over the top. We were asked how we were doing by too many people (maybe 5) and we were trying to actually have a conversation, so it was quite irritating. Plus the cocktails were a little 'meh' for the price, but the food is top notch and worth suffering through these minor irritations.
My husband and I were there with another couple to celebrate my birthday (a bid one). They only had one 1/2 bottle of champagne which we purchase and none left after that????. The guys ordered the special old fashioned drink which came with the largest ice cube ever seen.
the waiter when he took the drinks order told us about the one special of the day and when we placed our food order, they had ran out and we were there early, really the special did not even make 7:00PM?????
my girlfriend and I ordered each a glass of white wine and mine came right away while hers came after she finished her dinner???
I think the restaurant does not have enough help to handle their success.
We did love the food including the dessert but ran out of champagne and of the special dish is not acceptable.
The place is lovely and they have an outdoor patio which is nice. I will return to see if service has improved.
there is always Current Fish and Oyster.
We will not return.
This gourmet treasure in the most unusual location should not be missed. I was concerned there were not many people there; it feels like a treasure trove slipping through the fingers as not many people are taking advantage of it. Each dish was absolutely delicious, thoughtfully and creatively prepared and presented; the full spectrum of palate experience is present in an evening's meal. This is a delight. Just go.
Found a piece of long dark hair in my food three bites in. Our server mumbled a sorry as he quickly grabbed the plate and took off. I had to yell after him not to replace the meal. He did not come back till we called him to bring the check. However, my colleagues enjoyed their halibut meals.
We paid and got up to leave after deciding to have dessert somewhere else some 30 minutes later and a gentleman who we presumed to be the manager came and apologized for the hair and said he was coming to offer us some dessert. We were already towards the door and declined since my colleagues had finished their meals, we had paid our bill and had already got up and were walking out the door...we did not feel any sincerity for him and much less from our server.
Had an amazing brunch here! Great service, creative, delicious menu! Drinks were lovely.
We loved eating at Provisionsz the Congee was one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. Our server was really awesome and knowledgeable about the food and everything we tried was delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
The food and service were top notch. The noise level at our table was at a level that it was hard to carry on conversations around a square table, and the restaurant was less than half full. They need acoustic counseling.
Very diverse and eclectic menu, well paired combinations of flavors that blend delightfully on the palette.
Food was delicious - detailed in the prep and execution.
Food was really good. Waiter spilled my entire mimosa on me and my table. We had to move tables. I feel like when that happens they should at least compensate in some way. They didn't he was slow. Outside is excellent, food was good. Services could be better. He might have been new.
**update: the chef and the owner both called to apologize. they were beyond hospitable in every way and have fixed the issue. more than i could have asked for.
We found Provisions last minute when the restaurant we planned to eat at had a long wait and we had movie tickets. Wonderful find! Our food was delicious and they had everything out quickly because they knew we had a movie to go to. My husband had the pork breakfast and I had the monte Cristo. The only problem was that they don’t have a kids menu. My 2 kids split the French toast and they really enjoyed it.
We have enjoyed many excellent meals at provisions. Especially fantastic is menu updates and changes for each season. The staff is friendly and we receive our food in a timely manner. There are a lot of truly healthy options to choose from that are well thought out and prepared. Excellent.
Provisions turned out to be the best meal I've had in years!! From the mushroom sticky buns, and crispy cauliflower, with Hoisin sauce.. to Currey Halibut, and Rhubarb Salmon, and then for dessert - Flourless Chocolate cake with coconut ice cream, mango sorbet.. Don't forget the smokey Margurita!!! Excellent!!! We sat on the patio, and loved every minute.
Provisions is probably my new favorite in SLC - I've come at least once a week lately! From brunch to dinner, it seems impossible to be disappointed. The menu and ingredients are unique, the finesse of the kitchen staff is palpable, servers have absolutely mastered the art of attentiveness and breathing room, and the mixologist is a mastermind. Absolutely love this spot.
Service was great. Recommendation were outstanding. Enjoyed everything. Was just s little loud but very do able since most places are louder.
My wife and I have eaten at Provisions several times. While it is sometimes difficult to get a stimulating vegetarian meal I've been fairly fortunate on previous visits. Our meals on 5/25 were a mixed bag: My wife's halibut was amazing while my lemon pappardelle was very bland and nondescript. In terms of cocktails, my gin and tonic was more like a tonic and gin. The ambiance was not favorable for intimate conversation as we had to speak loudly due to the high volume level of the music. Many restaurants just don't get it in terms of noise management; when acoustics are poor and music is played loudly those with hearings aids may feel excluded from conversation as all sound is amplified - while my wife nor I have hearing aids we work with individuals and thus understand their challenges. We will return to Provisions but perhaps on a weekday night so we can enjoy each other's conversation...it's one of my wife's favorite places.
Not many people on a Friday night. Overall it was fair.
This was our third time at Provisions in the past 10 days! Yes, it really is that good.
The food is incredible! Seriously if we were in any other large city you would be paying 2 or 3 times as much for food like this. As amazing as the food was our favorite part of our experience was watching how well the staff worked together. Everyone from the host, manager, chef and server were all working in unison and having fun doing it! You can always tell a good restaurant by how happy the staff is and Provisions nails that perfectly.
This is my second time here and this time we had brunch. It is a foodie menu with a Southern flair featuring fried chicken and waffles and Biscuits with a number of items. I was really impressed with dinner on my first visit but brunch didn't win me over. I have high expectations for brunch because I love it and because it needs to feel decadent otherwise it is just breakfast. The food was good, but not decadent. The menu items weren't really over the top and the plates were still in the smaller sizing. I can't eat it all but I still love a crazy breakfast feast. BTW, the drink menu is tasty but it will cost you.
Everything but the wait time was great. The only problem was the wait time. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time, but had to wait another 20-25 minutes before being seated. We have been here many times before and would recommend this restaurant to others.
We had a lovely Mother's Day brunch at Provisions. The food was good, as was the service. We'll definitely be back!
Excellent service, ambience and food!
Wonderful food and wait staff!
Best service staff and food in Salt Lake! Will be returning soon.
