Kudos to the entire team! From soup to salad to pork chop to wine, we couldn't do any better than Prospect.
We enjoyed the dinner and the service was excellent. The food was good and we enjoyed everything we ordered, but didn't go home feeling the food was exceptional.

Great to have restaurants like Prospect open again. Their food continues to be excellent, as always. And the service was outstanding, which is quite remarkable in today's covid climate of labor shortages. Our dishes included the outstanding duck mousse, excellent heirloom tomato salad, pork chop, and steak bavette. We also shared an excellent desert and a bottle of wine. We look forward to returning in the near future.

BUT-- here you can eat outdoors like it is supposed to be-- under trees, surrounded by plants, patio ironwork and comfortable chairs under starry nights-- no plastic huts here.
Love the gorgeous space/ambiance, delicious food and service. We had the burger, halibut, scallops and signature pork chop. You can't go wrong with any of those!

Prospect is a very sophisticated, high end affordable place to eat in SOMA. The food is comparable to Michelin Star Guided restaurants thanks to Chef Pamela Mazzola. The ambiance is classy and rich, yet casual. This place is a little gem!

It took quite a long time between appetizer and main course. Longer than I would have liked. The restaurant is a just a little too loud. I’m not sure why - it might just be the acoustics but it was difficult to hear my wife when she was speaking across the table. The food was good but it was a little too pricey to make it a regular stop in our restaurant dining rotation. It would have to be more for special occasions. The only other issues I had is that they allowed a rather menacing large pit bull inside the restaurant near the bar. It seem like a fun bar scene but the dog would scare me away. I get lap dogs allowed in a restaurant but 80 pound pit bulls or Rottweilers is too much.
Delicious meal! There were four of us and we all order different dishes, and all of them were wonderful.
I admit I am biased. We live in the building and we eat here regularly and know the staff and ownership well. That said, there are maybe 5 restaurants on the planet that I have ever said that about and this is one of them. First timers will love the vibe, the craft cocktails, the succulent menu, and the high end service. Stick around a while and love that your favorite cocktail arrives with your first welcome from your server, you favorite wines come paired with your favorite meals, and you never leave the place without something unexpected and delish. Prospect will forever be close to our hearts and we highly recommend you give it a chance to charm yours.

Outdoor space not up to the standards of indoor dining. Partially the elements and partially the standards of equipment used for outdoor comfort not up to normal expectations. Could be outdoor dining is not a priority going forward.

The gem salad is interesting. Its presentation is interesting. Not much salad dressing taste. Entire dish kind of blah

Halibut is overcooked and dry. Corn is a bit too sweet and the two items don’t seem to go together.
Scallop dish is also blah. Just four medium sized scallop on a big plate of risotto. Seems that adding a little color would greatly help the presentation. Scallops tasted fresh though.
The smoked salmon, on the other hand, stood out. Beautiful bright orange color and tasted good.
There were a few drops of water on our table for most part of our meal. Just can’t believe not one person who walked up and down the aisle all night long bother to clean them up. These people include the waitress, the busboys, and the two higher up persons. One was supervising a table setup for 5 and the other one was training a waitress.
Had tap water to drink and no dessert. Bill came to $130 something before tip. Just thought it’s a little expensive
And when we left, the manager and the front desk woman were too busy talking to each other to notice us.
Prospect used to be much better than what I experienced tonight. What happened?

A perfect evening - incredible, innovative, locally-sourced menu, executed in Michelin-level style. This is a destination-caliber restaurant, while also serving as a “neighborhood gem.” So happy they have re-opened. They haven’t missed a beat, and maybe even kicked it up a notch!

Creative cocktails with yummy spiced nuts, and beautifully prepared dishes. We had the halibut, scallops with risotto, and "deconstructed" vegetarian lasagna for entrees. All were outstanding. Our server recommended an excellent Sancerre, which was the perfect complement to everything we ate. We had the tuna poke mini tostadas and the cod with potato chips for starters -- both wonderful. The raspberry pavlova and strawberries/cream desserts were fantastic.
The service was topnotch, and each item of food was perfectly prepared, seasoned, and presented. Super-excited to have gotten to eat here again after so long--well worth the wait!
