The food and overall dining experience at Prospect is exceptional. Beautiful presentation. Service was exceptional.
Food was excellent and the service outstanding.
I have been dining at Prospect since it opened and have enjoyed my dining experience every time. The food is amazing, the room makes you feel special and the ability to talk over dinner is a bonus.
Love this fabulous restaurant everything is always superb. Food and service always keeps us coming back. Thank you so much Kathy King, Don and Rebecca love you and all you have created!!!!
Food was very good. It was our second time there. The service was a little better, a bit more friendly the first time. Took a while for server to ask us about dessert.
Yesterday my husband and I took my Mother-in-law here for her birthday dinner, and the service was impeccable! I thank everyone here for their excellent service and attention to detail. The ambiance, food, and decor was beautiful and perfect.
Good location for business lunch with a menu that has good options for vegetarians and all others. Excellent seasonal/daily soup.
Delightful in every way, from decor to service to food to cocktails (amazing) and a great wine list.
It was so nice to dine at a restaurant where I could actually hear my dinner partner without yelling over loud music or crowd noise. Thank you!
The food was mostly uninspired. The restaurant was not crowded. The ventilation system was designed for many more bodies. There was so much air movement, the food was cold in 5 minutes.
The Ahi tune crudo starter was good (sesame, jidori egg, black squid ink rice chips), but the portion was tiny. Petrale sole, boring. Steak, had a mound out a mushroom-ish tapanade, totally overwhelmed the meat.
Mint ice cream sandwiches were great.
Food was okay. Better places for the price. The ambience is great for conversation. Large booths, lots of room between parties.
The service and decor was very nice and pleasant-great for a date night. The food was very good but not much of a selection. Service was excellent. i would recommend for a night out.
Dinner was very special, accompanied by impressive service, not just at our table, but throughout the area where we sat. Presentation of each plate was a beautiful sight to behold, each with its own surprise.
Expensive? Yes, for my pocketbook; but it was a special occasion which merited a fine dinner.
From start to finish, Prospect does not disappoint. Considering how many people were there, you'd expect it to be loud and hard to hear others at your table; not the case at all.
It's a give that the food is amazing, but it was the wine service that was especially noteworthy. The Som took the time to sell us 2 great bottles of Italian red that we otherwise would not have known about.
This is a place that great for business and for a date night. I'll definitely be back!
not the best, should've booked elsewhere. we had 3 people and ordered a lot but the service was slow and the food wasn't that great. will not visit again
My new (from a stack from the server) appetizer plate was coated on the bottom with copious creamy white and brown food. From a dirty table? All over my hands and on my shirt before I realized. This is disgusting - . Server later merely said sry and replaced it. Certainly not HER fault, but her lack of apparent concern is not encouraging.
Excellent food and service!
Food and service were both excellent. Far superior to other nearby restaurants. Only complaint is that it was very noisy.
The meal along with the service was amazing! Thank you!
Incredible! From the food to the service! An SF fave.
Outstanding meal, from beginning to dessert. Nice cocktails, good service. Pricey.
Based on one lunch visit: The food was good. The service was perfunctory at times, and our server seemed rushed. The decor is like a corporate boardroom.
I love this restaurant. This is my third visit to Prospect over a several year span and each time it has been excellent from the food, to the service to the overall feel of the place. I was with a long time friend visiting from out of town and she was equally pleased. Our server and the other wait staff who helped were right on top of everything. I can highly recommend this place for a nice date, with a group of friends, a celebration or business dinner. I will be back!
Food was great. We were in the back and service was slow.
I really liked this restaurant when it first opened but since then it's become a venue for large format corporate dinners and company happy hours and it just kills the vibe for anyone going for anything else. My husband and I were seated at a two top between a party of 16 and a party of 20 and got zero attention from our waitress. It was so loud, we had problems hearing each other from across the table. Food was unceremoniously dropped down at our table without any explanation by food runners which is a clear training issue. When you pay $22 for a salad, you expect an explanation of what you're getting and a better level of service. There also was a long break between our appetizer and entre and the scallops were overdone and unevenly plated (he got 4 and I got 3 but why). I won't be going back or recommending for anything.
After eating at Boulevard the night before, we decided to head over to Prospect to try out their sister property. The vibe is Super modern, quiet, brightly lit. Greeted by friendly staff, we started our dinner well. We got the burrata salad, filet and sole. While the food was all well made and beautiful, the flavors were just a bit underwhelming. Very forgettable. Even the dessert (peppermint ice cream sandwich and toffee cake) was just not great. With all the great places in San Francisco, I’m not sure if I would return.
The food is outstanding - fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Staff is attentive. It's unusual to have such great food at a business lunch. Highly recommend
Appetizer was super small portion.
Dinner was slightly more.
We ate a lot of bread to fill up.
Nice food and service. The seat at the table arranged next to the floor lamp was tight. Hit it when stood up.
Prospect was excellent. Each dish we had was delicious, well crafted, and an eclectic mix of flavors that really worked. This last is not always the case when a kitchen pushes the envelope a little too far. The wine list was extensive, and service was measured and attentive without being rushed.
Always a great experience. One of the top restaurants in the city.
Always a pleasure to dine at Prospect—from the warm welcome, to a creative menu, interesting wines, and top notch service. One of my Go To restaurants in The City.
It was absolutely amazing! Perfect service, ambiance and food! Drinks were superb and I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. I can’t wait to go back!
Great food - not big portions. If you are looking for huge portions this is not the place. Awesome desserts - the best I have ever had. Great service. A bit pricey but worth it.
I actually quite liked the place. Just two criticisms:
We ordered a white asparagus first course. It had one spear of asparagus cut in two lengthwise. It also had mushrooms and was very tasty. Except for the $22 price, which is outrageous for the tiny portion, we enjoyed it.
Our waitress was lax. After we were served our entrees, she did not ask about wine. I think she might have been a little deaf, because we literally had to call repratly in order to get her attention. Then I made the mistake of not being specific about what I wanted. I just said your bar Sauvignon Blanc. She asked if a Sancerre would be all right. I said fine. I fell for the oldest trick in the books. She brought what was probably the most expensive glass of white they had. For these reasons, I would probably not go back.
This was our 2nd time here. The ambience is lovely, and the service very good and efficient. Our food was tasty, albeit in very small portions. So, plan on eating something in advance, or ordering a couple of Mains if you arrive hungry. Wish they had more than just one option for vegetarians (and please something other than a pasta or a risotto, or grilled veggies. Anything that may show that you actually care about vegetarians and vegans as much as those who do not have restrictions!?) The wines and mixed drinks are on the pricey side. A glass (small pour) of good chardonnay is priced at $28, and no drinks (regardless of their quality) are less than $14!
Food and service were just great. It was just a little too noisy to have a reasonable conversation.
I would like to see more vegetarian options in the menu.
