Newport Beach is now home to a new dining concept that delivers elements
of California’s wine country to Eastbluff Village Center. This is an exciting new restaurant concept that focuses on bringing seasonal, local and responsible fare to the community. We are ingredient driven, everything is made from scratch, and we use only fresh, seasonal and local ingredients of the highest possible quality. Those ingredients that are not from our garden are sourced from a network of small-scale producers. We believe that sharing emotions with the customer is what cooking is all about. Our kitchen at Provenance unites tradition and modernity and we have a deep respect for our product and our guests. We are going back in time with our own garden, and the experience is just about as local and as natural as you can get...Come in and sample Napa Valley here in Newport Beach!

Provenance Ratings and Reviews
Provenance was very good. The food was fresh, organic, well prepared, well thought out. The service was right on par with the food. Leave parties seem to slow down food service to others. Not sure of their kitchen size or staff. The noise level was exceptionally high primarily from one party of 4. Totally out of the restaurants control . The outside seating area would be perfect on seasonal evenings. Definitely will return.
I haven’t been to Provenance for over a year because I thought it was kind of pricey. I met friends for lunch, and the food was amazing, the menu had many choices, and prices were In line with what I typically pay for lunch. I won’t wait another year to go back!
WENT HERE FOR TH FIRST TIME THIS WEEK. LOVELY PATIO WITH VEG BEDS AROUND. NICE CHOICES FOR WINES AT A RANGE OF PRICES. OTHERS COMPLAINED OF SERVICE BUT OURS WAS ATTENTIVE AND GOOD HUMORED THOUGH WAS LUNCH AND NOT BUSY. HARD TO DECIDE ON MENU, EVERYTHING SOUNDS GOOD, BUT WE HAD A PLATTER OF SQUASHES BACON ETC THAT WAS BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED AND MOST DELICIOUS. AND BIG – STILL GOOD 2 DAYS LATER FOR LATE NIGHT SNACK. BURGER REALLY GOOD BUT FRIES WERE MY FAVORITE - LIKE THICK PARINGS NOT STICKS OF POTATO, PERFECTLY CRISP.
I haven’t been to this restaurant in a long time. The patio seating makes you feel like you’re in Napa. The service was great. The food I had was very good. I had the Burnt Peach, Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad. I enjoyed it but wished there was a piece of toasted rustic bread to put the salad on ...that would have made it perfect. My friends enjoyed their salads as well.
Enjoyed sitting on the patio. I had the Fried Chicken and Greens Salad today. I enjoyed it but felt like it needed more dressing. There were two chicken breasts on the side of the board with the salad. I would have enjoyed the chicken cut up and stop the salad. I also would have liked a few more tomatoes and cranberries and less walnuts. My friend had the same salad and felt the same way. We added avocado to the salad as well and that added to the flavors.
Great little place tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Overall it's a good experience. The food is a bit overpriced, and sometimes just "okay", but worth a try. The appetizers are usually really good; lately we've been just getting 2 appetizers instead of a main. When it's good, it's really good.
We had friends visiting from Seattle, Washington and chose Provenance as the place to take them for dinner. It was as wonderful as ever. Every dish we ordered was delicious and our friends were wishing they had a Provenance at home. Our server, Greg, was so knowledgable and friendly. It was a very nice evening all around.
Love to sit on the patio and look out on the working garden. The cuisine is Napa inspired and packed with flavor. Always presented so beautifully on large wooden boards I find my eyes dancing with all the fun colors and ingredients. Bravo Chef Cathy and team! Cheers, Deirdre
It was my parent's 52nd Anniversary which I made Provenance aware of. I asked for a nice table and a prosecco toast to start. When they confirmed the reservation we went over the requests and they decided to seat us outside. I asked if it might be cool in September at 6:30 PM. They said it wouldn't be but they have heaters if necessary.
First the server approached and said she understood there was an anniversary and whose was it. I thought it was obvious it was the elderly couple at the table. I kiddingly asked how she knew about the anniversary. She actually replied that it said so in the comments. Jeez. She went on; it also said you wanted prosecco. Is that still what you want to do? Should I bring you a bottle of that? So much for savvy.
Then it got cold, especially for 80 year olds and a 6 yo boy. I asked the server if we could get the heaters on. She said there wasn't a heater near our table and they couldn't turn others on because diners close to them would get warm. Sigh. Finally, management decided to lower two of the 6'x8' shades next to our table, blocking our and surrounding diner's view of the garden. Ugh. Maybe the food will make up for the missteps.
The greatest thing about this restaurant is their commitment to organic, local, sustainable foods, including grass fed and free range meats. Unfortunately the chefs have little idea how to cook them, making simple mistakes on butchering and temperature. My pork tenderloin was extremely small in portion size, pre sliced thin and spread apart on the plate to cover this up. Some of the slices were med rare pink which I specified and others were cooked through; later I discovered the slices were only pink on one side as though they were cooked after slicing. Weird. The lamb chops were hacked into 3 rib pieces by an amateur hand and were an uneven med rare. The snapper was mostly over cooked. Apple pie was not, but a deconstructed version with cookies stuck between Apple slices. 🤔
The overall dining experience was good. The steak was tasty. The crab cakes were tasty but a little small. The restaurant has a good wine selection. The waiters were attentive and not overbearing. The overall food portions were on the small side. It is a nice restaurant for an intimate dinner
Very good restaurant love the food. I must tell you though our food server gave us the check without asking if we wanted desert. We of course did because we were celebrating a birthday. Then she said, I didn't think you wanted desert because you had so much food. Still liked our server but she may need more training.
First time to this restaurant. We had reservations to sit inside, the noise level and the medal chairs was so irritating that we had to move outside. Great local restaurant, you have been open long enough to know that you need to do something about the noise and terrible uncomfortable table chairs. service and food was good.
We had a lovely meal with a very creative ambiance. The food for the farm to table menu was grown on site in big planters. Patio seating was among the planters. Service was adequate to good. The salad was spectacular. We had a grilled peach and heirloom tomato platter that was wonderful with burrata cheese, prosciutto, smoked almonds and a balsamic reduction. This was a real treat. The lamb chops and salmon dinners were very good but cannot match this spectacular salad. All in all an excellent meal.
We ordered the tacos which was more of a lettuce wrap with brussel sprouts and cauliflower. Also ordered peach and tomato with burrata. Beautiful presentations and delicious but so overpriced! The warm biscuits were out if this world.
The decor was disappointing because the chairs were like those at Tender Greens! Uncomfortable and I think they could have made a better choice to accomplish a farm to table look.
Have been here a couple of times for weekend brunches, this was the first time for dinner. We made reservations and were seated promptly. Had some drink specials, grilled artichoke and delicious peach, tomato and burrata appetizer. Entrees took a bit to come...but worth the wait. Halibut, lamb and whole branding were all wonderful, with great sides, seasonings and sauces. Way too full for dessert, but since it was hub's birthday, they brought a small brownie and ice cream. It was just meh. The only blemish on the evening was that our server did not seem happy to be there....everyone else was friendly and smiling, not her. Hoping it was just an off night, but it was noticeable for us.
