Prosecco, in the heart of the River North Gallery District, is a chic, yet welcoming restaurant serving comfort foods from all 20 regions of Italy and Chicago's largest selection of sparkling wine.
The decor, inspired by the faded, gilded beauty of Venice, is filled with silk damask drapes, carved wood chandeliers and gold-framed artwork. The coup de grace is the 35' long bar, hand burnished to resemble a piece of antique Venetian furniture. The bar serves Italian finger food and offers a wide selection of European spirits.
Enjoy classic comfort foods -- from house-made pasta to nightly beef, fish and game menu additions. Dine with the Chef at the Carpaccio bar, where a selection of fresh cured and smoked meats and the freshest fish, are sliced nightly.
Prices are moderate, but those wishing to indulge in an evening of culinary mischief will not be disappointed!

Prosecco Ratings and Reviews
Completely disappointing. Dined on New Years Eve and even allowing for the holiday, it was truly bad. Waiter discussed the minimum charge per person during literally every stop at the table, including providing mid-meal subtotals, despite being told repeatedly we understood the policy. It was frustrating and annoying. The food was bland and cocktails mediocre. Only saving grace was the beautiful room. Won’t return. There are oodles of other great spots to enjoy.
As always, Prosecco delivers. The perfect spot on a cold winter night. Roast chicken and veal were both tender, tasty and filling. Service was impeccable. Only complaint is that we were seated a little to close to the kitchen, and the gentleman behind that bar had a voice that carried. Otherwise, perfect!
Food was delicious-- people at our table ordered the pasta with wild boar sauce, veal, and risotto. All of these were excellent. We also ordered avocado salad (delicious) and calamari (kind of rubbery). The calamari was our only issue with the food, however. The service was also excellent, with multiple wait staff who made sure we had what we needed at all times. They made sure our water glasses didn't empty and everything came out in a prompt manner without ever making us feel at all rushed. I appreciated that. The only other critique would be that the hip-hop music they were playing at first did not really fit the fancy Italian restaurant vibe of the place, but eventually they switched to holiday music that was more suitable. I will note that it's a higher priced place, especially for the drinks, but the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the recipes, the elegance of the decor, and the calibre of the service make it well worth the visit.
We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and everyone one there made us feel so special. The meal was outstanding. I had the rack of lamb and it melted in my mouth. Hubby had the rigatoni with sausage and it was lick the plate clean. Of course they started with a glass of prosecco. Bottles of wine were half price that night so that was nice. We look forward to coming back every year when we are in Chicago.
Prosecco was a delight! I ultimately found it a little more expensive than I expected, but also a great value. The scallops were as good as I've ever eaten, and my wife's pasta was amazing. Dessert seemed a must, if only to continue a wonderful meal experience. No disappointment there! If a great dining experience IS your evening's entertainment, this is a restaurant that I'd find easy to recommend.
Chef Mark Sparacino crafts authentic Italian dishes that will make your mouth water! He makes the Italian dishes you love, but even more savory than you remembered. He carefully sources the ingredients so they are very fresh... i.e. mozzarella made the week you enjoy it. He personally knows the Italian farmers who grow the ingredients he serves... i.e. ask him about his truffle guy! Best of all, when you visit, you will meet Chef Mark and he will spend valuable time with you. You have to order the grilled calamari and homemade limoncello!!
Great apps, we had the meatball and avocado seafood dishes. Both were superb. Followed it up with the orecchiette with mushrooms and truffle oil. Spaghetti and rigatoni dish were also ordered at the table. Each dish was Incredible. The orecchiette was my absolute favorite!
Sat at the bar and Brian took care of me - recommended the avocado appetizer, risotto with beef tenderloin, and tiramisu. All excellent. Mark, the chef and owner, came by to introduce himself. Hostess was very helpful when making and changing my reservation. But the limoncello after dessert was the BOMB.
