I’ve been enjoying Boulevard for many years, but no tables were available for a Friday night dinner with my daughter. I had heard about their sister restaurant Prospect, and found availability at the time we wanted.
From the moment we arrived till the time we left, everything was spot on. Our table was ready on time, the restaurant has a nice overall feel, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, the foods we chose (heirloom tomatoes & summer melons, Alaskan halibut, lobster spaetzle) were high quality and spectacular, and the prices were very reasonable. I’ll definitely return and recommend!

Zucchini & Summer Squash Gratin, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Fregola with Currants & Pine Nuts, Tomato Conserva. I would order it again and actually I'm craving it!
Nice room. You walk through a active and noisy bar scene to the dining area which was much quieter. Service started slow and then improved. Our server was helpful. We started with artichoke ravioli. Outstanding! I had the pork chop. Very good. My wife had salmon. Good but we both liked the pork chop better. Good cocktails. Good wine selection by the glass. Overall, while not cheap we felt we got good value.
Loved it. Had the pasta dish, and share a burrata salad. Good wine list, too. Easy to find.
Wait staff never checked on us. No water refill. Chicken sandwich breading was way too much. Coleslaw soggy and bland. Potato salad taste like it sat for a couple days. No fresh flavors here!
We took 3 friends there and everyone had a good time. The salads and vegetable dishes were most surprising but everything good.
Great space and generally good food, but service was poor. Even with an early reservation, took 75 minutes to receive entrees.
Beautifully-laid out restaurant with efficient but courteous service --- not too thrilled with the prices nor the food portions but good for those with expense accounts.
Good but not great
I went to Prospect with a friend and we both discovered our next favorite downtown restaurant. The food was amazing. I had the halibut and it was delightful- perfectly cooked. We could talk without screaming at each other which made the evening so much more fun. The tables had space between them- what a concept. The service was impeccable. I intend to come back often.
Food was excellent. The service was a bit slow - long time between courses.
We enjoyed dinner and will return.
Prospect is our go-to neighbourhood hang-out. The food is simply amazing. The menu changes based on what's fresh and in season. The meals are expertly prepared and presented and the flavour combinations are delicious. The hand-mixed cocktails are wonderful. Try the Cardinal Sin - a surprising and refreshing combination of beet infused Gin and strawberry juice. It's yummy! Two of our frequently ordered dishes is the halibut and the duck. Highly recommend them both. The kitchen is very accommodating with my gluten allergy. OK so as amazing as the food is, it would be only half as amazing if it were not for the totally awesome staff! We have our favs, and feel really spoiled every time we eat here. They are real pros and are friendly and efficient all at the same time. Strongly suggest you give Prospect a try. We love it there! Oh and you have to try the deserts!! AH-mazing!! (-:

Made my reservation thru Open Table and our party arrived promptly at res time. Restaurant did not check us in and Open Table accused us as a “no show.” Very disappointing and had to make an extra effort to get credit for $230. lunch.
The food and food combinations are really nice, a bit noisy for me but great atmosphere. The pork chop and filet were absolutely done to perfection and quite delicious.

Inviting and comfortable upscale casual environment - would be very comfortable for a business meeting during the day or a friend/family get together in the evening. Came here for dinner and ambiance was a bit confusing - some people dressed up nicely, some families in t-shirts/ballcaps (Not everyone is "smart casual").
Food is delicious - pork chops and filet mignon were extremely tender and well-prepared. Food presentation also strong. Service quality high.
My friend and I both had the scallops and were very, very happy. Food was piping hot with outstanding flavors. Service was impeccable. Good value for a very upscale meal / experience.
The elegant design of this restaurant reflected all the way through its' staff to the food. Impressive!
We had an awesome server, Cedric. Great repartee and knows his wines......speaking of which, robust wine list with lots to choose from and some decent (for SF) values.
Excellent menu, they did a nice job accommodating a gluten free person in our party.

Would not recommend for dining. Although the bar scene is very lively and popular, service was quite mixed. The hostess was friendly and very helpful, finding us seats at the crowded bar while we waited for our reservation time (we were early) and then coming over to take us to our table. The big issue was our waiter who could have cared less about our experience, and it showed. He mumbled through some basic menus descriptions, left for long periods of time, never came back to see how we were doing once our food was delivered by the manager. And it was the manager we had to ask for anything we needed. The food was quite disappointing, given that the restaurant is the sister to Boulevard, where we have only had excellent food and service. It seems our expectations were too high.
Wonderful place with exceptional food and service
Overrated for okay food.
Came for a business lunch and the place just seemed odd. Older business clients, retro-modern interior and the food was just ok. I had the chicken sandwich and my guest had a salad. The server kept refilling my Arnold Palmer with iced tea, so I had to ask for a fresh drink. My guest did not finish her salad and she seemed unimpressed. For all I had heard about the place I expected better.
Thank you to Chef John and the entire staff that made Bernardo's birthday so memorable! Loved everything about the experience!
Prospect was wonderful, as always. We had the pork chop and the halibut. They were prepared excellently, as always. But at Prospect it is the accompaniments that are so uniquely tasty. The staff knows how to make the whole experience special. That’s why we can always count on Prospect when we have guests in town.
Loved our meals at Prospect, creative and delicious flavor in every bite, and absolutely enjoyed the decor and "just right " level of sound in the atmosphere- (not too loud to talk and not too quiet either).
We will definitely return soon and look forward to doing so. Just love the white peacock too.
We enjoyed the food and the cocktails, and the great service, but the best thing was that we could talk in a very busy restaurant. They must have installed a Meyer Sound System.
The bone marrow and beef tartar was amazing. Lovely place for drinks and a chat. Perfect location.
My expectations were high and they were by far exceeded. I came in with my husband and my very wild 1 year old daughter. From the moment we got there the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. The staff's acceptance of our wild child went so far as to the hosts even entertaining her while we enjoyed some appetizers! I can't give enough praise of this experience. It really touched me. I now know why I've heard such wonderful things about this place!
The relationship with your waiter is crucial to the entire dining experience. Our waiter was jar droppingly rude. We ordered a few appetizers and was waiting for our steak. We asked him and he responded saying the steak did not arrive because we were not done with our appetizer. We thought the appetizer were small plates of food which is why we were confused at why the steak did not come out with the other plates but STILL we had been waiting with empty appetizer plates for over 25 mins. And he could have explained that to us without being so aggressive and angry. He was so RUDE in his response my entire dining experience was ruined. Saying that we should have known considering that we were on appetizers (which we had finished a long time ago) Our bill was around $300 and it was a complete waste of money because of our waiter. He knew his attitude was unacceptable especially at such a great restaurant. If you are the manager please contact me if you would like more information. We paid $300 to have a horrible Father’s Day.
Visiting from NYC and wanted a relaxed early lunch with very good food and wine. Prospect came highly recommended and lived up to its accolades. Spacious modern room. Knowledgeable pleasant staff who care about details. Good wines by the glass including Barolo and Meursault. Strong menu. We were happy with duck mousse with corn bread muffins, lobster salad, sautéed spinach, fried chicken sandwich with fine potato salad. Desserts are wonderful. Highly recommend.
I made a reservation this time but never really had had to. Always seated quick and the food is really good. Everyone remembers the fried chicken sandwich and the deviled egg apps are yummy!

Food was excellent, and we had a great time. The appetizers were probably better then the mains, but overall both very good. We were there on vacation, having a date night, but we saw a little of everything. Date, business mostly.
Our team very much appreciated the short walking distance from the office to the restaurant. The meal was great, but kind of expensive - it's San Francisco. Can't promise that our team will go there again due to this circumstance.
