About Prospect

Prospect is a more casual dining hall from the team behind San Francisco's acclaimed Boulevard. Partners Nancy Oakes (James Beard award-winning chef/owner of Boulevard), Pam Mazzola and Kathy King, have created a convivial venue that pays tribute to contemporary American cuisine. Whether it's a cocktail and a bite at the bar, a casual meal at the communal table, or a relaxed lunch or dinner in the main dining room, guest can enjoy the full menu and exceptional service. Designed by Brand + Allen Architects, the loft-like space is warmed by earth tones, natural fibers, and reclaimed wood, while unique elements like artisan-crafted wrought iron chandeliers add distinctive character to the impressive dimensions. A separate dining room is available for private events.

This is a very nice restaurant with a variety of tasty menu items. Appetizers and main courses were great, but I wished they had more than 1 salad choice. The reason ibdidnt give 5 stars was because they didn't provide bread unless requested. Are you kidding me? We spent over $100 per head and you have to ask for bread?

A large format restaurant for sure. Impressive decor. The menu is quite limited. I'd way a bit over priced for the quality, too. Their wine choices aren't great if you're just having a glass of wine.

Very good fois gras and scallops appetizers and gnocchi. Desserts are not too sweet and delicious!

Good modern California cuisine. Unobtrusive but helpful wait staff. Crowded and noisy during the lunch rush.

I️ would recommend Prospect for any occasion. There are many amazing restaurants, but this one is special and their team exudes warmth., embracing you from the moment you arrive. You will return again and again

Say it with me now. Overrated. And the staff is full of themselves and not focused on customer service. Food is uneven. Some courses, e.g., foie gras, are quite good. Others are undone by overcooked fish (halibut) or poor conception (flavor mix in the beet salad). The wine service was particularly poor. The wine selection, very nice, couldn’t stand up to the somm, who was basically surly.

First time there. Great room - tall ceilings. The room was a bit loud for my preference and the table a bit wide - made it difficult to easily hear each other, though plenty of space between the tables. Food is that classic new American - we shared 2 salads and two different fish preparations and all was very tasty. Wine list has much to offer - though price point is a bit high for most. Glad I went; ambivalent about a return.

I spent about $225 on one appetizer, two entres, one dessert, and 4 drinks. I ordered the New York strip, medium. It tasted like nothing. The cost, I believe, is associated with the “old money” customer. My date and I were the only people either under thirty or with melanin. Not my steez.

We've been here three times, and each experience was fantastic. Wonderful combinations of flavors, expertly prepared, and perfect wine recommendations to go with our food.

My Prospect burger was a 10 finger meal. It took all 10 fingers to hold everything together for the first bite... just the way a perfect burger should be! Rare... just as I ordered with every ingredient as fresh as as could be.
My server Alex was delightful and assisted in picking out the perfect beer to go with this fabulous Burger. Looking forward to next time!

Lovely restaurant in the Embarcadero area. Food was good but the portions are quite small except for the pork chops which I had. I shared my dinner with my two other diners so we were OK. The service was excellent.

It is on the overpriced side. Understand me, the food is really good (not amazing though, not life changing). But 110 per dinner per person is not 70 :)

Pretty big restaurant with a nice bar area. Great ambiance fit for business dinners. However, menu options for food was very limited and the flavor was lacking. Other than being salty. Squid ink pastas color was unique but lacked flavor. Salmon entree was overdone and @lso lacked flavor. Beef tartar was good

This place is always delicious. From the fried chicken sandwich to the carne asada, scallops with risotto, chicken salad, ahi tartar, so good! Great wine and lemonade and they have the best lemon pie I've ever had. The decor is modern and sleek and airy wit lots of light. Service is always prompt.

Was excited to dine here. Service and food was disappointing. Hot plates handed without warning for guests to place on table themselves, dirty martini was nasty AF, and the "top 3" dishes were mediocre at best. So much potential, just not there yet.
