Provence Marinaside Ratings and Reviews
Had a fantastic time on Valentine's Day at Provence Marinaside.
Staff were professional, courteous and attentive. Food was smaller portions, but excellent and let ft not feeling I would have wanted more...so just perfect.
View into False Creek was exquisite and the soft jazz trio enhanced the nice ambience and overall experience.
Excellent food. I had the bouillabaisse which had perfectly cooked seafood. My husband had the grilled lobster which was also perfect- not dry, not chewy like some other lobster dishes I’ve tried. Great service- very cozy ambiance. Server was very attentive. Will go back!
I was traveling on business and was dining solo. I chose this restaurant because it was well reviewed and had extended the restaurant week tasting menu. It was a bit disappointing. The first course was lovely, although I was surprised how cold the duck roulette was. The entree was tasty, but it wasn’t French. That was probably my mistake for not choosing the only French entree out of several. The cheese course for dessert did not have the proper accompaniments - it was served with toast and olives as though it was an appetizer, rather than fig paste and honey for a dessert. I paid for what I thought was a full wine pairing but it was skimpy. And I had to flag down my waiter any time I needed service - he never asked me how my food was or if I needed anything. I have experienced this before as a solo diner and it’s very insulting. I had very high hopes for this experience and was mostly disappointed, although the food in general was tasty.
Suprised they extended the dine out menu. We had the beef filet and the mushroom ravioli with prawns. The beef was very tender and juicy. The ravioli was perfect too. The only down fall was the prawns. Too salty. Otherwise everything was perfect. Our champagne was excellent too, although it's $29 a glass, but it's from France.
Wonderful restaurant with great food. Great for lunch, dinner or brunch.
The food is wonderful, with a great selection of French and French influenced West Coast dining. Service is always very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. We enjoyed dinner on Wednesday, while listening to wonderful music on the sound system, not too loud, just perfect. Then, the Wednesday night Jazz trio started about 6:30, and the trio was first class, highly skilled musicians,, playing light jazz and popular tunes. And the band was never too loud, but just the right volume. Especially enjoyed the saxophone player.
We had the wine pairing offered with the 3 course dinner, and this was also excellent. Definitely our favourite restaurant in Vancouver.
Good place, good food and good services, very friendly staff. The mussels are so good, juicy and same quality/size of each and every single mussel, you feel them are finely hand picked before sending to your table. Our waiter Michael is very friendly, professional and considerate. Strongly recommend.
We went there for dine out Event and it was AMAZING!!
We had dine out course and petite wine pairing. Even the petite wine that was good amount for me to try out 3 different wines.
We ordered tasting plate and warm goat cheese salad for appies, bouillabaisse and mashroom ravioli for main and chocolate mouse and cream caramel for dessert...
everything was super delicious especially warm goat cheese salad!!! Ummmm... wanna go back and eat again!!
Even though restaurant was busy, food and drinks were served perfect timing and server was very friendly.
Definitely worse for what you pay!
We will be back soon for sure:)
I would have given the food 5 stars as loved the main course (duck) & the dessert (chocolate mousse cake), but I didn't care for the tasting plate appy. Not that it wasn't well-presented & probably good quality, but didn't care 4 the taste of the smoked trout nor the duck rillettes, but did like the tomato/bocconcini salad.
Food: My steelhead was so crispy on the skin and juicy on the meat. The brocolli purée was so smooth and tasty. All the greens were fresh. My partner's warm (fried) goat cheese was also perfectly cooked and creamy. Ravioli was so fragrant and al dente.
Service: Greeted warmly with a smile and offered for a coat-check despite being 90% busy. Our servers were friendly, professional, and attentive. Plus, stylish too.
Ambience: Inviting and cozy with moderate noise. Music on the background was loud but cleverly turned down to a more comfortable level. Good one! Lights were dim and bright enough for us to enjoy the room designs and food. Well done!
Your restaurant is fine. We enjoyed out meal. I found myself indifferent to the wine pairings. I think I would rather stick to one wine than a variety. The desserts were very nice but their descriptions somewhat misleading - clafouti that was a tart. I have nothing bad to say, in case you wonder.
