About Prospect

Prospect is a more casual dining hall from the team behind San Francisco's acclaimed Boulevard. Partners Nancy Oakes (James Beard award-winning chef/owner of Boulevard), Pam Mazzola and Kathy King, have created a convivial venue that pays tribute to contemporary American cuisine. Whether it's a cocktail and a bite at the bar, a casual meal at the communal table, or a relaxed lunch or dinner in the main dining room, guest can enjoy the full menu and exceptional service. Designed by Brand + Allen Architects, the loft-like space is warmed by earth tones, natural fibers, and reclaimed wood, while unique elements like artisan-crafted wrought iron chandeliers add distinctive character to the impressive dimensions. A separate dining room is available for private events.

I took my wife for her birthday celebration and the staff went above and beyond. My wife received a gift card which it was really nice and our waiter was super nice by giving her suggestions what she should try. The food was delicious, I recommend to try the heritage Berkshire pork chops. This dish was delicious!!!!! We can’t wait to come back

The crab soup was outstanding. The pork chop was really good as was the duck breast. Overall, we were very happy with the meal. The waitress dealt well with glutin free request also.

NYE 2017/18 prix fixe 3-course dinner. There were some tasty bits but unfortunately also some missteps that were disappointing:: the butter with the bread was a cold hard slab (may seem like a small detail, but not one to be overlooked at this level of dining, especially for a bread fiend) and both the lobster (sea bass / lobster entree) and the guinea fowl (stuffed guinea entree) were chewy. The bison carpaccio and burrata starters were quite tasty. Service and ambiance on-point. Overall, I will continue SF food journeys elsewhere.

So disappointed with our server. She was rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. I felt like a third-class citizen with her lack of interaction, eye contact and overall lack of interest in our dining experience.

The friendliness of the staff was amazing starting at the door when we were greeted. Restaurant is beautiful and compliments the overall experience. The food was delicious and organic in taste. Our waiter was knowledgeable..he certainly helped us with our decisions. I love this restaurant!

We have not been to Prospect for a few years and decided to give it another try. The fois gras was definitey the best I have had in SF in quite some time, however my meal (the special - stuffed lamb shank) showed up like warm, and my wife's gnocchi was extremely overpowered by the citrus sauce. Very dissapointed Maybe we will try them for lunch, but too many other dinner spots to risk again.

One of the best restaurants in San Francisco. The chef does an outstanding job! Anyone who can turn brussel spouts into a tasty dish with devine subtle flavors has my vote. Will enjoy another meal there soon.

Ambiance very good; very busy. We found this venue to be rather expensive, particularly considering some of the portion amounts (too small). The menu choices were few. The food was quite good, but the value wasn't there. Corkage is $30 and we find that to be on the high side.
Overall, we didn't think we would return. We were disappointed because I'd heard good things about this restaurant and I know its "pedigree."

Been looking forward to visiting Prospect for some time. Finally was able to make it a last Saturday after the Dianne Reeves concert @ SF Jazz.

This is now one of our favorite SanFran "Date-Nite" resturants.

Absolutely fantastic drinks, excellent wines...the Little Gems salad was scrumptious, the New York prime and Striped Bass was delectable.

Don't get me started on the Chocolate Pie...and my bride still can't get over the Almond Frangipane.

Would recommend.

Fabulous lunch at Prospect! First time diner there for a relaxing business lunch. Service was attentive but non-intrusive during our 2-hour meal. We both had the (slightly) spicy prawn salad, which was just the right mixture of protein, leafy greens, and crunchy onion with a terrific dressing. The prawns were huge, perfectly fresh and perfectly cooked. Would love to return on next trip to the city.

We celebrated a friend's birthday and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Delicious food/cocktails, beautiful presentation, high quality stemware and great service. Tiffany was a great help suggesting wines to pair with our different courses.

This is a very nice restaurant with a variety of tasty menu items. Appetizers and main courses were great, but I wished they had more than 1 salad choice. The reason ibdidnt give 5 stars was because they didn't provide bread unless requested. Are you kidding me? We spent over $100 per head and you have to ask for bread?

A large format restaurant for sure. Impressive decor. The menu is quite limited. I'd way a bit over priced for the quality, too. Their wine choices aren't great if you're just having a glass of wine.

Say it with me now. Overrated. And the staff is full of themselves and not focused on customer service. Food is uneven. Some courses, e.g., foie gras, are quite good. Others are undone by overcooked fish (halibut) or poor conception (flavor mix in the beet salad). The wine service was particularly poor. The wine selection, very nice, couldn’t stand up to the somm, who was basically surly.

First time there. Great room - tall ceilings. The room was a bit loud for my preference and the table a bit wide - made it difficult to easily hear each other, though plenty of space between the tables. Food is that classic new American - we shared 2 salads and two different fish preparations and all was very tasty. Wine list has much to offer - though price point is a bit high for most. Glad I went; ambivalent about a return.

I spent about $225 on one appetizer, two entres, one dessert, and 4 drinks. I ordered the New York strip, medium. It tasted like nothing. The cost, I believe, is associated with the “old money” customer. My date and I were the only people either under thirty or with melanin. Not my steez.

My Prospect burger was a 10 finger meal. It took all 10 fingers to hold everything together for the first bite... just the way a perfect burger should be! Rare... just as I ordered with every ingredient as fresh as as could be.
My server Alex was delightful and assisted in picking out the perfect beer to go with this fabulous Burger. Looking forward to next time!
