Providence Oyster Bar
Hannah was great, very sweet with exceptional service. Food was delicious but the cioppino was not as good as it was last time.
We were visiting from NYC, and wanted authentic Rhode Island fare. We were not disappointed! Fish and Chips were my favorite - so fresh, so clean. The ckam chowder, I practically inhaled it. The oysters were dope, and our server was on point! If we return to Providence we will definitely dine at Providence Oyster Bar.
Parents anniversary, restaurant did not celebrate it even though we open table about the event
Service was excellent without being intrusive. Several servers shared responsibility for the tables which led to never needing water or having dirty dishes sitting in front of us. The food was perfect - from soup, thru dinner ( swordfish and halibut), and Creme brûlée for dessert. We particularly appreciated being told up front that any choices that differed from the menu would gladly be addressed.
Fantastic food, attentive and excellent service. Exceeded expectations! We will definitely return.
No lobster in the lobster bisque soup. Swordfish was overcooked. They were out of Chilean sea bass.
Nice restaurant, good menu, and Layla was amazing BUT they cooked my MR filet to MW. They quickly saw and ordered a replacement which took 20 MINUTES to deliver and was RAW and cold in the middle.
Then they charged us for the $46 meal, something that I had less than ONE bite of. I don’t live there but I will never be back when in providence again.
Lobster Mac and cheese is the best!
Great Ferrari-Carano Chardonnay By the glass! Everything was fantastic- was very impressed.
Celebrating a birthday on a Monday night, so restaurant not too busy or noisy. Started with shrimp cocktail (5) and glasses of Proseco. Clams and linguini never disappoints and full of legal-sized clams! Seared scallops over the most delicious Israeli couscous prepared with 4 good-sized diver scallops, also delicious. Sorbet dessert complete with a birthday candle, but not on the house! Finished with yummy cappuccinos.
Service was outstanding. The dinner and appetizers were right sized and delicious. Dessert was a little disappointing. will definitely return
It was nice
Apps and dinner was delicious and fresh. Great drinks. My favorite dinner in a Providence that week. A notch above the rest. The food and service. Can’t wait to come back!
Being from Florida we are definitely seafood eaters. We read great reviews from a few sites and decided to give it a try. Everything was wonderful from the food to service. My daughter had the different oysters and said they were the best she ever ate. My wife and I had lobster and fish which was incredible also. Highly recommend this place
I took my BF to celebrate her 65th birthday. Jordan, our waiter, was outstanding in his knowledge and efficiency. The meal was beyond reproach.
Well worth the cost!
Every time we go there for dinner there service sucks and there food is really good just need to pay more attention with there customers
The food was delicious and the service was great! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
The food was excellent but the service was terrible. It seemed like the waitress was in a bad mood. We had to serve our own appetizer plates and stuff like that and no one acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating, which I mentioned on this app ahead of time. Definitely not an ideal place for a celebration, but for a regular night, the food was great.
This is a must if you are looking for a great place to eat on Federal Hill! Every table is private enough for romance or just talking amongst friends! Service is great and staff is always friendly! The food is fresh and tasty!!
Drove to RI to have good seafood. Omg. The food was so delicious
Always enjoy the night out at POB
One of my favorite places to eat at on our vacation. From the large Bowl of Chowder, pile of mussels, mouth watering sushi, Oysters Rockefeller, to cajun bay scallops....it was fresh and delicious. Never had such large portions during Happy Hour. We will stop here from now on when in town. Thanks to all the staff, they too made it a great night!!
Very fine lunch at the Oyster Bar at noon on a Saturday. It is a little spendy, but here you get what you pay for.
Tasteful oysters and sushi
Jordan, our server was fantastic!
also, if you want to try something amazing,
I asked to mix the manhattan clam chowder with New England
and it was amazing!! try it Jordan will allow it! and the mango sorbet/
order : Mangato!
I came here with a coworker while on a business trip and had a great experience. The full lobster was delicious! Great service and atmosphere - love the vibe in Federal Hill.
Excellent find and would definitely recommend!
The food is fresh and delicious. Friendly and attentive staff. A real gem. Will definitely return.
Good food; not too loud atmosphere.
The hostess was friendly, .... the server had a robotic attitude, and food was greasy and lacking of flavor. In fact, that fries although were made in house, their quality was poor.
My husband loved the oysters so much he ate one dozen, then ordered 6 more! We appreciate the high quality of the food and the service. And you can’t go wrong with a mojito!
It was fine
Nice room cool ambience
Lobster bisque, salad and entrees were good, but I don’t see how it’s rated the number 1 Seafood restaurant in Providence out of 26 on Trip Advisor.
Ate here before a concert at the nearby Columbus Theatre. Incredible food and service made for a memorable dinner! Had oysters to start, and they were so good I ordered a few more. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I had two sushi rolls (Mexican and spicy salmon), which were fantastic with just the right amount of kick. The garden salad I got as a "side" was huge. My wife had the Cod dish, and she is still raving about the sauce. The tiramisu for dessert (a birthday treat) was melt-in-your-mouth good. We'll definitely be back.
great food & awesome service... mains can get a bit pricey... salads & apps are perfect splitting size
Sea bass dish was amazing, cool atmosphere and always consistent
We just tried two lunch items--the Oysters Rockefeller which were disappointing with an oyster buried in a mound of chopped spinach. On the other hand, the fired oysters were a home run--perfectly fried with little batter and an above average portion.
Everything went well. Good service, food, and atmosphere.
Meals were visually appealing and tasty but the service was out of sync - oysters came out after the entree..
Disappointing. The fresh oysters and calamari appetizer were very good. Good cocktails and wine selection. Service was good. Caesar salad had little dressing, tasteless. Swordfish and salmon were dry, overcooked, despite server asking how we wanted the salmon cooked. Oysters Rockefeller were also dry, overcooked. Fried oysters were okay, but served with a mass of overcooked, greasy fries. A manager did ask whether we wanted our main dishes replaced.
