Providence Oyster Bar
The food is always so fresh. The combinations are inspiring. Definitely recommend.
food was amazing, service was even better. We we talking about our meal the next day saying how great it was.
The waiter was absolutely knowledgeable of all the chef's specials. The atmosphere is perfect. Very professional. The food is done to perfection....... Someone over there definitely knows what he/she is doing when it comes to making their dishes......
Service at the bar is usually better than at a table however on this night it seemed like the bartender was overwhelmed and the service suffered as a result. Food is always god here and we will be back but dinner on this night was not as good as in past experiences.
Great place, valet parking, great wait staff!
Food and service were excellent, cant wait to return!!
Great place for a date night. It is one of my husband and Is go-to
You would think For an upscale restaurant they would at least pack your take out instead of dropping off boxes to the table to do yourself.
We were celebrating a birthday and there was not much special to write about. Their mussels and Frittes were in a sweet sauce with the French fries on the bottom soggy and Cobb Salad with fresh crab was pricey and nothing special.
Service was great, but the food wasn’t very good.......way too much $$$$$$$ for what you get......
We always enjoy eating here! Food is good, service is great and there’s not a bad table in the room!!!
Food was very good and wine was excellent. Soups were above average but not as good as the rest of the food
We were there for Christmas Eve dinner. My mom had just passed and we were leaving on a plane the next morning to return home to Colorado. Spending Christmas Eve without family in a strange city is tough but our waitress Hannah was so sweet and nice and was just the best! If we’re ever in providence again we will visit for sure!
We love they oyster bar! It’s our go to for great food and service!! We will be back!
Parents in town visiting
Salmon entree with broccoli was ice cold to the touch.
Asked for medium and was raw inside too.
New piece was brought out but wife was already done with meal.
Sever offered a complimentary dessert for our troubles. We were full and declined. Figured the manager who brought the new piece of salmon would have checked in with us again and would at least taken an $8 glass of wine off bill.
Not our best experience at POB.
Not a good selection of oysters for an oyster bar. Our entrees (lobster roll, steamed lobster) took an hour. I ordered my lobster roll cold with mayo...they served it hot with butter. It was the least amount of meat in a lobster roll I've ever had. The fries were pretty good. The steamed lobster was fine. Our server stopped by the table once in the hour we waited for our entree and could have used another round of drinks. As we ate, and didn't need her for anything, she stopped by 3 times. I would not recommend.
Yes but I would tell them to not order the bloody mary. Possibly the worst bloody Mary I have had. Food was awesome tho.
Enjoyed the buck a shuck and appetizers. Great spot to go and just relax. We were at the bar top and it was a little louder than expected but what can you expect. Overall an amazing experience
Service and food were outstanding. Nicole was our sever, and she was terrific. Loved the lobster Benedict, steak and eggs, crab Florentine omelette, and Bloody Marys. Great experience all around!
Jordan is an excellent server!
The Oysters Rockefeller and California Roll were excellent. Service was top notch and the timing between courses was perfect. I highly recommend Providence Oyster Bar and will certainly return when in the area.
The waitress was absolutely Amazing. Wish I had her name. Very friendly and great personality.
Stopped here on our way to the Cape for a late lunch. We wanted to start with some oysters on the half shell and they had a good selection from RI and MA. Very fresh and well presented with a variety of accompaniments. Had a lobster roll for lunch and my wife had a shrimp salad. Both tasty. I had the roll with the lobster warmed in butter. I would say that the amount of lobster was fine but not overly generous. Excellent wine selection. Server Jordan was very friendly and provided great advice about the food. All in all a very pleasurable lunch and we will be back.
Jordan was our waiter and he was very nice and attentive!
We had high expectations for POB, and it exceeded them! It was perhaps the best meal we had in Providence, and the appetizer of clams with cannelini beans ranks among our most memorable dishes. We even stopped at their airport location (with a more limited menu) before boarding our plane home! Do visit!
From Valet parking which greets you upon arrival to fantastic service (Cory) to the fabulous food and wine selection.
Would always recommend the Providence Oysters Bar
Great experience. Booked a table, but really wanted the Happy Hour apps. Excellent variety, great food well presented, and very attentive and friendly staff. I would give recommendations, but EVERYTHING was great. Sat at the bar near the kitchen, and if you're a "foodie" I highly recommend it.
I don't get to Providence much, but will make this a stop when I'm back.
It’s a bit noisy and pricey and lacks the elegant ambiance of other fine dining establishments but the quality and sheer deliciousness of everything we ate (and drank) are second to none and we can’t wait to go back! Raw and baked oysters were amazing, my tuna and accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection; we planned to just have a bite of the tiramisu and bring the rest home but after the first bite, we couldn’t stop!! The most creamy and awesome tiramisu in the planet!!! I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. You won’t Be disappointed. Even the blue cheese stuffed olive in my martini was exquisite!
Hannah was great, very sweet with exceptional service. Food was delicious but the cioppino was not as good as it was last time.
We were visiting from NYC, and wanted authentic Rhode Island fare. We were not disappointed! Fish and Chips were my favorite - so fresh, so clean. The ckam chowder, I practically inhaled it. The oysters were dope, and our server was on point! If we return to Providence we will definitely dine at Providence Oyster Bar.
Parents anniversary, restaurant did not celebrate it even though we open table about the event
Service was excellent without being intrusive. Several servers shared responsibility for the tables which led to never needing water or having dirty dishes sitting in front of us. The food was perfect - from soup, thru dinner ( swordfish and halibut), and Creme brûlée for dessert. We particularly appreciated being told up front that any choices that differed from the menu would gladly be addressed.
Fantastic food, attentive and excellent service. Exceeded expectations! We will definitely return.
No lobster in the lobster bisque soup. Swordfish was overcooked. They were out of Chilean sea bass.
Nice restaurant, good menu, and Layla was amazing BUT they cooked my MR filet to MW. They quickly saw and ordered a replacement which took 20 MINUTES to deliver and was RAW and cold in the middle.
Then they charged us for the $46 meal, something that I had less than ONE bite of. I don’t live there but I will never be back when in providence again.
Lobster Mac and cheese is the best!
Great Ferrari-Carano Chardonnay By the glass! Everything was fantastic- was very impressed.
Celebrating a birthday on a Monday night, so restaurant not too busy or noisy. Started with shrimp cocktail (5) and glasses of Proseco. Clams and linguini never disappoints and full of legal-sized clams! Seared scallops over the most delicious Israeli couscous prepared with 4 good-sized diver scallops, also delicious. Sorbet dessert complete with a birthday candle, but not on the house! Finished with yummy cappuccinos.
Service was outstanding. The dinner and appetizers were right sized and delicious. Dessert was a little disappointing. will definitely return
It was nice
