Best salad bar in South Jersey
We’ve been to Prospectors’ for year but this time was the most memorable one. Our server was so attentive to us and our autistic child which made our dinner experience easier. Our meals were at the right temperature and the right flavors: there were no leftovers! Their table bread is the best we ever had. You need to go and experience it and see what I mean. I recommend it for family get-togethers but on Thursday nights, go as a couple and try their club as well, so much fun learning how to line-dance!
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Have not been there for several years, but it was my friends birthday, and he wanted a big steak. Food and service were fine, salad bar is awesome, but the place is out dated and needs a BIG remodel.
Happy hour...we frequent several places in the area and wanted to try Prospectors to see what they had to offer.....stale peanuts on the bar! I told the bar tender they were stale, she responded--yes, she knows, but they don't(management) do anything about it. They say the brunch on Sunday is nice, but the last time I tried that--the toaster was broken and they ran out of several items on the buffet.
So this would not be one of my favorite places to return to dine until they decide to spruce it up and take the drab out of the "tired looking" place! Maybe they need new management as well as a remodel.
We keep coming back each month
I have been dining at Prospector's since moving to Mt. Laurel in 1991. I have a lunch group of 10 or 12 who gather once a month and when it is my turn to host (once a year) I have chosen Prospector's 3 times. I was there for lunch on Friday, August 3, and for dinner on Monday, August 6. I expect to be there for dinner this coming Sunday, August 12.
Now about the August 6 dinner. My friends ordered a filet rare and a rack of ribs, both of which were very satisfactory. It is the first time they have been to Prospector's, but certainly not the last. They thanked me over and over for my choice of restaurants.
I ordered an end cut prime rib, which is what I usually order. I had to cut through the fat to get to the meat. When the server asked how everything was, I initially said ok. My friends said that I should have mentioned the problem, but I didn't want to upset her. However, within a few minutes after that, a man came over and asked the same question - and I told him the problem. He indicated that when one orders an end cut, it should be expected to be fatty. He then offered to exchange the end cut for a center piece, to which I reluctantly agreed. However, the piece returned was the same one I had sent back for exchange, minus the end part but the fat still remained.
I have ordered end cuts of prime rib many times in various restaurants, and have never had one containing so much fat. Although I am reluctant to try again, I may do so this Sunday.
Food was cold, lacked flavor. Not an enjoyable experience.
Service and food
My daughter chose this restaurant to have her BELATED birthday lunch/dinner at, so her father
and I traveled from Dallas Pennsylvania to celebrate with her and we were NOT disappointed.
Her dad and I had the BRUNCH which was very, very, good and our daughter had the pulled pork
which she absolutely loves....Our visit went well and we will probably return at some point in time.
we went for the brunch-was not what we expected--food was cold.
Our open table reservation was for 6:15 of which we checked in at 6:10p. At 6:40 we were still waiting for our table of which somehow or another they gave our table to another party. It was disappointing having to wait after making a reservation. And making a reservation purposely with 2 smaller kids that were already tired.
We have a large family we were able to be seated right away. The waitress was fantastic. The portions were large and everyone took food home with them. The food was delicious and the salad bar was fresh and a large selection to choose from
Delicious lunches appetizers and dinners. Very nice patio with fireplace. 2 bars...outside and in. Good ribs, Prime Rib!
WARNING AVOID THE BRUNCH! Bad in every way. Crowded slow cold...would dine there anytime but they couldn’t pay me to go to their brunch! Sorry.
Good food Excellent Service
We got together with friends for dinner. The food was good and the server was very accommodating. My husband and I frequent the Prospector's often for lunch also. Love the salad bar.
Was disappointed they told me I couldn’t use my Open Table reward. They said the bill was larger than the reward so it would be declined. I’m sure there must be a way to apply the reward amount to the check.
Service was great although we felt we were being rushed.
Took my boyfriend for his birthday. Food was amazing, came very quickly! Service was great. Jasmine wasn't even our waitress and she offered to get us take home containers because our food came so quickly that we were still working on our soups. Our waiter, Brandon, was friendly, quick and on the ball. Very happy with the visit and will definitely be back.
Very good, not much of a wait time for Sunday Brunch time around 11:30am
Excellent food. Great service
I made reservations on line with no problem and requested a round table for 6 people, if possible. We arrived at 6:00 and were seated at a round table. We had a great time, with great service and great food. We will definitely be back for our "Wednesday dinners" with our group of friends.
I was there on Friday June 15 with my family, celebrating Father's Day two days early. The service was good, but our waitress, Gabriella or Gabrielle, not sure what her actual name was, looked very tired, like she was there all day; overall her service was good and she was pleasant.
Mo, the server, was outstanding. He was personal and professional. His knowledge of the menu enabled him to make excellent suggestions.
It was a wonderful experience. Nice western atmosphere and the food was great. Cooked perfectly. Wait staff exceptional and were very courteous. Also the sald bar was great also. Will definitely return there
Nice evening out. Great portions
Great food and awesome place to have dinner with adults and toddlers
Nice local place with the best steak and salad bar in the immediate atea
Too loud. Service ok but not personal Food ok but not great.
They didn’t have all the food they advertised. If you advertise carving stations, then you should have carving stations.
The salad bar is amazing, I love that they have so many options. Their frozen drinks and draft beers are a great price, as well as their drink specials. I love their gold fingers and wingers. Perfect place for a casual fun night out!
If you can stomach Fox News while eating go to it, myself had to depart before throwing glass of beer at TV.
-Slightly below average food
-Highlight was baked mac and cheese
-Ribeye steak was flavorless boot leather that got sent back.
-Wouldnt go again or recommend.
They're turkey burger is amazing! Home made with all white meat. No fillers. Never had a better one anywhere!!
Came for the first time with family for Sunday Brunch. We had a 12:30 seating. The food from buffet line was not hot. Did not try the omelets due to wait line being long. Waffles were tasty. Coffee was good. I was disappointed that there was no carving station. Our server was very attentive and friendly.
It was busy so maybe we just hit a bad time period.
Our visit did not leave a lasting impression but I would try once again maybe when not so busy.
I would also come back to try the regular menu.
I usually love Prospector’s for lunch and dinner. I decided to give the brunch a try because it had such good reviews. I was highly disappointed with it. It clearly states on their menu that there is breakfast AND lunch dishes as well as a carving station. It even says that on the board when you go into their restaurant. When we got there, it was ALL breakfast. I’m not a huge breakfast person to begin with so it was a big disappointment to walk in there at 11 to find only breakfast. Yes, they have a great salad bar however, I was expecting at least a few lunch options. I spoke with the manager, nicely of course, and explained that it states there is lunch dishes offered. He was very nice but at the same time, not trying to earn my business. He said they have very little if any lunch to offer for the brunch and sometimes as it gets later, they may add some lunch options. Bring it was 11, I was expecting some lunch options. I would hate to go there at 1 (their brunch runs until 2) and have nothing but breakfast. When I asked the manager if I could order something from the menu being that I was not going to eat anything from their buffet except for the salad, he told me I wasn’t allowed until 12pm. I felt that the manager could have done something to accommodate me to make me a satisfied customer. So in the end, I paid for a salad.
Seated on time, waitress really funny and great!!
We had a large group ( 8 adults and 4 kids) with varying tastes. Our waitress was absolutely amazing and handled the table with ease. Everyone’s meal came out at the same time, hot and delicious. Our friends were happily surprised by what we already knew— Prospectors is great!
Had a good meal and a fun night
The service was great too
Normally prospectors is our families go to restaurant but the service we received from our waiter was terrible. He was pushy, and had no patience. By the time I received my side salad, my dinner came immediately after (literally 2-3 minutes after I got my side salad). Our waiter got my husband the wrong beer and when we brought it to his attention he didn’t apologize. In fact he took forever to bring out my husbands correct beer. I was shocked by my favorite dish as well (chicken and broccoli over penne pasta with Alfredo) it had little to no taste. It’s sad the poor service you receive can change your view on the entire restaurant.
We were seated immediately. We requested a table, not a booth and were seated as requested.
The food was overpriced for just being ok. The server seemed really rushed taking our orders and checking in with us.
