Prosecco Ratings and Reviews
Great apps, we had the meatball and avocado seafood dishes. Both were superb. Followed it up with the orecchiette with mushrooms and truffle oil. Spaghetti and rigatoni dish were also ordered at the table. Each dish was Incredible. The orecchiette was my absolute favorite!
Sat at the bar and Brian took care of me - recommended the avocado appetizer, risotto with beef tenderloin, and tiramisu. All excellent. Mark, the chef and owner, came by to introduce himself. Hostess was very helpful when making and changing my reservation. But the limoncello after dessert was the BOMB.
Having dined here before, we looked forward to dining at Prosecco. We were handed an Anniversary menu with no explanation about it. After being poured our little splash of welcoming Prosecco, our waiter assured us he was there to make sure all our needs were met. We hardly ever saw him. We don't like hovering waiters, or the ones who want to be your best friend, but we had to ask another waiter if we could order a drink. Was this because we didn't keep the wine list? When the waiter took the wine list away, he didn't even ask us if we wanted anything else to drink. Later on, we overheard him tell a couple next to us who arrived much later than we did, that on Wednesdays bottles of wine up to $99 were half off. He did not tell us that. The hostess claimed that it was she who should have told us that information. We weren't looking for bargains or freebies, we just wanted to enjoy the good service usually provided here. The food was very good, and for that we would still recommend Prosecco.
Service was exceedingly slow. The waiter kept apologizing for a backed up kitchen in a restaurant that was not full. They seemed to be out of items on every part of the menu. The final bizarre moment occurred when we couldn’t get a coffee refill. We were offered a free cup of cappuccino.
I took our family there for my daughter’s birthday. We had a fabulous time. The appetizer, main course, and dessert was delicious. They offered us a complimentary wine being our first time there. I would recommend it for any special occasion and I can’t wait to take my girlfriends to this very fine Italian dining.
As always, impeccable food and stellar service. Went for my fiancee's birthday and I think we scared the staff a little with the number of dishes we ordered, but you just can't decide and need to try them all! Very quite, very friendly, and some of the best Italian in the city.
My 5th time at Prosecco. My entire party was tired after a day at Wrigley, so will temper my comments with that first. Table not ready at reservation time, we went to bar to wait. Called for table and could not get bartender to clear the bar tab. So we went on to table and got our waiter to clear the tab. Waiter service was good but not perfect as the other 4 times I have visited. Food was quite good as always, but the spinach served with the veal was over cooked/burned. Dessert (tiramisu) was excellent. Every restaurant has an "off" night. Don't let this review keep you from visiting. Dining on the sidewalk on a clear warm night is one of life's luxuries!
First, this is a beautiful restaurant...quiet and dimly lit. Great romantic date place, certainly. We came in for a dinner with friends at 8:00 - not crowded. After the initial friendly greeting, service was really just so-so. The waiter didn't seem particularly interested in making our dinner an experience, but was adequate. The two things that stand out were (1) my gnochhi, while REALLY flavorful and well seasoned, tasted "frozen" - you know, that stale taste something gets when it's not fresh; and (2) the waiter/busser cleared the table (COMPLETELY) while one of our party was not finished with his meal. He literally finished his meal with not one other thing on the table except for his plate (there were six of us)! UNACCEPTABLE. I think management needs a little kick in the pants to bring an otherwise wonderful restaurant "back in line" with the dos and don'ts of customer service. I'll try again, but I was disappointed this trip.
The food is absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend anything with truffles. We also had the peaches with burrata and pistachio which was delicious. Our waiter paced the meal well and never let our wine glasses empty. I would highly recommend this for a special occasion.
The only issue was seating. I had made a reservation a week in advance and my guest and I arrived on time. Yet, we were led through an almost-empty restaurant to the back room. When I asked to be re-seated, the hostess was rather coarse. Luckily, we were eventually able to get a table in the front of the restaurant.
I really wanted to like Prosecco but thought the food was just "okay". My client had an appetizer special and pasta. He said the appetizer was delicious but wasn't thrilled with the pasta. I had a tri-color salad that was quite good. My entree, was rather bland. We also ordered a side of grilled broccolini that was very dry. Service was very good and I do like the ambiance.
Waiter was so pushy. We ordered 2 appetizers and a bottle of wine right away. He must of asked us 5 times if we were ready to order our entree. Said there were big parties booked. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we sat down at 6:30. Ordered the thick porkchop. First thing the waiter suggested was to butterfly it to speed things up. Go figure! I refused. I wonder if the wonderful, professional owners of this restaurant actually know what is going on with their staff. The best part of our meal was when we took our bottle of wine to the bar after dinner. The bar staff was marvelous. Should have just eaten at the bar when we checked in.
