Food. Very tasty but portions pretty small.
Great restaurant, We LOVE the desserts (Bravo to the chef !).
The special menu entree was returned to the kitchen twice owing to the very Luke warm temperature of the ribs. Other than this the meal was average.
Overpriced and food is dull. Bar is nice for a drink but wouldn't go back.
Great meal showcasing the great food in SF! Wowed us with great lunch options and left us full and very happy!
Amazing. I’ve put off a visit to Prospect for years now and ... now Im bummed. As a long-time foodie/chef i wasn’t expecting to be wowed. But a friend treated and everything was spot on. Crab salad was lovely and seasonally spot on, (though, admittedly there weren’t enough hearts of palm); scallops - the best sushi-grade Ever-in a delightful sauce and refreshing accompaniments, pacific swordfish in the perfect amount of red wine sauce and parsnips to sweeten the dish up! Yum! Do NOT miss the fries. Thick-crispy outside potato-y inside. Lovely service with knowledge and a smile. I look forward to returning
Great Monday evening dinner with a friend.
French Onion Dip appetizer was something you can buy out of a can. The Italian White Truffles and Potato Gnocchi was very bland. Could not tell there were any truffles and the gnocchi was very doughy.
Entree's were done well however and service was decent. Would not recommend the desserts. They must of had an off night as they were forgettable.
Food is excellent but most of the time, the bread is not serve automatically. I have to ask for bread all the time and it takes a while for the server to bring it to the table. I don't know if this is the policy to ask for bread but I just want to hear from the server if a customer would a bread before their orders and drinks are serve. At least we have an option if we want it or not.
Service was much slower than normal.
Always an enjoyable evening -- so close to the Embarcadero -- makes for a nice walk after dinner also
Great service with waitstaff, sommelier is knowledgeable and had excellent pairings.
This is a "go to" location for important celebrations: the food is great, service outstanding, and it's an overall great restaurant.
There’s a lot to like about Prospect. Nice interior, good bar, good service generally. My guests really liked their food, I was the only one who didn’t (I had gnocchi and I thought it tasted of ham, which I hate, and which wasn’t mentioned in the ingredients). Good wine list.
Prospect was good . . . just not great . . . or anywhere close to their sister restaurant “Boulevard” which in our opinion is a true S.F experience !!!
Christmas Eve treated ourselves instead of cooking this year. We wanted to order one of everything in the menu and got close ! Prime rib special was great.
I had the Dover sole which was delicious. Service was great .... could have been a more festive atmosphere with live music or something. Prospect never disappoints !
Waiter was nice and pleasant but wine service especially was terrible. Really slow and inattentive.
Ambiance in the back was terrible as it was dark, cold and loud and being seated next to a large table with over served guests was awful.
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Was my third and last time at Prospect.
Sorry, just feels like a hotel restaurant experience with a soul!
The waiter suggested that we could double the portion of our pasta without informing us that the price we be doubled. The overall amount for the doubled portion paid was c. 60$ for a portion of double pasta that was not sufficient even for one person. If we were informed in the first place (as we should have been) that the amount would be that high (c. 60$) we could have ordered a main course from the menu and not the pasta as we did. An appropriate level of professionalism dictates that a professional (the waiter in our case) takes always into consideration the client’s best interest by informing him/her about prices as well as about available options that meet his/her needs in a more suitable way.
My first time dining at Prospect was exceptional. I probably stuck out as an odd ball being a woman dining alone, nonetheless my usher and server were both professional, friendly and attentive. I did not even see a single raised eyebrow.
Food was novel, presentable and delicious. One should not be disillusioned about the prices as after all Prospect is a high end restaurant.
I intend to return to Prospect in the future, hopefully with company that time.
We totally enjoyed our meal. The food tasted great and the service was wonderful.
Very bummed. Came here previously and had a great experience but this time the service was terrible and the food was rushed. We had a 1:45 reservation and upon arriving were told the kitchen closes at 2:00.... no note of that was mentioned in our reservation so this was quite strange. Won’t give you a play by play but the service was shockingly bad.
Excellent as always!
Dining experience was not memorable. Salad was not good. My wife had good scallops, although on the smaller side, I had a very pricey New York steak which was good, not worth the price in my opinion andthe side dishes I had with the steak were not worth eating. No need for us to go back.......
Wonderful service, sommelier helped tremendously, food was on point. Grilled poached and roasted to perfection
From start to finish, a superlative experience.
Dinner was just so so according to you friends. Noise level was huge. We really couldn’t talk to each other. Appetizers were the best. We had one
Polk chop, one sole, one reisoto and one salad and then pasta.
Menu typical of that of many restaurants. Very expensive for the small portion of food served. Glad I tried Prospect. Don't see the need to return.
Another great meal. Only off issue is we ordered a Syrah and were brought a merlot. It was good but not what we requested.
Great food and service. Highly recommended. A bit noisy is the only issue but dont let stoo you from going.
Felt very rushed.
Always a great time! Second time here this year. I've attended on a Saturday for a date night but most recently come by for happy hour drinks after work. Both were great experiences!
We had a great time at Prospect. It was an early holiday lunch. The food was great, and the service was outstanding.
The pour of red wine for $15 - 5 oz for my guest was what felt like a rip off.
We asked for a little more and were told emphatically it was 5 oz and that was all we would have ... truly unbelievable even whenGM was involved .. not a great experience - have spent a lot of $ at Prospect for business lunches .. not sure I want to anymore ..
Custumer service needs to be improved. We went there for lunch and our waiter seemed annoyed that we were ordering half hour before the kitchen was closing. The food makes us want to come back. The service was the part that ruined the entire experience. Being myself part of the industry I would have NEVER wanted to write this review. But I felt like talking to the manager that day wouldn’t have helped. He was witness of the server’s poor behavior and saw the mistake that was being made and never once came to the table to ask us what was wrong. Custumer service is important in restaurant business, I think this is a wonderful restaurant. Just hope I will not have the same experience next time I come in.
As always, excellent!
My husband and I had a memorable meal at Prospect last week. Food was amazing, waiter was energized and helpful, sommelier was extremely knowledgeable. We will be back!
