The food was good but the service was not as good as the restaurant commanded.
Great food, staff and ambiance. You’ll enjoy this fun and quirky place.
Loved the ambiance. Price point was a little high... wish there were a few more main entree choices. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
So good we went back twice during our stay. Billy was the bomb.
Great time with friends. Fabulous food and wine!
Interesting menu. The halibut cheeks and tail special appetizer was excellent, the califlower steak had lots of interesting flavors, the rib eye was a bit chewy - chocolate pudding was spicy and good. Excellent wine by the glass, beer and bourbon selection. The restaurant has very interesting art - don’t miss the extensive art exhibit in the hotel lobby.
Terrific guest experience enhanced with well-prepared and creative cuisine. Big surprise to us was how the dynamic artwork gave this place a contemporary 'pop'. Bartenders were super knowledgeable and informative about the many bourbons they carry and fun to interact with. Highly recommend!
My fiancée and I went here for lunch on our anniversary! The service and food was outstanding from start to finish. Chef Jerrin took amazing care of us. He went out of his way to make our day special!! Everything was phenomenal, but the octopus and bison burger really stood out! Don’t even get me started on the desserts. Highly recommended to anyone.
Menu is small and focused but food was amazing. All our meals made us go wow.
Bourbon flights were a nice touch too.
Great wine choice.
A must see is the art collection either before or after dinner.
The staff at Proof on Main were very attentive and knowledgeable. My salmon was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. However the steaks our guests ordered, although cooked well, had no flavor. We also felt that our meal was very expensive.
Our server was very sweet but she appeared rushed and distracted when engaging with our table. The food also took a long time to come out and no one checked in with us to give an update. We liked the decor and art all around. The experience wasn’t bad overall, but we definitely had higher expectations on the service we received.
We were told by quite a few people to try Proof. We didn’t have time for dinner, so went for a late brunch. It was delicious. The carrot bread is to die for, we had it for dessert ! The egg sandwich and hot chicken were extremely good. Because we were a little late, our server was serving most tables. Other people stepped up to help him, so all was good.
Food was very good and the service was gracious. The dining rooms are beautiful and the restaurant is adjacent to a terrific art collection. My only quarrel was with the prices. It was New York prices and beyond for a very good but not outstanding meal.
Awesome fresh food. Not your everyday offering a must try. The Smokey old fashion was outstanding. The pork the best I ever had.
Food was not good , my have been an off night. Texas Roadhouse steak is killing their steak. My food was room temp and server was terrible
We felt that the value for the dollar was only just okay. This is a very expensive restaurant.
Fantastic through and through.
Quite a find. The food is phenomenal. in fact, the octopus is probably the best I've had, anywhere (including the homeland, Italia). And the burger (bison) was perfect--great meat from their own ranch, fabulous sauces, and excellent fries. AND, to top it all off, the wine list (while small) was perfectly paired with the food and included rarities (e.g., a pure Croatina from Piemonte, almost never seen in the U.S.). If in LouIsville, DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!!
The very best service from your hostess to your waitstaff. Our dinners were delightful, full of exciting flavors. My salmon melted in my mouth with such memorable taste.
When we return to Louisville this will become our go to" for the best meal
Our party of four enjoyed Saturday brunch. The service was very good. The restaurant is comfortable and not too loud. We loved the French toast appetizer, dessert before the meal, excellent. We each had a different entree, including one vegetarian. Personally, the shrimp and grits were good but the egg white was a little under cooked. Everyone else was very pleased. We visited the art gallery after dining and it was a wonderful way to stretch a bit on a full stomach. Lovely atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
Food was amazing as always. Wonderful service.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, helluva drinks list. Expensive, but fantastic for a special occasion dinner.
We love Proof on Main! Such a fun spot with great food and wonderful service!
Beautiful restaurant with excellent servers
Everyone was extremely pleasant and friendly but we had to remind them of things multiple times
Explained that one of the Diner’s could not eat spicy foods, and they repeatedly brought things heavily spiced
Clearly the chef and kitchen staff are very talented, but all of the food choices were very New age different/ avant-garde even
Well I appreciated their creativity, there was very little on the menu that we could find to eat
I think it would be nice to have a mixture of some highly creative dishes and then a few comfort items as well
It was very difficult for a group to find things to eat
Although clearly the food was cooked to perfection and very artful
I was very impressed with this restaurant from start to finish. If proof on main was in my home town it would be among the top of my list and I would dine here regularly.
Great food. Had the ribeye with root vegetables and the gem salad which all tasted great.
Proof was recommended as a great experience and it exceeded our expectations
Service was mediocre, we were ignored in the beginning and the waiters chatted behind us. Time lagged between appetizers and main dishes. Some dishes had spices that were over done and lacked focus. Good cocktail and wine list. Pork chops were the best on the menu. 3-4 dishes were “out” which was strange for a Tuesday night.
We decided to go there before an event at the Yum center. The waiter and service was great, but the food took almost 35 minutes from the time we ordered until it arrived making us rushed to the show. Not a lot on the menu that sounded good. I had the bison burger and it was good but too salty, the fries with it were delicious! Did not like the cauliflower and root vegetable side.
Spent my birthday at 21C/Proof ON Main. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My server, Alex was attentive & helpful. My meal was outstanding.
Awesome experience and food.
We made reservations for my sons 22nd birthday. The whole experience was delightful. Thank you and we will be back.
There was a lot of on-line hype about Proof on Main so we tried it for Sunday brunch (with a reservation) on a recent visit to Louisville. We were pleasantly greeted and seated. Our server, a young man, was friendly, but not particularly attentive. Perhaps he was new? He did not offer us a review of the menu, even when prompted. Upon being given an either-or option of two items under consideration, he was non-committal. My wife ordered a drink and it was never served, nor was it on our bill. He simply forgot. Our food was just ok. The P.O.M. version of Eggs Benedict I had was dry and very salty. My wife's brisket & cheddar sandwich had onion on it that overpowered both the brisket and the cheddar. The atmosphere was very interesting and the noise level was reasonable given the time of day and busyness of the dining room. If you are looking for a really unique visual experience, this is your place. The decor is fascinating. If you are looking for outstanding food at a reasonable price, go elsewhere. Overall, 3-stars for what was perhaps an over-hyped restaurant long on visual candy but short on gastronomic satisfaction and service.
Great experience-food was delicious and great portions. After our meal we walked through the art galleries-so relaxing and a wonderful break on a cold day.
Food was great and service superb. Everyone cleaned their plated
Good —Ordered House wine & it was pricey! Other than that, A-OK
Hosted business guests for dinner and selected Proof on Main based on search for extensive bourbon menu. First visit for all of us and enjoyed the setting, the mix of spaces, great dining room, super hip bar, spacious gallery and clever twists. All of our food selections were amazing, drinks great and desserts were icing on the cake. We were making plans for our next visit before we finished our night caps!
We went there for a birthday and all 4 of our bison burgers were undercooked. It was not worth the money.
I was kinda rushed due to musical tickets. Alex was a great Waitress and helped me navigate a great meal & make curtain call. The Pop Tarts were fantastic, if you Love liver pate that is. (I do) I’d go back to take my time. Everything was delicious and staff was great. The museum hotel definitely bleeds into the atmosphere. It was fun sitting next to a buffalo and poppies, admiring David’s @$$ outside. 🤣😊
