Dinner was just so so according to you friends. Noise level was huge. We really couldn’t talk to each other. Appetizers were the best. We had one
Polk chop, one sole, one reisoto and one salad and then pasta.
Menu typical of that of many restaurants. Very expensive for the small portion of food served. Glad I tried Prospect. Don't see the need to return.
Great food and service. Highly recommended. A bit noisy is the only issue but dont let stoo you from going.
Felt very rushed.
Always a great time! Second time here this year. I've attended on a Saturday for a date night but most recently come by for happy hour drinks after work. Both were great experiences!
We had a great time at Prospect. It was an early holiday lunch. The food was great, and the service was outstanding.
The pour of red wine for $15 - 5 oz for my guest was what felt like a rip off.
We asked for a little more and were told emphatically it was 5 oz and that was all we would have ... truly unbelievable even whenGM was involved .. not a great experience - have spent a lot of $ at Prospect for business lunches .. not sure I want to anymore ..
Custumer service needs to be improved. We went there for lunch and our waiter seemed annoyed that we were ordering half hour before the kitchen was closing. The food makes us want to come back. The service was the part that ruined the entire experience. Being myself part of the industry I would have NEVER wanted to write this review. But I felt like talking to the manager that day wouldn’t have helped. He was witness of the server’s poor behavior and saw the mistake that was being made and never once came to the table to ask us what was wrong. Custumer service is important in restaurant business, I think this is a wonderful restaurant. Just hope I will not have the same experience next time I come in.
As always, excellent!
My husband and I had a memorable meal at Prospect last week. Food was amazing, waiter was energized and helpful, sommelier was extremely knowledgeable. We will be back!
Prospect consistently pleases. Another amazing meal. Particularly enjoyed the whole trout which was a great meal for two. Service was a little slower than usual, and the restaurant was very busy with several large parties
Great food, but cocktails and wine are very pricey. Definitely recommend. Cathy is awesome!
We had an incredibly enjoyable experience the food was amazing. We had visitors from Chicago and I was quite pleased with the restaurant that I chose. There was not one thing that was not top notch. Food, ambiance, service, presentation, quality it was all fantastic.
Prospect is an incredible restaurant...the food is amazing...I brought 2 friends who had never been to Prospect..both of them have now become 2 huge fans of this great SF landmark
Loved our evening out with friends .. .this is a very special place!
Loved our experience at Prospect! The neighborhood was pretty quiet on a Saturday night, but when we entered the restaurant, it was very cozy - it was busy, but not crowded and loud. The scallop appetizer was amazing and we all enjoyed our entrees. The desserts (apple toffee cake!!) were so delicious and the atmosphere was just right for our small get together. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic meal and great service
Vibrant and buzzing. Chic plates very well prepared. Pate and mini cornbreads stop you n your tracks good
Great ambience and atmosphere. Very good for date night, business dinner and catch up with friends. Food was exceptional, fresh and well presented.
Great clean decor. Food was tasty, small portions but delicious. Highly recommend.
Always a great choice. Great service, food, bar etc.
Food was excellent. Service was very poor. I had to ask for everything, we were a table of 4, ordered cocktails and appetizers, a little rushed. Entrees came before the requested wine list, wine arrived half way thru entree. For the $$$ spent, service should be better. Food was excellent. We usually go to Boulevards but it was booked. Not the night out I had hoped for.
Classy / professional vibe. Excellent wine and cocktail selection. Duck breast was cooked to perfection.
The service was exceptional. Birthday girl received a complimentary dessert, a pleasant surprise. Did not feel rushed.
Very nice atmosphere with a nice bar for happy hour. Very good cocktails.
Our dishes were very good. Halibut was very well prepared as well as the duck breast.
The service was very good and the restaurant is very pleasant, however I think the menu is very
limited and the food is just OK.
Food and service were both wonderful
Incredible food, service, and atmosphere. I went here for a birthday lunch with my mom, and they even gave me a birthday card! Such wonderful attention to detail. I can't wait to come back.
We have dined at Prospect a number of times, often for special occasions with friends, like birthdays, or just the two of us for our anniversary. The food is always incredibly good, the service is swift, friendly and attentive. Their new "high-end" wines by the glass choices are really an interesting and fun choice if you want to try a glass (often $40+) as a splurge rather than pay $120+ for the whole bottle! The maitre d' and the sommelier were both available, helping out the staff and checking with wine choices. We always love dining at Prospect and will continue to do so.
Jonathan the som was excellent!!
Dinner was marvelous!! We had octopus appetizer and whole fish, split between two. It is pricey, but the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Not for the "faint of wallet".
This is by far my favorite restaurant in the city.
If you want a corporate ambiance with very good food, this is a good choice. If you want a more hip vibe, probably not.
Recommendations by our host were well taken! Suggested specials, highlighted regular food items and cocktails made for a delicious evening. Atmosphere a bit dark giving one a more intimate feeling than normal in such a vast open space with high ceilings. Surprising; perfect temperature control.
Many excellent interactions with our host, associated hosts and table managers. Conversations by all built the flavors array delivered by such a day or night out.
Prospect is a great place for work occasions or a Happy Hour. If you'll want to go for a fun date this place does add a good ambiance with an atmosphere around to ignite good conversations. The menu was really good. I had the duck while my friends tried the tasting menu. The Cocktail menu was short and so it was easy to chose from.
WE HAD A GREAT TIME. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, THE WAITER WAS FRENCH..DESERTS WERE AMAZING...REALLY NICE RESTAURANT..WE ARE PLANNING ON GOING BACK!
Oh, I wanted to love this restaurant so much. I had a friend visiting from Japan who is a macrobiotic chef, restaurant owner and entrepreneur who wanted a dining experience in SF that served organic, locally sourced food. An evening flight arrival at SFO dictated a FiDi restaurant that would be easy to get to. I had heard good things about Prospect and thought it would be perfect.
The service was really outstanding - let me get that right out there, but the noise was really surprising. It was difficult to hear the person across the table from me. Our table was adjacent a strange sort of "window" to a serving station where we could hear the server's conversations which added to the general noise. On a Monday night I was surprised at the volume of noise.
The food was good, but not great and certainly not for the cost. We had the burrata appetizer which was pretty average, and the roasted carrots with hummus which was really good. One of us had the Pink Peony cocktail which was very good, I had a glass of the blended Gruner Veltliener, which went well with the halibut. My husband had the Piggy Vieux which he enjoyed. Entrees were a bit difficult since my guest is vegetarian and there was only ONE vegetarian dish listed in the entrees. You would think that a restaurant in SF that touts organic food would have more than just one veggie entree. The waiter suggested that we could order more veggie sides like the carrots - and I had to remind him that we'd had them for an appetizer. The de-constructed lasagne vegetarian option was had by my guest and my daughter and it was pretty clear that the pasta was either under cooked to begin with or was left under a heat lamp too long as it was dry. My husband enjoyed the duck. My halibut, while cooked well, was over salted and the dish as a whole was unimpressive. Everyone loved the desserts, especially the apple toffee cake, the blood peach sorbet, and the coffee creme brulee tart. The bill was $$$
Restaurant and food was above average but service was absolutely horrendous.
Waiter forgot one appetizer. Service was pitifully slow. Entrees seemed overpriced.
Poor service and ok quality food
