From the cheese board we started our evening with to the s’more desert complete with graham cracker ice cream and marshmallows, everything we ate was full of flavor, colorful and so so good. We will definitely be back!
Everything was awesome!
Really good place to go before a show at the Sprint Center.
When you order a drink like a scotch on the rocks, they charged me $8 for the drink and $1.00 for the rocks! Thought that was kind of bad
We enjoyed dinner before a concert. Received excellent service and wonderful food. The Shrimp and Grits were delicious with just the right amount of spice. The Salmon was cooked perfectly and the candied pecans were a highlight according to my dinner companion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! Caution to people with nut allergies- the bread in the basket contains nuts.
Food as great, waiter was great but we were the ONLY customers in the entire place the entire time. Eerily empty. Suggest specials to attract customers.
This place is located in the Hotel President in Downtown KC so the prices are a little higher but typical for the area. The menu is limited but still has a variety of choices for everyone. We had the Ribeye and the Meatloaf entrees which were delicious along with all the vegetable and potato trimmings. The lamb and kale soup starter was also very good. The traditional cocktails from the Drum Lounge were unique and gave a feel for the history of the place.
Was a bit disappointed because due to the NCAA Basketball they were not offering their full menu. But good and dine was good, just wish there was more options
Won't be back. Food was OK, nothing special however Dennis our server was great. Major complaint was the $30 it cost to park in the hotel parking garage just for dinner and then I'm charged for ICE in my drink. That's right....$1 for "on the rocks". Charging for Ice, really Providence? Never again, too many other options where they don't stick you with ridiculously high parking charge and where ice is free.
We enjoyed lunch before the Big 12 finals. At times we were the only people eating in the dining area, so rather quiet. The waitress was very attentive (especially since she served only two tables during our lunch). Overall the ambience was okay and the food we order was very good and priced well.
Host and wait staff were nice, bar staff forgot wine until I was half way through my steak. My wife got her drink within mins. Food was on a limited menu due to events going on downtown, but the place wasn't very busy. Dishes we wanted to try we saw online were not offered when we were there. I ordered my Rib-eye steak Medium Rare. It was more than well done. Baked potato looked amazing, did not taste half as good as it looked. Wife ordered pasta and only took 2 or 3 bites. Was far too oily.
We made the mistake of eating there during the Big 12 tournament. Slow service, abbreviated menu, no valet parking was directed to self park for $40. They should have contacted us with how they were handling things during this time. We were not attending the bb games several blocks away!!!
A hidden gem. I just wish I knew that it was attached to the Drum Room. We could have saved a lot of time and GPSing if we had made the connection. Almost missed our reservation.
We choose Providence - New American Kitchen every time we attend a theatre performance at the Music Hall. It is always very good as far as service and quality of food. This time we were disappointed in the food. We don't know if it had to do with all the additional customers due to the basketball games or what, but the quality was not what it usually is. We don't want to complain, just want to give back constructive feedback. We will difinitely be coming back again. 😊
Fantastic meal and service, highly recommend
Nice homey restaurant in the President Hotel. Waitress was cheerful and knew the menu well. Loved the charcuterie plate with unique flavors. The Patsy was a fun drink!
Perfect as always. Everything is better here. Order and share.
For the price, I was expecting just...more. Not necessarily more food, but more attention to atmosphere, more professionalism (and just...positivity?) with the serving staff. The food was excellent. We experienced some new flavors that were pretty incredible (the salmon was exquisite--the beet hummus was probably the best part of the whole meal--and the pistachio ice cream sandwich was surprisingly good!). Perhaps the restaurant is intended to be experienced as an extension of The Presidential Hotel, which seemed pretty upscale based on our two-minute wait in the lobby while valet brought the car around.
Food took forever then was just “ok”. Meatloaf was very dry. Burger was meh. No plan to return.
Loved the menu selection. Portion sizes were just right. Waitress got us out in time to get to show at Sprint Center
Fantastic bartender at bar area, Toni. Friendly and efficient.
In the President Hotel, the Providence is an incredible restaurant. This is not your normal hotel restaurant!!! It’s really great.
If you need a place to eat before an event downtown it serves the purpose.
Excellent service. Delicious drinks. The food was a little underwhelming taste wise for me. Great portions though.
being in the old historic president hotel, it was perfect for my clients from Norway, and the Drum Room history complimented the evening as well.
Food and service was excellent. Not a big fan of the restaurant decor. Very convenient though. Located in the president hilton where we like to stay.
I was not crazy about their pasta. But the rest of the time there was very enjoyable
We were greeted by friendly staff which continued through out our dinner. The menu selections were broad enough to accommodate everyone. The food was great! The servers were attentive and well informed. We will be back1
Our entire experience from start to finish was top notch and our server Dennis was one of the best servers we've ever had. It was our first time here and it won't be our last.
This was our first time at Providence and we really enjoyed it. Our server Kaylee (sp?) was great. One of us had the soup and pork, the other the kale salad and pasta -- everything was delicious!
Everything was excellent! The food was even better than we expected with new, interesting flavors that worked perfectly. The service was top notch and friendly. We kept talking about how happy we were with the meal for hours after.
I ordered the Chicken something and the meat was Gray and the outside breading was grease filled.
We had the Salmon as a substitute and it came out Super rare... Food was just Meh, Services wasnt knowledgeable, but they accommodates us and were friendly.
Just wasnt impressed.
Just minutes from Music Hall. Great service and food.
Christmas lunch w my kids was awesome, thank you!
We had so much fun and our waiter was wonderful!!
The cocktail service is really slow. Food service slow also. Overall, need to improve service. Food was good and we really liked the salad.
Never been here before and was very happy with the atmosphere and food. Hope to go back sometime. Historic hotel is beautiful.
Great food and outstanding service. Comfort food with a distinctive twist. Convenient when stating at hotel or going to Power and Light.
Loud and brightly lit. Drinks took 25 minutes and came only after a reminder, and after first course. Food on salty side, but staff was friendly and place is energetic. More like a bustling college cafeteria than a sleek hotel restaurant.
Dined before the Bob Seger concert! Excellent service. Wonderful cocktail selection. Enjoyed the "Jackie-O," but will need to come back and try more! The meatloaf was ok. Good flavor, but a little dry. Highly recommend the Pear upside down cake for dessert. You won't be disappointed.
We enjoyed our time there. The food was good. Service was good. Waitress was excellent and we will go back again.
