Providence Oyster Bar
Fun interior reminiscent of an old steak/seafood club. Very clean. Service was polite and friendly; a little slow getting out the first course. Beet salad, clams & beans, and chowder were all delicious. Lobster scramble was overcooked and the accompanying toast was very dry.
Food was good excellent, small table but I knew since the place is small and intimate. Valet kids are great! The waitress was terrible, slow, inattentive until the last minute of our dining experience. Water boys were on point since it took forever to get a drink from waitress.
Old school elegance what should expect on the hill. Great food and service. Will definitely add it to our regular list.
Nice location, good ambiance and delicious food. Great for any occasion
Great menu choices. The menu was both seafood and land choices.
Love the music selections - each time I am there it is just the right volume. Food was outstanding as always - lobster bisque followed by scallops. Highly recommend.
First time for dinner - LOVED it! Great menu; super attentive, friendly service. The food was fantastic, but most importantly, the oysters were amazing! Fresh, firm, tasty. Will definitely go back - for happy hour and oysters at the bar next time.
amazing service and such fresh fish! I will definitely be coming back!!
Wonderful bowl of clam chowder! I am coming back.
An amazing overall experience. My go to time and time again! Whenever I know I want exceptional food and service, I always plan a visit to POB.
Amazing food and service as always-will be back again and again!
Went during restaurant week and it was awesome
Excellent waiter, food and drinks!
Went here for Restaurant Week and it was great. Our server did a very good job and our food was hot when served. As busy as it was, our server never made us feel rushed. Looking forward to another visit.
took forever to place our order and even longer to get our food. Not impressed and the fact that it was restaurant week didn't help....very SMALL portions for a large price.
One of our favorites on Federal Hill. Always great specials. Best seafood in Providence. Upscale casual. Restaurant Week Menu was A+.
The food is always so fresh. The combinations are inspiring. Definitely recommend.
food was amazing, service was even better. We we talking about our meal the next day saying how great it was.
The waiter was absolutely knowledgeable of all the chef's specials. The atmosphere is perfect. Very professional. The food is done to perfection....... Someone over there definitely knows what he/she is doing when it comes to making their dishes......
Service at the bar is usually better than at a table however on this night it seemed like the bartender was overwhelmed and the service suffered as a result. Food is always god here and we will be back but dinner on this night was not as good as in past experiences.
Great place, valet parking, great wait staff!
Food and service were excellent, cant wait to return!!
Great place for a date night. It is one of my husband and Is go-to
You would think For an upscale restaurant they would at least pack your take out instead of dropping off boxes to the table to do yourself.
We were celebrating a birthday and there was not much special to write about. Their mussels and Frittes were in a sweet sauce with the French fries on the bottom soggy and Cobb Salad with fresh crab was pricey and nothing special.
Service was great, but the food wasn’t very good.......way too much $$$$$$$ for what you get......
We always enjoy eating here! Food is good, service is great and there’s not a bad table in the room!!!
Food was very good and wine was excellent. Soups were above average but not as good as the rest of the food
We were there for Christmas Eve dinner. My mom had just passed and we were leaving on a plane the next morning to return home to Colorado. Spending Christmas Eve without family in a strange city is tough but our waitress Hannah was so sweet and nice and was just the best! If we’re ever in providence again we will visit for sure!
We love they oyster bar! It’s our go to for great food and service!! We will be back!
Parents in town visiting
Salmon entree with broccoli was ice cold to the touch.
Asked for medium and was raw inside too.
New piece was brought out but wife was already done with meal.
Sever offered a complimentary dessert for our troubles. We were full and declined. Figured the manager who brought the new piece of salmon would have checked in with us again and would at least taken an $8 glass of wine off bill.
Not our best experience at POB.
Not a good selection of oysters for an oyster bar. Our entrees (lobster roll, steamed lobster) took an hour. I ordered my lobster roll cold with mayo...they served it hot with butter. It was the least amount of meat in a lobster roll I've ever had. The fries were pretty good. The steamed lobster was fine. Our server stopped by the table once in the hour we waited for our entree and could have used another round of drinks. As we ate, and didn't need her for anything, she stopped by 3 times. I would not recommend.
Yes but I would tell them to not order the bloody mary. Possibly the worst bloody Mary I have had. Food was awesome tho.
Enjoyed the buck a shuck and appetizers. Great spot to go and just relax. We were at the bar top and it was a little louder than expected but what can you expect. Overall an amazing experience
Service and food were outstanding. Nicole was our sever, and she was terrific. Loved the lobster Benedict, steak and eggs, crab Florentine omelette, and Bloody Marys. Great experience all around!
Jordan is an excellent server!
The Oysters Rockefeller and California Roll were excellent. Service was top notch and the timing between courses was perfect. I highly recommend Providence Oyster Bar and will certainly return when in the area.
The waitress was absolutely Amazing. Wish I had her name. Very friendly and great personality.
Stopped here on our way to the Cape for a late lunch. We wanted to start with some oysters on the half shell and they had a good selection from RI and MA. Very fresh and well presented with a variety of accompaniments. Had a lobster roll for lunch and my wife had a shrimp salad. Both tasty. I had the roll with the lobster warmed in butter. I would say that the amount of lobster was fine but not overly generous. Excellent wine selection. Server Jordan was very friendly and provided great advice about the food. All in all a very pleasurable lunch and we will be back.
Jordan was our waiter and he was very nice and attentive!
