I was pleasantly surprised at the interesting items on the menu. The watermelon salad was very good. I also loved my specialty bourbon cocktail. Was great for an early biz dinner and close to the Convention Center.
Had to remind server about bringing bread. Steak was over done and tough.
All the appetizers and the watermelon salad are really good. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful. We told her that we don't like grits and she figured out a solution for us to still be able to have what we wanted even though that meant altering the dish quite a bit. The calliflower bites are delicious as well we ordered them twice. Great experience all in all.
Valet parking made it very easy. Very nice setting. Enjoyed a table on the patio. The scallops were amazing as well as the filet. Everything had great flavor and perfect balance.
The outside patio was perfect. The food and service were superb. Great location near the Ban Buren so we could walk. We will be back.
We ended up having dinner at the bar. Bartender service very average (dispensed me a draft that had two inches of foam and didn’t tell us about the dinner specials). Food is good, but nothing special.
Everything was great except the took an unusually long time to get our main course. Especially since we were basically the only customers there.
Valet parking service was excellent. Very easy and friendly service.
They opened the door. It had been raining all day. We had ordered coffee but were too cold to stay
Great place for business meeting. The whole staff from the valet to receptionist to waitstaff are all friendly and efficient
This restaurant is fine. There is nothing exceptional, but nothing wrong with it. I did find the staff to be friendly.
Province continues to be our go-to spot for a really good, upscale dinner before a downtown event. The menu is really quite imaginative, the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced where possible, and the service is friendly, professional, and dignified. It has a good selection of beers, wine, and craft cocktails. We are generally there early, like 5:30, before a concert or a play, on the weekends, and the noise level is quite manageable, compared to others where you have to shout to be heard. Since it is a business hotel restaurant (the upscale Westin), I suspect it's a bit busier during the week. It is definitely worth a visit.
Nice relaxing ambience and modern decor. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious creative food. Good downtown position with attractive free valet parking for 3 hours
Great place to eat. Swordfish dish was fantastic. Our server was also great.
We came because they were participating in Phoenix Restaurant Week. They provided an interesting menu for the set price and were very generous with their portions. Interesting, local prepared foods with great service.
Had an enjoyable evening
Filet was perfectly cooked! The wife loved the trout. Appetizers were spot on. Best part of the dinner was Elijah, our waiter. He was personable, joked back with us when appropriate, and provided great service. Great place for fine dining before a downtown Phoenix event.
We stopped in for dinner before a concert at celebrity Theatre. My friends never been here before so I thought I would give them something new. We all three had something different on the menu and each one was fantastic! Also my friend Scott found a drink on the specialize drink menu that was out of this world. Hope to go back sometime soon. If you’re in the downtown area I would definitely recommend stopping in and saying hi.
Good food in a nice ambient. Luckily one of the very few places in town where they keep the air con at a decent 70 (you do not have to ask for a blanket in the middle of your meal). A place to try for sure, surprised it wasn’t more crowded o n a Friday night.
Located inside the Westin downtown hotel. Great food and service! Worth a stop.
From door to door one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Arizona. The food, drinks, service and ambiance were all phenomenal.
A nice place with good food. The service is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of the menu. They maintain a casual atmosphere which is very nice but you do need to be prepared for the occasional dripping hotel guest grabbing a drink at the bar to take back to the pool, lol.
First off, the food is amazing. We had the swordfish cakes, watermelon salad, scallops and the fillet. All were excellent. Our server was extremely pleasant. The curious thing is that the staff are all dressed in t-shirts and jeans. For a restaurant with $30+ entrees we were surprised. The only other item I would mention is that the decor seems a bit dated and there were ceiling lights that had non working bulbs.
But, the food is great and very much worth the trip downtown to experience.
Most impressive part of our experience was the attentive staff. Started with Adrian who made sure we had water right away and welcomed us promptly. Raquel then made some suggestions on beverages and they were perfect - the strawberry-pistachio soda my son had was incredible. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly. Gladys checked on us and even entertained my son - he has special needs and all three took time to make his time there incredibly memorable. The service alone was reason to come back, and is what makes a hotel restaurant become a destination, which Province is.
I have to commend the staff and management at Province Urban Kitchen & Bar. I originally reserved for a table of 10 for a business meeting during a conference in Phoenix last week. Word got around and more and more people were adding themselves to the dinner, and I ended up changing the reservation twice: first to 15, then to 30+! The staff was so great--when I changed it to 30+, they told me they would call me back. Within an hour (just a couple of hours before the planned dinner, BTW), they called me back and said that they had worked with the chef to plan out a menu just for our group with a salad, entrée (with chicken, beef, fish, and veg options), and dessert based on what ingredients they had on hand and could feel confident in upholding their quality standards for such a large group. They printed specific menus for our group and gave us an entire section of their restaurant. The food was EXCELLENT, and many people in my group mentioned how good the food was. I wouldn't have changed a thing about how our dinner turned out. 5 stars all the way!
The food was absolutely delicious, which is why we’ll be back! But the service was so, so, slow. We sat there and looked at our drinks melting away at the bar for 10 minutes, our waiter disappeared for large chunks of the time and rarely checked back. The food being awesome was a save but don’t go if you’re trying to catch a movie or something afterward.
Our server, Shamit, was terrific and the valet service was a real plus - we left our car there while we went to the Talking Stick Resort Arena. We shall do this again and have already recommended to several friends.
This is a great restaurant whenever you are in downtown Phoenix. It is quiet - a hard to find quality these days! While the menu is rather small, all 4 of us enjoyed our dinners. The sea bass was especially tasty. The service has always been top-notch; the waitstaff is quite knowledgeable and very eager to assist in making food selections. Provence is a great choice when you want a quiet relaxing dinner.
Food was excellent, but took a long time. We were there almost two hours and the place was empty. We waited over 30 minutes for our dessert and ultimately had to leave without it because we would have been late for our show. The waitress disappeared for over 25 minutes then told us that "food is prepared in the order it is submitted to the kitchen" as an explanation for why our dessert took so long - it was a pre-ordered three course meal, with only two dessert choices! And as mentioned, it was empty !
Attentive service in a refined atmosphere. The dishes were beautifully plated and equally delicious. The offering of sparkling or still water with more than the traditional lemon set the tone for our meal. I would bring business partners or romantic ones here in a heartbeat. The quiet atmosphere made conversation easy and the modern decor including windows open to a patio made this a nice retreat from the typical urban look.
Took an hour and 15 minutes to get entrées
Excellent restaurant! The entrees that everyone in my party ordered were delicious. I ordered the filet and it was PERFECT!! Cooked just the way I wanted it, tender and succulent with outstanding flavors. Also healthy! It was on a cake of cauliflower. We all started out with the fondue made with beer. It was delicious, great bread to dip and wonderful for sharing. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation!
Food was delicious! Service a little slow. Great outdoor setting.
I enjoyed myself, I really did, my 27Th birthday 😊. Nobody came but I had a great time😊😊 I felt really special. Really great restaurant ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Thank you for having me.
Absolutely delicious. Chef Garcia married all ingredients perfectly. Would definitely do again
The food is tasty and healthy. The service was especially efficient on this visit.
We went to Province for Easter brunch, and we definitely want to pass along our compliments to the chef. The food was outstanding, and it was nice to see the chef involved with the buffet (often you go places where the chef just directs from the kitchen and is not invested with what is going on out in the dining area). We were impressed with many of the dishes, and we had an amazing time.
The food was great. Portions are small so you will want to order a salad or something. We had our own salads, entrees and shared a dessert and I did not feel stuffed. I'm a small woman. The service was a bit slow but we were in no rush. Some noise from the nearby roads but not so disruptive that it affected conversation.
The food and drinks were amazing. The flavors were bold, but not overwhelming, and perfectly balanced. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The service was also very good - the staff was knowledgeable, gracious, and attentive. Overall great experience.
We had a truly memorable meal at Province. Half our group ordered scallops and the other half ordered the petite filet. Both entrees were done to perfection. The starter salads were quite good. The service was friendly and responsive, maybe a little ragged around the edges, but really helpful, courteous and friendly all the same. This is a great choice for an early dinner before the opera, ballet, symphony, theatre, etc. The room itself is not terribly appealing - the hip, sleek vibe I suspect they're going for comes off as a little bit cold, austere, and uninteresting, but it's one of the best high-end restaurants downtown.
Had a business lunch at Province and glad we booked early because the restaurant filled up fast. Ordered the "Throwback Thursday" special sandwich - fried chicken on ciabotta with a jalapeno-cilantro slaw. It was the best chicken sandwich I have ever had.
One of my dining partners ordered the Sonoroan chicken salad which also looked good.
Service was good and the food was outstanding.
