Small dining room -- easy to talk -- wonderful location in the Museum -- lively sunset view -- nice wine, delicious, unpretentious food; reasonable -- attentive but not intrusive service. Overall, perfect for a conversation with a colleague.
Excellent service. Owner visited table. Food was very tasty.
I have had wonderful meals every time I have dined at Provenance.
Beautiful view, and excellent overall experience. Brought a friend from Singapore who was only in Cleveland for one day because we wanted to take him someplace lovely.
As we have come to expect - perfect, excellent, fantastic!
Absolutely the best dining experience I've had in a long time. The salmon was hot, cooked to perfection and delicious! Many thanks to all who made a great dining experience!
It was a real nice brunch. The food was vey good. The only suggesting I would have would to explain things a little better on the menu. It seemed that the same questions we had, others had too. Beautiful view.
I like the feel and the idea behind it but just seems to fall a little short. There is no regular menu (just brunch) on Saturday when I went. Very few options for vegetarians which is pretty short-sighted in this day and age. Tries to be an intimate space but really isn't although the view thru the windows is quite nice. Food could just use a bit more flavor overall. Coffee just wasn't hot no matter how many times I got a refill.
Lovely! Best bloody Mary that I've had. It was my birthday and I got a delicious complementary dessert. Museum members get a discount as well! Liz (I believe) was my server and she was very nice!
Always a pleasure to include lunch or dinner with a visit to the Museum. But don't think you always need to include a museum visit.... since admission to the Museum is free, you can go to Provenance just because you're in the neighborhood. Their themed menus are always creative and wonderful.
My wife and I have been to Provenance a handful of times over the past couple of years, and I can honestly say that it has gone down hill. We went there recently for brunch and were shocked to discover that they no longer have the chef's table. We were also disappointed that the quality of the dishes and service had seemed to diminish. I once used to highly recommend this restaurant, but I no longer will as the prices do not match the quality.
I have been to Provenance several times for brunch and love it. This time was a little disappointing because the buffet is no longer offered. However, the menu choices were just as wonderful as usual. The four of us each go something different and shared - every one of them was fabulous.
Our server was delightful and friendly. The one complaint I have is that the hostess looked like she had just rolled out of bed and forgot to comb her hair and acted like it was an imposition to have to take care of us. That was the first - and hopefully last -time the service hasn't been perfect.
Lovely room with picture perfect food to match.
Provenance at the Cleveland Museum of Art offers excellent food that is well served, imaginatively prepared and thought out in a beautiful setting in the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Excellent for lunch or dinner whether for business, pleasure or in conjunction with a tour of the museum.
Second time we've enjoyed fantastic meals and service ... and strolling through the Cleveland Art Museum before and after ... it really doesn't get better than this combination unless you can schedule a concert at Severance as well.
We went for Valentine’s Day, and I cannot overstate what a wonderful experience we had. Our table overlooked sweeping view of the Temple all lit up at night, and the ambiance was intimate and cozy.
We arrived late and were therefore on a time crunch before we headed off to a lecture, but our server Erin managed to get us in and out in time while still making everything feel leisurely and relaxed. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and she made excellent recommendations.
We started with the house made burrata, which was delicious and a great starter portion for two. For mains, I was initially disappointed because none of the offerings seemed particularly creative. That said, I had the salmon, and it was phenomenal. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was moist, and it paired beautifully with the potato and yogurt dill sauce. A deceptively simple dish executed to perfection! My husband had the chicken sugo, which he absolutely inhaled.
Although the menu is made up recognizable standard upscale dinner fare, what you order is going to be the best example of whatever it is, with a few interesting twists.
Although there was complimentary champagne for Valentine’s Day, I also had a Winter Pom from their mixed drink menu and was very pleased with the flavors and balance of the drink.
If you’re looking for a romantic dinner spot that has it all - food, drinks, service, and ambiance - this is it!
Too many carbohydrates; over abundance of large potato chunks
Disappointing dinner. I really would like to give Provenance a good review simply because it is at the art museum. However, it took an hour to get our food, the server forgot my wine order, brussel sprouts were cold, and neither my husband nor I could eat about a fourth of our $30 steaks because of grizzle, fat and even a bone chip! The bread was lousy too. The Celeriac salad was tasty.
Have dined there three times for lunch and the food is consistently divine. Love the coffee! Great way to spend the day with friends: tour the museum and dine at Provenance.
Had a wonderful brunch with amazing cocktails! We will certainly return.
We attended the Jazz Exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art. This restaurant is located in this facility. Wow! What a treat. On Sundays' they have a brunch. I had chicken and pancakes. My wife had the eggs Benedict. The food was outstanding. They also have a great wine list. Not a lot of choices but well rounded. If you want a great day of enjoying art and good food, try it out! They also have a cafe that looks interesting as well. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the wine.
We were happy to try this restaurant before viewing the Jazz Age exhibit. We waited quite a few minutes before being greeted and seated. We were given a table in what looked like an overflow room. We walked through the main dining room to reach it. As guests departed the tables were stripped and left bare. Our server was efficient and friendly but pretty busy with several tables. The meal was fine but there was nothing about this that really made it feel like a fine dining experience in our lovely CMA. Will stick to the cafe in the future.
Lovely. Marvelous ambience great presentation attentive service and good food too
Really interesting menu options. Generous portions. Loud in the atrium but quiet in the restaurant. Window table with great views of Malz Performance Center.
We had a very pleasant lunch at Provenance prior to viewing The Jazz Age exhibition. The menu is small and somewhat limited, but we enjoyed our entrees and wine. The service was good, although there was some confusion at the front desk with those who didn't make reservations being turned away. The space is sparse, but the view of the snow banks outside was pleasant. For everyday occasions, we prefer to eat at the more casual dining venue next door, but Provenance is perfect for a special occasion.
A truly wonderful place to go before/after a special exhibit at CMA
A pleasant brunch option. More vegetarian options please.
PLEASE BRING BACK THE HOLIDAY TEA. So disappointed it was not available this year. Location was main draw this year since no Tea.
Always love to celebrate my birthday at Au Provence. It’s a beautiful place with a great view and wonderful ambiance. Good food too!
Fabulous as always. Thanks for helping our organization celebrate the holidays with amazing food and service!
Great service! Food was delicious! Perfect brunch spot before walking around the art museum!!
Based on the website menu information we selected our food and made this reservation. When we arrived we found that the menu was completely different and did not have what we had selected. We left in anger and disappointment and did not eat at Provenance.
Provenance is a wonderful restaurant with the distinct advantage of being located inside of a world class museum. As a result they are able to deliver delicious food in an intimate and beautiful setting after or before which may choose to stroll through the exceptional galleries and exhibits of the Cleveland Museum of Art!
As always we enjoyed a delicious Spinach Soup with garlic croutons, and a salad with fresh local veggies, grilled chicken and the best Ranch dressing drizzled on top. We sat on the lovely patio with the garden right next to us! It was a perfect spot to catch up with a girl friend. Chef Cathy Pavlos was walking about and visiting with customers. We swapped a few recipe ideas. Always a treat to see her! Cheers, Deirdre
Brunch is probably my least favorite meal there. Lunch is perfect and I haven"t tried dinner yet.
I was there for brunch several times and the food was much better. The eggs benidic were dry , extra bacon was hard as a rock, thay did away with the pastry table. Good Bloody Mary. They need to step it up before I go back.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Creative menu that often incorporates items reflecting current exhibitions at the Museum. Make a reservation if you wish to eat at a specific time.
We went to Provenance before seeing The Jazz Age exhibit at The Art Museum. My son absolutely loved his fried chicken and waffles. The Eggs Benedict were so delicious and my husband enjoyed his breakfast tortilla. Beautiful view and excellent service!
Clever and interesting seasonal fare that is delicious. Had an apple-cheddar galette with sage ice cream, one of the best desserts I've ever had. Nice wine, too. Entrees are a bit skimpy for the price--no complaint about the taste, though.
I loved it. The menu changes every season i think! Great good friendly service. Love working here and people watching.
The meal was excellent. The service was thoughtful and helpful. A small glitch was handled perfectly. It's a beautiful setting with extraordinary food.
